Chapter 18:

The Angry Mob Incident

My Weird Internship

Mike quickly told everyone to run. All of them started to use their quick feet.

" Guys, use the Eel Formation!!!" Ryo urged, as he immediately broke into a sprint to start looking for the best escape route. He began to avoid all obstacles and obstructions from the angry mob.

The well-trained members of the Wood Carving Technique class immediately executed a formation that was commonly called the "eel formation", because eels were one of the animals that were difficult to catch. so they usually used this formation when dodging threats. In this formation, the sprinters are at the front to clear the way, while the Strongest are at the back as protectors.

They ran away from the village plaza, dodging fruit bullets and other objects thrown by angry villagers. The Wood Carving Technique class was used to conflict situations like this, both in and outside of school. They had many enemies, and their ability to collaborate in precarious situations like this was one of their strengths.

"This way!" Ryo pointed to a deserted alley, his friends began to enter the alley. Now that Mike was at the front, he yelled at Mike "Mike, you're the head now."

"Damn you!" Mike replied with a middle finger.

"Irvan!!!" Ryo gave Irvan a sharp look and glanced at a piece of wood, Irvan nodded. Irvan started to pick up the wood and Ryo kicked another barrel that was next to him. he started to roll the barrel over, and started to hold it with the wood.

"Let's go back to the pack" Ryo exclaimed as he tapped Irvan on the shoulder.

"Hmm... Aye aye Captain!" replied Irvan.

After running for an intense 7 minutes and stopping for a moment in a small deserted alley, the panting members of the Woodcarving Engineering class talked about what they had just experienced.

Mike, who was still searching for answers to what happened, asked his friends, "You guys saw it?" His face radiated confusion.

Erika answered without turning her head, "Yes, they're red like apples. It must be 'cause they think all of us are enemies, just like in the game."

Zirly, in an amazed tone, commented, "So it's all true, they're all just NPCs!!!" Her expression was full of confidence.

Ryo, who always looked casual with his glasses on, nodded as he said, "Yes, it's all true. Mr. Pop and Bald Man's words are not bullshit. No doubt, it's a game we've never imagined before."

Mike, who was relieved that they were far enough away from the angry crowd, finally stood up and wiped his sweat that was already pouring down. "Alright, let's head back to the Villa. We need some time to reflect on everything we've seen and experienced. Maybe we need to make a new plan."

They continued their journey back to the Villa with all the energy they had left. Arriving at their Villa, after the enigmatic and dangerous experience in the mysterious village, the members of the Woodcarving Technique class were exhausted. Some of them immediately lay down limply on the carpet, while others sat on the sofa, trying to catch their breath from their escape.

he decided to speak up. "Guys, listen..." Mike said in a stern voice, getting everyone's attention, "I think I have a new rule."

All eyes were on him, and those who were still lying or sitting down immediately sat up straight. They knew when Mike spoke seriously, it meant there was something important they needed to hear.

"Everyone in this class must pass the exam this weekend!"
