Chapter 6 - creating my gun and my doubts about people

Damn her house is huge why the hell we don’t see it before. Luna is strangely really close to me while Seraphina is next to me. This is getting awkward, while Kline is looking at me with an envious expression I could hear his whispering.

“That lucky bastard getting two babes in one meeting…gotta learn his ways then…”

Wait a minute, is it because of the skill trait that I have? Shit that, lady killer thing. Dammit this is getting interesting and crazier by the minute. I tried to knock Luna and Seraphina head just in case.

“OW!!” Luna suddenly kick to my balls

“In what kind of mind you are trying to do?”

Seraphina suddenly cried

“Hey!! That hurts..but…” oh shit don’t tell me she started to change to something different I could look into her eyes and face, like a masochist?

“That sensation…is somewhat enlighten…” she is holding her body.

“ugh…” what have I done…

Elowen suddenly then offered us tea and snacks.

“Yum…biscuit” Seraphina instantly take the offer while Kline started to explore around the house and instantly asked her

“Hey Elowen where would you hide your underwear?” In an instant Kline flew off from the sofa and slam towards the wall leaving his head stuck to the wall.

“So what do you want then?” Yep this is it.

“I need your advice about this” I showed her the drawing about the weapon that I need.

“This is interesting you know…its a mixed between a crossbow and a cannon but much compact…with the cartridge like this…so this is what you called a bullet?”

“Yeah..but could you do ?”

Elowen examine the design and started taking the parts for the body of the pistol and she called Randy about it.

“Hey do you know how to build this?” I took the design and started to make the mould for the bullet

“A 9mm design, maybe this could be the right size based on the design”

With a pair of tongs, I placed it into the white-hot heart of the fire. The ore sizzled and glowed as it began to transform.

As the iron heated to a searing orange hue, I pumped the bellows, stoking the flames until they roared like a dragon's breath. I waited patiently, while locked on the metal. Luna observed me closely

“Wow never knew that you had this kind of skill”

“My uncle taught me about this, even in a lack of place to make, the most important is the place to gather heat. Thats what he said to me”

When the iron was at the perfect temperature, I withdrew it from the forge and placed it onto the anvil. I strike with a small hammer, sparks flew in every direction. The iron began to take shape, morphing into the form of a bullet mold.

Once satisfied with the mold's shape, I carefully set it aside to cool. I turned my attention to a nearby table, seems all the material has been gathered but I forgot to bring some gunpowder, but Elowen responded to me.

“Take this then” a barrel of gunpowder but Its kinda different from the one that I have bought. Less concentrated by the smell of it.

A barrel gunpowder, a vial of shimmering liquid, and I manage to create a casing for a bullet.

Luna observed me with interest just like a little kid.

As I took the cooled mold and placed it into a specially designed vice. With utmost care, I ladled the gunpowder into each cavity of the mold. Next came the liquid, a mixture of chemical essences that creates the bullet.

With the mold filled, I closed it, securing it tightly. I then returned it to the forge, allowing the heat to meld the materials together.

Kline also observed my method of making it.

“What a strange effort to make encasing for such small item.

“Well you could say its like an arrow to bow…so to make it a weapon that I could use I need it..as ammo”

“Ammo?” Luna and the others wonders what the hell am I talking about.

“you could say it disposable, but whatever I’ll show them when its complete”

“Well then, Elowen…could you reforge my blade?”

Elowen examine Luna’s rapier and explain to her about the condition of the blade.

“føle” huh that’s Norwegian dialect! That’s must be some connection between my world and this world. But this is not the time to be distracted. I’m going to build this or else this is going to get a lot harder!!.

After a time, I retrieved the mold from the forge and allowed it to cool once more. I opened it with a sense of anticipation, finally it's revealing a set of bullets!!

“Caliber 0.45 ACP nice…” Luna look at me and ask

“But this just a tip of an arrow… and there is any shaft from it…”

“You’ll see…”

I inspected each bullet, ensuring that the it is perfectly set. I'll make the pistol now. I showed a revolver design at Elowen, a 2nd generation pistol. I still need more parts for the automatic version, and I won't be able to build it right away, so a revolver will do

In a revolver, each firing chamber is aligned with the firing mechanism and barrel one by one.

“Hey Elowen, I need an iron ore and the one that I believed is titanium”

“Titanium?” Seems like they never knew about this element, maybe I could ask Kline

“Hey Kline, are you familiar with this?” I wrote about the elements that my uncle taught me a bit that I really remember because I know from it from his journal.

