My sister and I

ICHINOSE POV

I am Ichinose Narukami.My father is Takeo of Narukami clan.My mother is Sakaya from Tange clan.I also have a twin sister.Her name is Ichika.I am five seconds older than her.

For my era it was quite rare for an other family to have twins.Mochizuki clan first two leaders were twins.The family was divided into main and branch family.Both families had equal rights.As a kid I didn't have any friends.Ichika was the only company I had.We would do anything together as kids.

When bullies would attack her in case things would get out of control I would take action.I knew my sister could take care of herself.One day my sister and I had a fight.She ran away from home.I realised how stupid I was.I blamed my self for what happened.I searched everywhere for her.

Until the night fell.I was lucky,I saw Ichika.I rushed to her.

"Oni chan..."

I just hugged her.

"Ichika,I am sorry.I am glad you came back."

I was lucky that my parents weren't to the shrine that day.The servants  were looking after us.

"Oni chan...I got lost into the forest but a boy appeared.He took my hand and we got out of the forest."

"Where is he now?"

"I do not know.I am sorry for running away."

I just patted her head.How can I be mad at my adorable little sister?

When we became seventeen our country was in war.We had to be separated from our parents for a bit.We moved to a house far away.

One day I had to leave.

"Ichinose?Are you leaving?"

"I need to assist father at the capital.I am sorry."

"Right now our father needs you.I will be alright.Take care brother."

"The same goes for you,sister."

The war ended in five months.It started in August and ended in December.Wakoku became indipented from the empire of Buyan.We celebrated for the victory in war.

"Ichika..."

"Yes?"

"Did something happen when I left to the capital?"

"No.I found an injured man.He was an ally and I took care of him.Then he left."

Ichika seemed sad.Could it be that?No,do not jump to conclusions.

When both of us became twenty five years old we had to find a fiance,get married and continue our legacy.

None of us was happy.

"Big brother,sometimes I wish I wasn't born in a clan.I could choose the man that I wanted to marry."

I knew how she felt.Only I could understand how she felt.I went to see father.

"Father...why can't I choose my bride?"

"Ichinose,one day you are going to become the head of our family.There are some rules we can't change."

"But father..."

"One the day will come you will understand the concept of sacrifice and what it means being the head of family.You must also prove that your are worth the title."

"I understand father.And forgive me for distrubing you.Good night."

"Good night my son."

I wish I had the guts to tell him that I would change my clan for good.A few days ago mum called lord Naoki Mochizuki with his son for dinner.

"Father,have you ever met lord Naoki?"

"No.I haven't.He was a classmate of your mother in the academy.He is the head of branch family of Mochizuki.His wife died years ago.She was a member of Arisato clan.And he has a son around your age."

"I will make sure to make a good impression,father."

Father hugged me.

"I apologize.I don't want neither my childen carry this burden.I appreciate your good work."

Mum told me that at first she and father denied the fact that they would get married.She fell in love with father when they got married.

Lord Naoki and his son arrived.His name was Ichiru.He had platinum blonde hair and green eyes.I introduced my self to them.I went to the bedroom to see my sister.

She looked elegant in that dress.She even thought that I teased her.But I didn't.When Ichika saw Ichiru I could see...I could sense that something was going to happen.
