Chapter 261:

Depths Of The Sea

Wolf Bloodline

The fight was intense, with both sides fiercely competitive. The enemy was fast and strong, but We were a pretty good team and strong-willed.

As the elite soldier charged towards us, we mirrored his movements and ran towards him. When we got within a certain distance, we raised our fists. The soldier shook his fist at me while spraying poison at Mila.

Mila dodged the poison and swung her bow like a club, but the soldier blocked it with his tail and punched at me again. I covered my arm with ice and blocked the punch, then slammed my other ice-covered fist into his stomach.

Mila mobilized after my attack and used sound waves. I kept hitting the soldier who was affected by the sound waves.

The soldier soon got out of his situation, using his sound waves against us with all his strength. His high-pitched voice made it difficult to focus. He stopped momentarily and threw poison at me from his mouth. I didn't know why he did it, but I had to defend myself.

When I built another ice wall to block the incoming poison, Mila saw an opportunity to attack the soldier. But I sensed danger and called out to her, "Mila, wait, it's a trap."

Before I could explain, the soldier jumped to Mila's side and grabbed her, diving into the nearby sea.

Without hesitation, I plunged into the sea after the elite soldier to save Mila. Once in the water, I could see that the elite soldier was pulling Mila down to the ocean floor. Mila appeared unable to use her water power or sound waves, and it was a challenge for me to reach them.

To catch up with the elite soldier, who was swimming quickly, I used my ice power to accelerate. As the ice streamed from my hands, I managed to maintain my balance and catch excellent speed with the effect of the current.

With my new speed, I caught up with the elite soldier and hit him hard with my back, causing him to release Princess Mila and focus on me once again.

Although his poison was ineffective in the water, he could easily use sound waves. Despite being slower in physical attacks in the water, I aimed to damage him by using my ice. I threw my hand forward to launch my ice attack, but he acted quickly and grabbed my arm, striking me on the head and throwing me towards the rocks on the sea bottom.

I considered using my ice to create a shield, but before I could do so, Mila surprised the elite soldier by hitting him from the right and saving me from his attack.

Mila, a mermaid with fins instead of feet and gills in her throat, was still stunning in my eyes. In the context of this war in the sea, her features could prove to be quite valuable to us.

The first thing on my mind was to catch my breath. However, the elite soldier was approaching us rapidly from an unknown direction of the water, blocking our way to ascend the hill. He moved so fast that we couldn't figure out his origin or destination.

As the elite soldier intended, we were trapped in the sea. He aimed to make me breathless first, rendering me vulnerable to his attack on Mila. We had to leave before he made any more moves. Staying would be harmful to both Mila and me.

At that moment, Mila spoke to me underwater with excitement in her eyes, indicating she had an idea.

"I have a plan," she signaled. "Follow my lead and do as I say, okay?"

I agreed with a nod. Unlike Mila, I couldn't speak underwater, and my ice powers were useless due to lack of breath. That was another reason why we had to leave quickly. I had to breathe again before I could attempt to use my powers.

I could not use my powers because the powers I was using took a lot of effort, if I used my powers and failed, I would run out of breath in an instant.

As we reached the seabed, Mila explained her plan.

"Lean against the rock on the ground as much as you can, and cover your ears tightly."

I didn't know what she was going to do, but I had no choice but to do what she said. I leaned back on the rock at the bottom of the sea and covered my ears as instructed. Mila suddenly opened her mouth and started using her sound wave against me. I had no idea why she was doing this, but I trusted her.

The rock beneath me started to crack under the pressure. The elite soldier had to act fast before the stone broke and I was injured.

Mila applied enough pressure with her sound wave to use her water power to lift me to the top of the hill in an instant. The compressed pressure caused me to rise quickly, above the sea. The force was so strong that even the elite soldier could not catch up with me. I knew that Mila had difficulty using her water power in the sea, but she had managed to save me from the water trap with her clever thinking.

As I surfaced and took a deep breath, I landed on a small ice block that I had formed on the sea. The elite soldier jumped out of the water and continued his attacks. I dodged his incoming kick but it destroyed part of the ice block. We exchanged blows and I tried to attack, but he fought back with his fists and tail. Dodging his poison attacks, I saw an opening and went for it, but he hit me hard, causing me to fall to my knees again.

There was no escape; the next attack could finish me off. I racked my brain for ideas, but before I could come up with a plan, Mila appeared once again. She burst out of the sea, landing a solid punch on the Elite soldier, giving me time to grab my hammer, which I had never used before in battle. Mila disappeared back into the water as I swung the hammer, which was not very heavy, at the Elite soldier.

The Elite soldier didn't even realize what had hit him. While I continued to pummel him with the hammer, Mila emerged from the water from time to time to support me with her fists and attacks. The Elite soldier was thoroughly confused and received a barrage of blows without understanding what was happening.

Finally, I found a good opening and raised the hammer in the air, delivering a powerful blow to the Elite soldier's head. The impact shattered the ice beneath us. As the Elite soldier sank to the bottom of the sea, Mila and I took a short breath and swam back to land.
