In the moment Adam entered through the portal, he was immediately and without warning teleported to a new location.

No long-winded tunnels in the fabric of reality.

No spinning for hours doing catwheels and vomiting.

No shenanigans.

This time. This time Adam was instantly transmissioned to a new location, one that was a far cry from where he'd just been.

"HULP!" Adam let out as he fell out of the embrace of the skeleton hands and landed on a smooth marble platform.

The portal closed, taking with it the skeletal appendages and leaving Adam alone on the platform.

Rising to his feet, Adam immediately took stock of his surroundings, hands on his daggers as he eyed the slick cavern walls that were illuminated in blue light by the torches that hung beside the portal he'd been deposited from.

"Well… at least it's not lava…" Adam muttered as he eyed the underground cavern that was pocketed with large pools of water.

Just my luck. Of course I'd be surrounded by water… Adam sighed.

Seeing as he was alone, he pulled up his system, looking at the notification that was waiting for him to dismiss it.

[CONCATULATIONS! QUEST COMPLETE!]

Suddenly a coin was spit out from his screen, with Adam catching the gold metal object. He squinted at the golden coin that had a rim of pink and a depiction of a smiling clown on it.

Inspect.

Gatcha? What the hell is a gatcha? Adam furrowed his brow.

He held the coin aloft, wondering how to use it before he reread the last part, hinting it was part of his system.

If he had to guess, the coin had something to do with the sealed functions. But what?

He lifted the coin, placing it to his system where it immediately began to react, sparks of mana touching the coin. However, just when it looked like the coin was about to disappear in his system, an error message displayed.

"Tsk." Adam pocketed the coin, putting it in one of his pockets that was on his leather armor.

Hmmm. Maybe I should spread my skill points out. Adam thought, eyeing the water. He had kept his free points on hand after farming the goblinoids, not wanting to arouse suspicion from Sehn or the other maids who could detect mana.

His plan? To dump the points into Arcana when he entered the tower, but now, gazing at the water Adam had other ideas.

While he was interested in the reward system, he wasn't in much of a rush to access a system that would give out random rewards. No, purrhaps what he needed to do was to make a more even spread, instead of dumping everything into Arcana. Especially since he'd be operating at reduced stats throughout this dungeon.

After depositing the stat points, Adam immediately felt a difference, at least in terms of his strength.

"At least this way when I get debuffed I won't be completely screwed." Adam muttered, eyeing the smooth cavern that was utterly devoid of any entrances, escapes, or tunnels save for the glowing water surrounding the platform he stood on.

He took a step forward, peering over the edge where suddenly, a notification hit his face.

Treasure? A fetch quest then. Adam frowned. He glanced down, spying rocks in the rippling water that were giving off a faint glow, illuminating the underground.

"At least I can see." Adam frowned. If the temple was underwater he'd have to figure out a way to explore. He wasn't a bad swimmer, even with his debuff he was sure he could swim through the water with relative ease. No, what really concerned Adam was the lack of oxygen or getting trapped underwater. It was easy to lose track of time and location when traversing tunnels, doubly so underwater. And there was no guarantee there would be light further on.

Adam's brow furrowed, looking over the sub quests and the escalation between each quest.

Ten thousand… This… This might be a problem.

Fortunately his quest didn't seem to have a timer. Meaning Adam had as much time as he needed to complete his test.

He reached down, grabbing a small pot and matches he had on his waist as a cat shaped summon sigil appeared.

It was time to go hunting.
