In the northernmost fringes of the central continent lies an arch of land protruding from its main body, initial observers during the first years of the post-glitch world tracked its outline from its strangely bulbous base to the arrow tip and, when they were done, said explorers nervously adjusted a few things from the original draft as their supervisor stared at them, partly confused and partly feeling he had been played. Thus, the first map to ever come out to the public looked like a tentacle spiraling out of the main landmass, ending with a line of islands as they went further away into the northern sea. It was not until actual drones circled around the shores and scanned the region that the expeditionary communities were even more baffled at the strange geographical formation. Some of the experts who still tried to make sense of Moros' physical properties and reconcile past disciplines with the Glitch's effects said that eruptions had formed the split islands, prompted by the initial tremors during the calamity, separating the arched peninsula from the faraway glacial land of Glasse after intense friction from the tectonic plates and giving it its erect posture. These scientists then noticed that for some reason the hearing moderators and the public audience glared at them intensely, with a mix of discomfort and some urge they often bashed at, partly because it was improper of such things to be discussed in an academic environment,  but mainly because they had not been too successful when indulging in said impulses. Either way, as it is common in human nature, it went by two different albeit appropriate names. It went as Northern Arm in the official records of the Hex Authority, and they made sure to immediately shoot down any bird in the sky who did not submit to their terminology. Still, to the Pathfinder mercenaries, free spirits by design, it was easier to give it the codename it ultimately deserved: the Great Phallus.

At first, as abbreviated, the GP existed outside the Hex Authority's massive periphery, with only a simian race of brown fur living in packs across the dense forests. Not many people were interested in knowing what was actually there until a group of golden elves from the Starbright realm decided to settle there. It turned out there were many thermal lakes and springs by the mountain range that extended from tip to base. Being the magic addicts they were known for, many observers suspected the waters to be infused with mystical properties, something that actually happened to turn on Hex Inquisitors. The peninsula would have been cut off and blown away with long-range missiles if not for the intervention of the Annals Institute. The Annals' then president, codenamed Ouranos by many pathfinders, begged the Hex council to grant him jurisdiction, his explanation eventually convinced the uneasy councilors to give them the region; it would all be for science.
