Chapter 14:

(Poem) You

Stray Stories and Purposeless Poetry

You \≈\ n. 1. A simple word used to address someone, anyone: as I describe you to the general public. 2. A word used daily by billions of people as they shout and hoot, jeer, towards someone stranger than friends. A simple word that can convey emotion: they scream angrily. / They holler urgently. / They soothingly murmur their love for one another. / They whisper and laugh, / talking behind my back. / They speak as loud as elephant roars. / My eardrums ring and vibrate. / They call like crows / as I turn around, / yet to be faced by nothing / but foreign eyes / staring away from mine.
