Chapter 42:

Chapter 42: Bow to the King! Leonidas!

Howl

I let out an exhausted sigh as I sat on the ground. Then looked at my hands, the claws had blood on their tips, a drop falling even to the ground. I looked at them in disgust, then lowered them and got back up. I walked over to where Dr. Brown was, looked down at his body and said, “I'm…so sorry.” After that, I turned and started to walk off, looking up at the sky and noticed one of those big drones was watching me.
As the drone watched, its camera eyes along with all those others continued broadcasting to the world. “Why is this still happening?” A man asked. “Are we really just sitting around watching people kill each other?” A woman added. “Some of these guys are just kids.” People across the globe continued to ask the same questions, all the while the fighting and bloodshed went on. Back to Leona and Ezekiel who together had managed to defeat the remaining lionesses will now face an even greater challenge….
“Phew! See, I knew you needed my help.” Ezekiel said, his hands on his legs breathing heavily. “Tch, please. You damn near contributed nothing.” I rebuttal. “But we're not out of the woods yet. There's still one more bastard we gotta deal with.” Ezekiel looked at me with confusion then turned his head to where I was looking and saw Leonidas walking toward, his expression turning from serious to smug once he made eye contact with us.
“My…King…” One of the lionesses on the floor reached her hand out, and when he looked down his expression changed to disgust, then he kicked her across the face. “Don't assume weak trash like you can touch me.” He told her, then continued waking until he was right in front of us. “I suppose it's as the old saying goes; never send a woman to do a man's job.” I internally gagged when he said that. “Typical. Always let the lionesses wear down the prey and then you reap the rewards.” I sneered. “I am a king, and why would a king expel precious energy when he's got the expendables to do it for him.” He scoffed, “Then again, even the help is useless. So I suppose I'll take matters into my own hands.” Ezekiel groaned with annoyance, “Look dude, can you just cut to the chase and…” Before he could finish, Leonidas interrupted. “Who allowed to speak, worm? I'm only conversing with those I see as a decent challenge.”
“Hmph, am I supposed to be flattered?” I rolled my eyes. “Of course not,” He replied, “Why would I try to flatter garbage? On the topic, where's your little friend The Failure? Certainly he's not hiding or perhaps he ran off like a spineless coward.” Both Ezekiel and I growled, “None of your damn concern. Besides, I'm your opponent.” Ezekiel looked at me with concern, “You're not seriously thinking about fighting this jackass now, right?”
“Why the hell would I wait?” I questioned. “For Belle and Ferral to get here. Emphasis on FERRAL.” I looked at him annoyed, “WHY would I need that jabbering fool's help?!” “Because you're not as strong as-!” Before he could finish, I grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up. “Finish that sentence, I fucking DARE YOU.” I snarled, but he shook his head so I let him go, and he fell to his knees gasping for air. “I don't need any of you idiot’s help. So, you can tuck that tail between your legs and run away like the pissant you are, but I'm fighting.” He grumbled as he got back up, “I swear if we weren't friends I would just leave your sorry ass. *sigh* Alright, let's kick his ass.”
I didn't respond and just got into fighting position, Ezekiel following along. Leonidas laughed, “You're really going to fight me? Hehehe, I suppose suicide is the coward's way out.” He also got into fighting position as well, standing there obviously waiting for us to make the first move. “By the way,” Ezekiel turned to me, “Why are your guy’s fur not the normal colors like the others?” “It's because unlike them we were given extra animal DNA,” I told him, “And you can clearly tell, it's that of a tiger. So we're technically Ligers.”
During our little conversation, Leonidas had gotten tired of waiting and charged at us. We had zero time to react and he kicked me square in the gut, then socked me across the face with his left fist and I went flying back. Ezekiel just stood there in shock and Leonidas turned his sights to him and bolted toward then grabbed Ezekiel's face. He began running toward a building, dragging his heels against the ground until his head was rammed into the wall of the building. Then Leonidas threw a volley of punches and kicks against Ezekiel's body who had no time or opening to react. I stumbled out of the rubble and saw where the two had gone, so I rushed over and threw kick but Leonidas’s senses were sharp and he blocked my attack then grabbed my leg, spun me around and slammed me against Ezekiel's body. We crashed through the wall of the building and laid on the ground in pain.
Ezekiel tried lifting his head up, but Leonidas rammed the bottom of his foot into his face and made him slide backwards. Then I got and threw a punch, but he moved to the side, grabbed my wrist and twisted the arn. I screamed in pain until he started kneeing my ribs repeatedly then finished it off but letting me go and kicking me across the face though another wall. As I laid down I could hear Ezekiel crying out in pain and some of the impacts that Leonidas’s blows did until he was thrown out of the same hole I came through. Leonidas came walking out with a smile on his face, “HAHAHA! None can be my equal! I'm the strongest in the world!!” Ezekiel and I strained to get back up. “And a giant pain in the ass.” I muttered as I spit out blood. As we got up, Leonidas charged at me again, and this time grabbing the collar of my shirt with his left hand and headbutt me with all his force. Then he started punching me across the face with his right fist again and again. Ezekiel tried to jump in to help, but Leonidas kicked him in the stomach, pulled back his leg and kicked him again in the face.
Then he went back to socking me across repeatedly, pure joy plastered on his face. “Tell me…Who's. Your. KING?!” He let go of my collar and one final swing sent me flying back and hitting against a large truck. I fell on my ass, blood running down my lip and nose while he started walking toward me, stretching his arms. “There's just a certain satisfaction I get from slowly and painfully snuffing the life out of the weak.” He chuckled, “It's arousing really.” I tried to get up, but my body was too weak to do it. But as he got closer, Ezekiel came sprinting from behind Leonidas, jumped in the air, launching a kick directly at his head. But he knew and turned around to grab his leg and slam his body on the ground, then he turned Ezekiel over and started stomping repeatedly on his chest until he coughed up blood. Leonidas picked Ezekiel up by the throat and threw him toward the same truck but this time he smashed through the window; his body falling hard into the ground beside me. I had finally got to my feet and wiped my nose, trying to catch whatever breath I could.
He once again stood in front of us, his arms crossed and his head cocked to the side with a smirk on his face. “Well then, ready to kneel?”
