Namahage Brutus (2)

Everyone stared at the namahage before them. It looked much smaller and leaner compared to Namahage Brutus. Upon seeing the crowd, the namahage immediately ran away. Kintaro attempted to give chase, but the terrified Kawabozu grabbed his leg.

"Don't leave me! I'm scared!" he cried.

"You idiot! I'm trying to catch him!" Kintaro glared as he tried to shake off Kawabozu.

A female officer attempted to give chase, only for Kawabozu to touch her butt. The physical contact caused the officer to stop and angrily slam Kawabozu's face into the floor. This allowed Kintaro to give chase, but by the time he rounded the corner, the namahage was gone.

"Shit, he could've fled outside or still be in the mansion. No way to know now thanks to that idiot," he thought as he called for backup before giving chase.

"Nice going Urara," Kaemi said as the female officer cuffed Kawabozu and dragged him away.

"I bet he'll be safer in prison. Heck, he should've been thrown in there ages ago," the female officer, Urara, grumbled.

"Where are you taking Kawabozu-dono? Our orders are to guard him," a middel-aged male officer named Ishii growled.

"He groped my ass so I'm booking him."

"Help, they're going to kill me," Kawabozu pleaded.

"Ueno, perhaps you didn't get the memo, but there is a serial killer on the loose targeting Kawabozu-dono. Until the all clear is given, NO ONE shall be leaving this manor. And what is this about you trying to kill Kawabozu-dono?"

"I saw the whole thing! Kawabozu-san was terrified and was attempting to grab onto Ueno-san in support, but she slammed his face into the ground," a young male officer named Oota nervously stated.

"Maybe you need glasses rookie, he clearly grabbed my ass. This guy has a record of sexual harassment complaints, but I guess the higher-ups are his bitches considering he never even gets fined for it," Urara growled.

"Please calm down everyone. We really shouldn't be fighting like this," a young male officer with slicked black hair and glasses named Harada pleaded.

"Yeah, shut up everyone. There's actually something I want to ask the old molester. Where'd your escort go?" Reiju asked.

All eyes immediately shifted to Reiju.

"Namura was the one who went with him. Did you see anything?" Harada asked Kawabozu.

"He went ta check da bathroom," Kawabozu whimpered with slight annoyance in his voice.

"Then perhaps we should make sure he's alright."

"Namura? I didn't- HEY! GET YOUR FOOT AWAY FROM ME YOU MOLESTER!" Urara roared as Kawabozu tried to rub her butt with his foot.

"Reiju! We gotta hurry! I saw a vision of someone dying in a bathroom!" Shiruka warned.

"Huh!? Where the hell is the bathroom dammit!?" Reiju shouted.

"Who said you could give orders girl?" Ishii glared.

"Correct! You're a civilian too! Heck, Kinta-san brought 3 civillians with him. Also why are you even here Miyanishi-san? Shouldn't you be back at HQ taking charge of the forensics investigation of the diplomat and crime scene?" Oota argued.

"Yes, you are chief forensics correct? So why are you here when there is no corpse? Do not tell me that fool STILL thinks a murder was committed here years-"

"I was just picked up on the way you stubborn rock," Kaemi glared.

"Do not cut off your superior officer!"

"Shut it will you! I say we drag the molester to prison and watch him there. Our station's just 10 minutes away anyway," Urara growled.

"Wait, these guys aren't from your station?" Reiju asked Kaemi.

"No, our station technically doesn't have jurisdiction of the area, but Kin-kun's the highest ranking officer here, plus he has special privileges both as a detective and the lead investigator of the Namahage Brutus cases," Kaemi explained.

"Uh, weren't we gonna check on that guy in the bathroom?" Chika awkwardly asked.

"Namura-san do you copy?" Harada asked via his radio.

He received no reply and began sprinting down the hallway with Oota.

"Um, Senior officer Iishi, where is the bathroom located?" Oota asked as he stopped and turned back.

"You stopped just shy of it. Well? Is Namura in there?" Iishi growled.

Oota knocked on the door and heard no reply.

"Huh? It's unlocked. Sorry Namura-san I'm coming in!"

Oota burst open the door and froze.

"The hell is it?" Iishi growled as he ran over and looked in.

"It's NOTHING you idiot!" Iishi shouted as he smacked Oota on the head.

"B- but inside there's a weird- "

"That's one of Kawabozu-dono's ornaments. Go in and stare at it, but DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH IT! It's priceless."

As Oota nervously went inside, the door suddenly closed.

"The hell're you doing Oota!?" Ishi roared as he began pounding on the door and trying to open it.

"Maybe he needs to go?" Reiju glared.

"He didn't look like it! And I don't hear piss or shit!"

"Seriously, what's with these guys?"

"No, it can't be. Reiju! We need to open that door now!" Shiruka shouted.

"Don't tell me- HEY BUST DOWN THE DOOR!"

Everyone turned to Reiju.

"Move it you old goat!" Urara growled as she threw Kawabozu aside and marched toward the door.

"I didn't order anyone to help me!" Iishi fumed.

Urara shoved him aside and kicked down the door. A plume of yellow smoke came out of the bathroom.

"*Cough* Ack! The hell is that smell!?" Urara cringed as she held her breath.

"Shit! Don't breath that stuff in!" Kaemi shouted as she covered her face.

Reiju, Chika, and Fumiyo did the same as Kaemi guided them away. Iishi held his breath and helped Kawabozu as they both ran away with Urara. Once everyone was in the main room, Kaemi explained everything.

"That was most likely diazomethane. It can be highly toxic."

"TOXIC!? I was in the line of fire thanks to that dumb bitch!" Kawabozu glared.

"Nothing wrong my ASS! You also need glasses you old goat!" Urara glared at Iishi.

"You're all overreacting! That was clearly just some stink smog," Iishi snarled.

"Well, Oota's probably dead. Guess We'd better call hazmat," Kaemi sighed.

                                                                       ...

Kintaro then returned and was briefed on what happened.

"There's no way that was the work of Brutus. He only kills politicians themselves and does so with a knife," Kintaro stated.

"Has anyone ever survived an attack from him?" Reiju asked.

"No, all politicians who cross his warpath are killed on the spot. I brought the case files with me. Feel free to look at them in the squad car."

"Unauthorized personnel viewing highly classified documents!? Kinta, you're getting court marshaled for this!" Iishi glared.

"If anyone's getting reprimanded it should be you for foolishly endangering and most likely killing a subordinate with you incompetence," Kintaro retorted.

The hazmet team arrived and quickly headed for the bathroom. After a short while, one member came running back.

"SIR! We found no trace of toxic gas, but we did find officer Oota stabbed to death in the bathroom!" an officer reported.

"Stabbed!? Wait does this mean... Shit, this case just became for more dangerous and complex," Kintaro scowled.