“Let me see” hopefully he knows what am I talking about

“This material is explain…the hardening, iron oxide? Could it be something like mithril…?”

Mithril!? Like those fantasy stories about a magical silver that is light as a feather and hard as dragon scales?

“maybe but it is not shiny though but we use this on our weapons so I could last forever, and resist to all weather conditions”

“just like mithril!!”

“well that will do then…but I prefer that though….”

“Well then let us just make one”

“Got it…” Luna then interrupt me as she pull my shirt

“Hey…is this something from your world?”

“Yeah…the pandora’s box itself, what makes us human beings in my world the most dangerous beings…”

“Pandora?” Yeah she wasn’t familiar about our mythology

“Pandora, the first human woman, was created by Hephaestus and given unique gifts by each god. The Pandora myth is a theodicy addressing the world's evil, with Pandora opening a jar to release all evils.”

“All this names, are they all somewhat relate to gods?”

“Sorry though, I don’t believed all for one bit, but since its the foundation of our world that is a fact…”

“You don’t believed gods?”

“yeah…I don’t believed one bit, religion is somewhat political in my opinion”

“It does for you…but for me…I do believed in faith…”

“well it matters not for me though like I care…”

“So about this pistol is something that I rather keep it to myself…”

“Is this dangerous? But looking at the drawings it doesn’t look dangerous its just look like a miniature cannon”

“Yeah…” Kline then said to me

“Its possible….with materials and elements, it is possible to create it”

“Then lets do it…”

“We'll make titanium from scratch. It will use a combination of chemical processes and physical techniques to refine pure titanium from iron ore. The ore is first melted in a furnace and then treated with a molten mixture of sodium and calcium chloride. The next step is to extract the titanium from the molten mixture using an acid solution. Finally, the titanium is purified and formed into the desired shape.” Shit its been a while doing this kind of stuff but I realise that I shared not just with Luna’s intellect but her style of thinking. Magic does work wonders.

We manage to make Titanium bar, this should be enough to make all the equipment that I need.

“a body armor, a pistol, a knife, and a rifle…”

“A rifle?” Luna and the others wonder what is that.

“A type of a gun but a longer version of it”

I manage to build 2 pistol, dual action, although I need the chamber a bit rectangular with a swing out configuration for defence. For the body armor, is just a plate and with leather and chainmail. With gloves layered with titanium. For the knife is a combat knife and another that will act as a bayonet for my rifle.

“Interesting build…” Seraphina examine my build.

“This is will be for long travels ahead” Luna suddenly said out of place

“Huh?”

“My father the king…as other plans…they are planning for a campaign against the realm of the demon lord..”

While I was busy with making it, I had a curious wondering about the history of their relationship between the demon lord and them.

“I was wondering the demon look like though..” Seraphine explain to me

“I’m not sure about that but what we know that the demon possess immense magical powers that is supernatural, from what I have heard that the demon could conjure weather at any time…” wow that is something

“Well, I heard that the demon lord is either a man or woman that for sure because we never heard of anything that the demon lord show himself or herself, but what we know that the demon lord is wise and full of wisdom…” smart and intelligent.

“But what I know that the demon lord is a witch”

“Basically a female…”

“Yes…that what I know from Kuzman..”

“That old coot that kick me out eh…”

“Uh….yeah…”

“Kick out?” Shit I forgot I never mention about myself.

“uh…yeah, I kinda kick his ball for being an ass” Luna suddenly giggle herself even though its a lie.

“Yep he is…” with some magic everything about building something in a short of time that is something we don’t have in our world. For the rifle, I would make the Winchester model that could fit almost all the bullet caliber, which right now is .45 ACP. But with a modified to fit a bayonet. With just the same method like the gun, its getting easier to build it. Maybe next time, a design like the M1 garand or SVT would be nice. For now setting up all of it.

“So this weapon of yours, how would that work”

“Hang on…” I load the ammo to the pistol and the rifle. I start with the pistol and aim at the tree, wondering how it would fare in firepower.

“BANG!!” That recoil is really hard to control, It is louder than what I known before but It hit the tree and went through the big trunk! Damn…

“That is something…”

“By the gods, that is some weapon…”

“This could rip off someones body of theirs”

“uh…yeah…”

Then I tried the rifle this is for the long range, let see how it fare. I aim at the tree farther than the recent tree and shoot it.

