REIN: Nightmare Trials

6[System] command —initiate command sequence [Two-layer command] ——layering command[Invoke] galeAs he imagined those thoughts from the Klaus, a gust of wind began forming in his right hand."[Vortex] configuration" "Argh!"While the wind gathered, it started to peel the skin off his hand due to the sheer force. Blur winced in pain but held on, preparing to strike back at the demon beast that was casually following him."It's a one-note trick, but that's fine. Since it's a one-note trick that works on anyone the first time."With determination, Blur, a human with a vague knowledge of the Klaus anatomy, reached out his hand toward the creature's torso, aiming to crush its vital organ."?! Guh, aah, gah?!"Just as he prepared to pass judgment on the Klaus, an unimaginably intense shock rocked his head, causing white spittle to foam at his mouth as he slumped to his knees.Slumped on the floor, Blur's agony was unbearable. He desperately pressed his temples, trying to dull the pain, but it seemed insurmountable. He struck his head, over and over again, but it only intensified his suffering. It was as if a hellish bed of thorns had taken root inside his skull."Owww! Argh! It hurts! It hurtsss!" He screamed until his voice nearly broke. Blue blood filled his mouth, and he clenched his teeth to keep from spitting it out. The inexplicable pain was relentless, and he couldn't resist it. He felt like he was losing to an unknown force. This was the harsh backlash of using the command system without proper compensation—his life force paid the price.Naturally, when the vortex he had created vanished, it lost its interaction with the Klaus, and the beast, though initially perplexed by Blur's sudden change, seized the opportunity to unleash a blackball of ashes to incinerate him on the spot. The massive blackball filled the library with searing heat.Just as it was about to consume Blur entirely, Number 102 charged forth ferociously from the shadows, wielding a hefty book. With a swift and powerful strike to the Klaur's left leg, she caused the beast to lose its balance and drop the blackball it was preparing. The Klaus was caught in the explosion from the fallen blackball, getting blown back by the blast. Black blood dripped from the wound on its arm, but it paid little heed to it. Instead, Number 102 dashed across the floor, grabbing Blur's clothes as he writhed on the ground, and swiftly began retreating.Still bewildered by the splitting headache and struggling to grasp the situation, Blur looked back at the Klaus. Behind Number 102, the beast stood on unsteady legs. Blur noticed a bubbling wound where the humanoid left leg had been torn off, but to his astonishment, a new arm grew back almost instantly. Its monstrous regenerative ability quickly healed all its wounds, leaving it in pristine condition within seconds.Once it was whole again, nothing stood in its way. The Klaus conjured a blackball, this time merging it with the lance, creating a fiery weapon."Piiiiiii!"With a swing, it brought the lance down towards Number 102. Timing her move perfectly, she ducked, just barely evading the attack by crouching low and then accelerating away.—The moment the Klaus saw Number 102 escape its attack, it delivered a light kick to her side, the same side she had broken earlier. The force sent her tumbling, and she whinnied in pain, vomiting a mouthful of blood from the internal damage. The Klaur's cruelty was apparent, as it seemed to take enjoyment in the scene. However, despite her injuries, Number 102 refused to let go of Blur. He couldn't afford to worry about her wounds at that moment, given the relentless, excruciating pain in his head that felt never-ending.Feeling Number 102's breath and the blood she coughed up on his skin, Blur teetered on the brink of losing consciousness. But a glimmer of her tears broke through the haze of his agony."Oh."Seeing her tears welling up in his eyes, a surge of emotion rushed through Blur's pain-stricken mind.He remembered the promise he had made to her, "Just remember, I'm here as a friend whenever you need someone to talk to."
