Chapter 41:

Vol 2 Chapter 16: Black'n White

River Of Anew: Farming In Another World

The girls were left speechless as Foin walked back to chopping more wood. Of course, over the past few days, he managed to gather quite a massive amount of firewood, but he thought that gathering more would be a good idea. It was unknown how long the winter would last, as this was another world, and he wanted to make sure that he was prepared.

"Lord dragon... Please tell me that you are only pulling my leg... Please tell me that you are the boss here, and I didn't offend the real boss... Wait... Since he said that you are the stronger... why would he dare call himself the boss here?"

The goblin uttered as she continued to tremble, sweat and look towards Foin.

"How dare you underestimate my master! You dare to insult him one more time, I will destroy you myself!"

Énilo declared. Her voice was full of anger and hatred. She stepped next to the goblin and lifted her up effortlessly by her jaw. Her appendages entered the goblin's skin, just like they did with Foin, but the effect was different. This time, their goal was not to mitigate pain; on the contrary, it was to inflict pain.

The goblin's eyes widened in shock. The about twenty-centimetres tall creature who could weigh, about as much as her arm, rendered her completely immobile. The moment her appendages entered her skin, the goblin was unable to move, she was not even able to move her jaw and produce any sound. All she could do was stay there like a vegetable.

The appendages that had entered the goblin's skin dug deeper and deeper, and unlike before, their presence was greatly visible. Almost as if the veins had greatly expanded as the skin of the goblin had many bulging veins all over her face, which slowly spread down her throat. The goblin was seriously struggling, her eyes were filled with tears.

As time slowly went by, for her, each passing second felt longer and longer. And with every passing second, the veins kept crawling further and further into her body. Seeing her agony, the plant girl, Énilo only grinned. Though she was not planning to kill the goblin, she enjoyed teaching her a valuable lesson.

"You have disrespected the man who gave you food while you were unconscious; food which not even lords would be able to eat! Food which you would never be able to afford even if you worked for eternity! Master is a kind-hearted person; he decided to help a despicable vermin to survive!"

Énilo spoke up after a short while, her face was still distorted with anger, and she kept glaring with her four eyes straight into the tear-filled eyes of the goblin.

"Goblin, you must learn something today... Do not judge people based on appearance! Foin although acts as a kind-hearted and slightly submissive person... I have once seen his bad side when he was drunk... He is a real monster!"

The dragon spoke up but paused for a brief moment as she looked at Foin. And then she continued, but she lowered her voice; she was nearly whispering.

"He avoids the usage of magic, as I have never seen him really wholeheartedly utilise it... So although he seems weak... angering him would be the worst mistake in your life..."

The dragon uttered. Her mouth was shaking as if she was afraid of Foin hearing what she said, however, she quickly shook her massive head and then looked at Énilo.

"By the way, what are you doing to her?"

"Nothing much... It's just a precaution, this way it will be easier to deal with her if she decides to once again do something wrong. I am just replacing most of her blood vessels with my appendages. It will not affect her much, but she will be easy to deal with."

Énilo said as she let go of the goblin, who just collapsed onto the floor. In a mere moment's time, all her swollen veins shrunk back to their original size, however, she was still unable to scream or move in pain. Though the pain soon disappeared, and she regained her ability to speak, she was still immobilised.

"A... Are you... One of those... plant people... I thought you were extinct..."

The goblin uttered with twitching eyes as she started drooling on the ground.

"Oh, so you know a bit about me, that makes things easier, so now you will know who you are dealing with! Master gave life to me..."

Suddenly, a wide grin crawled onto Énilo's face as she leaned almost straight into the goblin's face, whose face was grotesquely disfigured by fear.

"Now I believe you can imagine why you should not mess with my master! How are you going to compensate him for your insolence?"

"I... My mother gave me something before I was exiled... That is all I have..."

The goblin uttered with a shaking voice. She was on the verge of crying from the intimidating presence of Énilo, and the pain she had just gone through. The goblin slowly pushed herself up onto her knees, but instead of walking, she crawled towards Foin.

"Are you really one of those plant people?"

The dragon asked quietly once the goblin was away from them.

"Nah, I don't even know what they are, but it is better if she believes that I am one of them. At least she fears me, so she will not dare to act against my master! Also, I am still but a child... I have a long way to go before I can reach my adult form... Still... I am grateful that I am alive!"

Foin was cutting the wood into easily movable pieces, and the ant was helping him by hoarding them down to the underground area. Foin was working diligently when suddenly he felt a strange sensation on his leg, almost as if something had just gently pulled on his trousers. He quickly looked back to see the goblin kneeling behind him. She was trembling and was only staring at Foin's feet

"L... Lord Foin... I am terribly sorry for my rudeness... I have wrongly assumed the lord of this domain... Please forgive me, mighty Foin... Please accept this as my apology... This is all this lowly weak one has!"

The goblin uttered and with trembling she took a layer of rags off from her waist and extended her hands towards Foin. In the rags, Foin could see two small, round objects.