“BANNNGG!!!!!” The recoil is less than the pistol but even louder than before.

“Damn, well that’s a start” I could hear some trees tilted down and crash, before hearing some animals shouting.

“Uwa…that’s really strong…I wonder this could knock out something big like a dinosaur”

“It looks like a small cannon just like those belong to the demon lord army” so they are advance in technology

In this way, I am able to re-equip myself with better equipment. I'll be able to tackle more challenging challenges on this trip I'm looking forward to the adventure that this will bring. I'm confident that I can handle whatever comes my way. I'm ready for anything. I'm sure I'll need to find a way to get back home, but I'm prepared for whatever that entails. When equipped with a bayonet, the rifle becomes a short spear that can be used for close combat The bayonet can be thrust or swung to inflict damage on an opponent. It can also be used to block an attack. Bayonet fighting is a skill that requires strength and proper technique. Bayonet fighting requires not only physical strength, but also the proper technique to strike and block effectively. It is also a valuable tool for survival in the battlefield, as it can be used to ward off enemies and protect oneself from harm.

“Well then, we’re done with this...” My survivability has increased now that I’m done with this but I’ll need to modify my crossbow to become a repeating crossbow. Asking Elowen to lend me her workshop is my first step.

“Sure, but what's the deal with that? ” I explain to her that I want to make my crossbow more effective by adding an extra magazine that will allow me to fire multiple shots in quick succession. She agrees to lend me her workshop and we start to work on the project.

I pulled my crossbow and began disassembling it. "Definitely much easier than that gun." I said.

Although you make this in an unusual manner, at least you don't use magic." Seraphina did not know that I'm immune to magic and cannot be influenced by it. In dismantling the crossbow, I combined some of the remaining titanium with the wood structure to increase its strength, though the quiver could not be modified, but I made it smaller so that I could carry it more easily. The crossbow took a lot of effort to construct, but the smaller size meant I could carry it more easily. I was satisfied with the end result, and I knew that it would be a strong and reliable weapon.

We stayed here for a whole day. Eventually, Elowen offered us a place to stay in her workshop. Despite having some stuff like this in my uncle's place work shed, I have never seen anything quite like this. A sudden voice said to me from behind me:

'You know, we haven't sparred in a while, I just wondered if there has been any improvement' says Luna.

“Huh? Are you sure in your head?" I don't understand what she's thinking after all the crazy things that have been happening lately.

"Yes...unless you wish to die so quickly, do as you please." yikes Luna Luna's face contorted into a malicious smirk. She seemed to be enjoying my confusion.

Having lost the last time we sparred, I had to agree. She was clearly delighted by my dumbfounded expression - and rightfully so, I had to admit.

"Now, use whatever weapon you can find in this shop" Luna grabbed a rapier while I took a dual dagger since I'm used to it rather than a big sword. "Let's see if you can best me this time!" she said with a smirk, challenging me with a glint in her eyes. I took a deep breath and faced her, ready to accept the challenge.

A gentle breeze blows outside, and the moon keeps us company. I was immediately struck by Luna's flurry of blows, but this time, I managed to keep up with her. My kicks throw her off guard, and this time I realize she's not very good at martial arts. In my opinion, princesses and nobles typically fight in this way. I quickly adjust my strategy and start to attack her with a series of punches. In response, she strikes out even faster, and it hurts a lot, she hasn't pulled any punches anymore. However, Luna is a formidable opponent, and she soon catches on to my strategy of attacking her with punches. She starts to defend herself more effectively, and her strikes start to cause me more pain. I switch to a more aggressive strategy and start throwing kicks, but Luna is too fast and dodges them all. She's fast, damn it.

A sudden conversation began between us.

The fights with monsters have definitely improved you since the last time we met, right?” Well, at least I have improved from those crazy fights. As a response, I replied sarcastically

I suppose you're the teacher here..." She smiled and shook her head. "Nope, I'm just here to see how you're doing. I wanted to make sure you're on the right track."

“I see...” I am eager to try this move and warn her “you'd better grind your teeth!It was at that moment that I demonstrated to her my other side, my knowledge of CQC, a military martial arts that my uncle taught me. I took her down by punching and kicking while disabling her weapon. I instantly knocked her down, and we both fell to the soft grass. What do I do? This time around, I'm on top of her, but it's really going the other way, am we fighting or just having fun? We're getting close! I can feel her heart beating fast and her skin getting warmer. She's much stronger than I thought. I decide to go with it and see what happens. I guess it's true what they say, you never know what's going to happen until you take the plunge. In the midst of her blushing, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my balls, like she hit them with her knee. In pain, I roll down, and Luna stands up and looks behind me.