If he died here, she would be left with no one to talk to. This realization ignited a burning rage within him, matching the hatred he felt for the Klaus."I'm going to kill you."With a fiery determination, Blur unleashed his rage, and despite his vision being blurred by tears, he fervently commanded, "[Release]!"His vision was obscured by a torrent of tears as he aimed his command at the beast before him. A crunching pain erupted in his head, but before he could be engulfed by the overwhelming pain, the vortex struck the Klaur's lance from the front, landing a single blow. But that feeble resistance was all he could muster."Piiiiiii!"In response to his enraged counterattack, Blur suffered another eruption of pain. The Klaus slammed its front feet into the floor and used them as a pivot to unleash its hind legs like a catapult. Those powerful beast legs gained incredible speed and weight, flying directly at Blur, Number 102, and the nearby book. The explosive leg strength obliterated a whole segment of the marble floor, sending everyone caught in its wake flying. Number 102 finally released Blur, who was sent sprawling across the floor, crashing into a white bookshelf in the aftermath of the impact."Agh, uuugh..."Blur could barely stay conscious amid the indescribable headache and the consequences of the Klaur's kick. As his consciousness flickered aimlessly, he sensed impending death drawing near. Thoughts of destruction and pointless death swirled in his head. But then, he felt someone standing in front of him—a small, delicate figure. His consciousness was hazy, but he recognized the silhouette. It was someone incredibly familiar—Number 102. She stood there unsteadily, a beacon of hope in this dire situation.Number 102's arms were raised in a futile attempt to protect Blur. He desperately wanted to tell her to stop, but his throat was as unresponsive as if it were filled with sand—actually, it was ashes. He had swallowed mouthfuls of ashes in a futile effort to alleviate the head-splitting pain, rendering him incapable of speech."Why...?" he managed to croak, his voice feeble, barely louder than a mosquito's buzz. The weight of his mistakes bore down on him. His impatience, unease, and uncertainty had led to this dire situation, and Number 102 had been ensnared in it all because of his recklessness. But Number 102 had chosen to stand there to protect him—a friend who accepted her unconditionally, someone she could talk to. Blur couldn't comprehend what drove her to such lengths. Yet, amidst the impending doom, he knew one thing for certain—at this rate, both Number 102 and he would meet a grim end.The Klaus roared, conjuring two burning ash weapons in its hands. These grotesque implements, whether swords, hammers, or axes, served one purpose—to cut through Number 102, who was a fraction of its size, and then incinerate Blur."Come on, there has to be something, right?" Blur muttered in desperation, reaching deep within himself. He scoured his thoughts, seeking a way out of this seemingly hopeless predicament. It wasn't the Command System he had overused—it was something different, something entirely new that he hoped might provide a glimmer of hope. But before his determination could yield any results, the Klaus raised its ashen weapons. The ashes flashed over its head, soaring toward Number 102 in a scorching slash that seemed to burn the very air. It was a merciless strike that threatened to cut her slender form in two, sending her flying, consuming her in flames, extinguishing her life—reducing everything to ash.As Blur watched this horrifying scene unfold, he cried out in anguish at his powerlessness—until everything shattered. Her lower half was replaced by a pool of cobalt blood that spread across the marble floor. Her bright blue eyes, once as clear as the summer sky, had turned dark and wild. Blood trailed from her lips, staining her chin, and her once pristine hair was drenched in blue. The sight of her lifeless form filled Blur with fear and despair. His gaze shifted back to the Klaus, which seemed to mock their helplessness with its wriggling form. A surge of anger and fear rose within Blur, and a burning determination ignited like a storm."I promise... I'll definitely save you," Blur muttered with newfound resolve. This was the first time he had witnessed someone being killed before his eyes, and it chilled him to the bone. He was helpless to prevent it, yet it felt eerily familiar, like a distorted memory from the past.An overwhelming urge to confront the pain and anger surged within him. He wanted to leap at the Klaus, to fight with all his might. But before he could act, an electric sensation coursed through his body, rendering him numb. His vision blurred, and he coughed up warm, salty blood.Blur realized that his lower body had disappeared, replaced by a pool of blood. Before he could comprehend what had happened, the Klaus lunged toward him, tearing his body apart piece by piece. The Klaur's mask split open, revealing a horrifying row of rotting teeth that enveloped Blur's limbs. With each bite, it devoured a part of his being, and Blur screamed in agony. The pain was unbearable, yet it gradually grew distant, dulled by some unknown force. Then, a blinding white light enveloped everything, blotting out the torment, the despair, the Klaur's monstrous form, and—
—my memories.
Drifting away like melting thoughts dissolving in an endless sea of white. It's almost comical, like a dream so vivid, yet upon waking, the details slip away. The senses remain, a touch of familiarity, a whisper of emotion, but the substance fades into the white abyss. It's like déjà vu—a feeling so profound, but the meaning, the essence, all of it eludes me. —What was it? What is it? The memories were elusive, leaving only the residue of a dream, an imprint on the canvas of my mind lost in the vastness of that fading sea of white.
