Chapter 310:

The Swordmaster

Katie, Frankie, and Nate stood outside their meeting place of the Flaming Sword Catch. Tara and Genkei soon arrived, sporting fast food from a local chain.

“Katie!” Tala waved. “Gonna cheer you on today super hard! Ganbatte!”

The swordfighter smiled. “Thanks, but I’ll be fine. I’m not nervous anymore. If she wants to see skill, I’ll show it to her.”

“She practiced all morning long. We got kicked out of a park, but Kate says it was worth it.” Frankie nudged her sis, laughing at her. At last the front door swung open, swordswoman Sejun Shori poking her ponytailed head out of the door.

“You came back.”

Katie nodded. “That’s right. Katie Pop doesn’t give up, I’m sorry. If you want me to stop loitering on your storefront, I wanna fight you one more time.” She challenged.

<Very well.> The woman propped the entrance open. “But if you fail this time, that’s it, alright?”

“I don’t plan on failing.” Katie stepped through the opening like a champ, meeting her in the ring and begging to put on her armor. Everyone else took a seat, waiting for the battle to begin. With the arena just having opened, no other pupils were here to train yet- the silent field made for great anticipation for the coming duel.

It wasn’t far from an empty field, one absent of everything spare some grass of a thick fog. It was like you could feel the breeze between their gaze- once the duelists faced each other through their helms, both understood that they must take this fight with the absolute highest degree of seriousness. Both understood that they must do everything in their power to win.

The silence grew to a pinpoint of soundlessness.

Then, the red-haired fangirl cried out from her seat at her beloved big sister.

“Kick her ass, Katie!”

With that, the swordfighters began to circle each other in their victory-hungry final duel.