“Stupid mutt!” she screamed! As I roll on the ground in pain, I don't seem to hear Luna was sayings something, "I ask to fight, not the other way around!". I guess she's not as dumb as I thought!

As I lie on the ground, Luna lies beside me. Although, neither of us said a word. We just stared at the sky. It's time to start the conversation, I'll regret it, especially talking to the cute girl beside me. As I took a deep breath, I said to her:

Her gaze shifted from my conversation to hers as she listened to mine, saying, "You know what Luna..."

Then Luna replied, "Yes?" I had to take my courage and reply, "It's the first time I've ever talked to a girl...or is that a good way to put it?". Luna smiled and said, "That's okay. It's your first time talking to anyone, really. But I'm glad you're talking to me." I smiled back and thanked her. She began to explain her background, sharing another part of herself, she said to me:

"It's boring at the castle, just staying in the library learning magic from Kuzman, Verica's always with her father dealing with his politics as the princess of the kingdom." Kinda curious what she does when we aren't together. I'm sure she's got more exciting things to do than read books. I should ask her about it sometime. It would be nice to know what she's up to.

“So...do you usually spend a lot of time in the library? As I asked her about it, she suddenly looked up again. She responded to my question.

“You could say Verica hates reading books while I love reading anything in that library, I always wanted to learn something new..." she is really like the stories I read in fairy tales in books like Beauty and the Beast. She reminds me of the protagonist in those books, always searching for something but never finding it. I think maybe she just wants to find her own happy ending.

If you are staying in this castle and always inside, what will happen when people find out you are gone? The only thing Luna said was a smile when I asked her about "well, I'm just adopted, or you could say a different mother..." Because Luna is a beast-man, and her sister is a human, it doesn't answer my question, so I push her a bit, and she told me something I wasn't expecting. "i'm just a nobody, but i played a role between the beast-man in diplomacy" She explained that she was an envoy to the beast-men, and that she had been sent to negotiate a peace treaty between the humans and the beast-men. She also told me that she was hoping to help bridge the gap between the two species. She believed that peace was possible, and that by working diligently, she could make it happen. She was committed to making sure that both sides had their voices heard and respected, but she suddenly explain to me again "the people of this kindgom of man do not recognize us as beastmen. I was...." She suddenly paused and then continued on a different angle. "But I know that we can change this." She was determined to find a way to bridge the gap, and she was willing to put in the work to make that happen.

I kinda annoyed by this and respond to her “that’s plain bullshit…you want to help but haven’t find out what your people wanted actually?” In a fit of rage Luna responded angrily “how could you know the pain of my people?!”

I close my eyes and responded to her “have you actually visited them? If you have time to hang around with me but you have not yet visited any of them…”

“Its because you have the crystal jewels that I could teleport at any will!!! DUMMY!!!!!” I purposely pissed her off because I’m kinda feel wasting my time with her being righteous. It's not that I'm mean, but because she's somewhat I don't trust her at all, nor do any of the others because of my school life, I have no friends because of relationships like this. It took me a while to realize my former friends only used me to complete their homework, and after that I was the only one who rarely retaliated against teachers and students. There is nothing worse than going to that school. There's a good chance I'd rather not go to school one of these days. I'm pretty sure they never paid much attention to my attendance. I am leaving this world no matter what it takes.

When Seraphina called me out of the blue, she said, “hey where is Luna? ”

"It looks like she just teleported back to the castle" I'm curious about the Luna.

"What's the deal with those rumors about otherworlders? ”

"It's that kingdom that summons people from other worlds to help them." Seraphina

"uh huh then do you know any of them?"

“Huh? About that…Luna is not someone that I could trust because of her past…”

“So Luna is pretty much involved with it then?”

“Indeed, Luna is a princess of the Kingdom of Lozla, and they are actually plotting something right now. The kingdom is watching carefully to see if they are planning total dominance or uniting. Luna is a puppet for the kingdom, and is basically the bridge between kingdoms. That's pretty much it."

“So do you think that I am being used? ”

"Maybe, but Luna is also a victim in this plot," Kline suddenly interrupts.

"It's just that stupid kingdom claims to have the power to crush the demon lord realm, but neither one of us are really interested in that because we are from the dwarf kingdom of Junga, and Lord Junga believed in dialogue instead of violence."

