Chapter 62:

To the boss

Hacker Class

Blood rained, coloring his snow-like hair red.

It was the blood of another of his brethren, another who had fallen under the swing of a corpse's sword.

The boy let out a crazed cry, he swung his sword through the air, and a sharp whistle could be heard. It was like the sound was enough to cut through the enemies.

His sword made contact, and the creatures head was decapitated. The glow dissapeared from its eyes, and the corpse lay still.

The boy let out several heavy pants, as he labariously breathed. He was overcome by fatigue, and understandably so. The enemy did not tire, and their numbers were incessant. no matter how many fell, for one that fell two would rise again. Yes, it was literal.

They would rise again.

The boys head snapped when he heard a sound to his left, and his gaze landed on a pitiful sight. A warrior with his internal organs hanging out of his body twitched, and he began to move. Slowly, he sat up, and than he rose.

The boy's jaw trembled, and his teeth grit together in a lingering incongruity. Disbelief blinded him from seeing the reality of the situation before him. The weight of it weighed down on his arms, forcing him from realizing the true gravity of the situation. With arms of lead, and sightless eyes, he was full of weakness.

"Don't dishonor us."

His brothers words rang within his ears. He regained clarity, and his arms were light again. He raised his sword, and swung. He slayed the monster. Yes, it was now a monster. It was no longer elf. Just a puppet of the vampires.

As the thought crossed his mind, his heart filled with rage. Men who lived with honor... Men who died with honor... They were not honored in their life, and now they were given no honor in their death too?

How despicable of those vampires.

A vicissitudinous desire to simply ravage those vampires made itself known. The boy raised his sword, and charged forward.

He would avenge the honor of his kin.

He fought, until he was deep within the enemy lines. When he looked left, right, front or back, he only saw the dead.

Than amongst them, he saw a familiar face. The face, of his brother.

Sarah Foster closed her hand into a fist, and thousands of wolves fell to the ground their bodies laying still. She let out a sigh, and glance at the tall mountain. She could simply fly, but she had people to take care of. If only she could find Alden. She knew that these things happened in false dungeons. A group could be separated from each other. She just hoped the other group were together.

A blue glow layered the ground, as far as one could look. There was just blue, and within all of that, stood a man clad in black. Alden observed his army. He now had a large army to control, and he truly felt like a king.

"You can come out!" Alden called out to Prince and the others. They came out from where they hid and cautiously walked through the army, upto Alden.

"Damn, bro. You control all this?" Prince looked around in awe.

Alden shrugged his shoulders. "well, yeah..."

"Then, if your power is to raise the d-" He paused, his brows narrowing. "Wait, don't tel me you have that creepy guys power too? Will you go crazy like him?"

"No, no. My power is different. I simply transform monster corpses into weapons. It's like I have a half mecha army."

"Robots, basically."

"Yeah, something like that."

"Phew..."

A moment of silence followed until Alden asked a question.

"So, where is that phsyco?"

"Oh, him? Sarah Foster dealt with him. I've no idea what she did, but I think it's super secret stuff."

Alden nodded in understanding. Then, he stole a glance at his frightened teammates. He felt bad for what he was about to do.

"Guys, I need to find the boss and kill in so I'm going to leave. You guys can stay here and be guarded by my army."

"What? You can't leave us here!" Prince objected, before anyone else.

"You're coming with me, pal." Alden reasussured him.

"On second thought, the army doeslook pretty strong. You guys will be just fine." Prince said, appearing next to Alden.

"Shameless..." The other team members glared at Prince.

"Don't worry, Mr Hall. We'll be just fine." one of the Rangers reassured him. Alden nodded in reply.

"Ash! " Alden called. The dust around him danced and the sound of wings beating broke the silence.

In front of Alden landed a giant black dragon. It's eyes were like blue marbles, and blue cracks spread throughout its body. The blue marks were a trademark of weapons created with moon metal, and now also a trademark of his soldiers.

Alden leaped unto the creatures back, and helped Prince on by carrying him with his gravity ability.

"Alright, take care!" Alden called, and with a single powerful flap the dragon rose into the air. It then shot into the horizon, at top speed.

Alden took a while to get used to the sensation of riding a dragon through the air but soon he was used to it. He turned to see Prince enjoying the ride.

"Hey!" he called. He had to yell in order for his voice to be heard.

"Yeah!?"

"Why does Sarah Foster work for the association even though she isn't affiliated with the?"

"Well..." Prince paused.

"From what I hear, she volunteers to train the youngsters! She only selects certain Rangers though! Apparently, she mostly helps poor Rangers! "

The reply surprised Alden. He was aware that being S-class, Sarah Foster could earn big bucks. She wouldn't even have to go into the dungeon most of the time. Yet, she still chose to help the poor children in the association. She was truly admirable.

Alden wondered if he could recruit her.

"Hey Alden, there's something there!" Prince exclaimed. Sure enough, though it looked like a small worm from so high up, Alden knew it was not.

"Stay on Ash." said Alden, before getting off the dragon. He heard Prince shout after him but he continued his descent.

As he grew closer to the ground, he began to fall faster and faster. When he reached the bottom, he crashed like a comet from outer space.

BOOM!

Smoke filled the air, hiding him within. Alden felt the ground break beneath his feet. Soon, the smoke cleared to reveal Alden's confident figure. He stayed strong, and stood tall as he gazed at the giant serpant before him.

It was longer than a train, and thicker than a plane. It's scales were a reddish black and it's reptilian eyes were fixated on Alden.

Alden returned a stare defiantly, and waited. The snake opened its Jaws to reveal to sharp venomous fangs. A hiss escaped it, before it rose into the air, ready to strike.

Alden waited for it to attack. The snake slithered to him, it's movements fast and fluid and like a judges hammer, it's head was dropping toward him.