But what about that forcing this she dwarf? I and Seraphina stare at him to decide whether he is saying the truth or nonsense. "Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see!" Seraphina said with a mischievous grin. As Kline replied, "hey! I said the truth, that's what he said to us when we learned of the otherworlders! only one of the demon lords told us that they would find a countermeasure."

As I said to Kline, "so it's basically their personal agenda" and I felt relieved to learn this or else I would be used again for their vendetta. Kline nodded in agreement, and we both agreed that we wouldn't trust the Kingdom of Lozla. Seraphina explain about the my next plan. When I replied, "Well, I have to report back to the guild and then think about what to do next." Seraphina and Kline offered me a proposal, "hey, we'd make a good team, how about joining us?" That's quite an interesting offer, even though I have never ever been to a party with friends or team members like that. Afterwards, Elowen joins the conversation and says, "hey, I think I'll join you guys." It seems that the blacksmith is also joining in. We all agreed and decided to begin our journey back home to the village the next day. We were all excited to start our journey together.

In the kingdom of Lozla, somewhere in the castle. As Luna sat in her room, looking at the night skies, she began pondering why Randy would say such a thing, "that dumbass, keee!!!" She stomped her feet to the ground and jumped up towards her bed using the pillow for a punching bag as she imagined Randy facing her. Randy's face was a picture as she imagined him shrinking in front of her eyes. "What was that about?!" she said to herself with a smirk.

"Dumbass, dumbass, dumbass..." Kuzman suddenly knocked on her door She quickly composed herself, opened the door and said, "Yes?" Kuzman asked, "Are you okay?" "Yes, why?" she replied, looking puzzled. "It sounds like we're going to have a meeting tomorrow morning, and you're invited." Luna thought about what was happening and decided to attend. Her knowledge of Randy's special skill 'the Anti-magic' is somewhat limited, so she immediately asks Kuzman about it. "Master Kuzman, do you know anyone who can nullify magic and not be bound to it at all?" Kuzman explained. "I've heard about it before, but it's useless. It makes me wonder how they could survive with magic here." Luna bowed at Kuzman and shut the door. "I had heard about such a skill, but I didn't think about it because it's useless, i mean how on the god's world could they survive with magic here?" Luna closed the door and bowed to Kuzman. Then Luna recalls something she read in a book. Upon searching her book drawers for the book, she found one titled 'the tale of two dragons', and she read about a dragon hunter who was immune to the elements, and she read the phrase 'the hunter jump towards the two dragons who would decide the fate of the kingdom according to fate. The hunter was unaffected by the fire, and he killed both dragons and took their hearts as proof of his hunt. Luna then noticed a mark on the hunters hand; it was a sigil of a pointed star like the constellation. Luna was intrigued and puzzled by the hunter's immunity and mark, so she read on to discover the significance of his feat.

"This means Randy is...impossible, explaining why Kuzman could not sense his powers." She looked outside the window to see a girl and boy looking for someone or something. she tried to listen to their conversation.

He seems to come from the other worlders that Kuzman summons and says, "hey, leave him alone!! he'll do fine!". It is all alone, so why did Teacher Luqman not even care for him, she replied to the boy. "hey, it isn't safe here, and since you are an archer, it would be a bad idea for you to find him alone." A girl suddenly shoved the boy away. "That's because you don't know Randy's pain!!!" The boy condemned Randy, "Hey, he's just a loser, I wonder if his parents are rich?"

She suddenly looked up to him and said, "His parents are long gone, he was abandoned by his parents, and his uncle takes care of him." The boy was shocked by this and responded to her, "How do you know about him, he never shared anything at all." "He was my neighbour when I just moved here in Sabah." I know Randy, and I cared for him as if he were my own little brother."

As he tried to convince her that Randy was already dead, the boy said, "I doubt he will survive in this unknown world, Elysia." She then heard the name "Elysia, she must have known Randy, maybe I'll talk to her one day." Elysia responded to him, "I believe he's still alive, Oswald." She prayed like a Christian as she stared at the sky. Oswald looked at her with surprise, and then said, "You really believe he's alive?" Elysia nodded and said, "Yes, I do, Oswald." She closed her eyes and continued to pray that Randy would be safe. She wished that Randy would return soon, safe and sound. She felt a strong feeling of hope, knowing that he was still alive. She was determined to find Randy, no matter what it took.
