Chapter 17:

The Breakdown

My Other Half

---------------------WARNING! MENTION OF BLOOD-----------------------

As soon, as our human girl entered the apartment, she just managed to cover her mouth, so she wouldn't scream at the whole residential building. A gruesome scene awaited her at home. A half-naked Beastman covered in blood from head to toe.

She was confused by what happened. She looked him up and down. She saw his own claws dipped in crimson red and the smell of booze was unmistakable. Was this his true self? What drove him to do something like this? Did he get into trouble?

Well, they did live together but she knew nothing about Ivaylo, just that he was some business Beastguy, whom she once helped. But she never saw anything like this. He never did anything like this in her presence. Something for sure must have happened.

Dazed Ivaylo managed to lift his head and gently smiled at her. "So out of character." she thought. But still, it was warm and charming. Only that, she saw it wasn't sincere, she knew he did that because he was overly drunk.

His head fell forward with his hair covering his face. "I didn't do it!" escaped from his lips. That piqued her attention. She calmed down, walked a little closer, and crouched down in front of him. Also making sure not to step into his blood. She lifted her head up to look at him.

Some clear liquid escaped his eyes, sparkling, while falling into the red puddle under him... Could it be? The girl cautiously reached out and brushed one side of his bangs behind his ear. He was crying... having a mental breakdown...

After some silence on both sides, she opened her mouth for a question. "What didn't you do?" Ivaylo lifted his head with eyes full of tears. "At work... I didn't attack her... that human woman... Not today and not before... Nobody believes me..."

She took an embroidered handkerchief out of her pocket and began to wipe the tears from his cheeks. That direct scent and warmth it contained, was soothing his inner pain. Flattening his ears, Ivaylo leaned with the face into her palm with the handkerchief. He desired more. Ivaylo was for so long touch deprived.

She was fully focused on his face and didn't see his hand lifting. He grabbed her wrist wrapping his fingers slowly around. She got startled and flinched. Ivaylo tried to stand up but the dizziness from the alcohol and blood loss made him lose his balance, falling on her pining her down under him.

"Are you okay? Hey?!" She was shouting at the unresponsive Ivaylo. He managed to lean on both of his forearms looking down on her. This direct physical contact and his drunken state made him do something unthinkable... Ivaylo kissed her out of nowhere.

WHAT?! She was surprised by this. Why did he do that?! Her cheeks flushed red trying to push him off of her. Meanwhile, she got warm all over her body. Ivaylo wasn't satisfied and repeated it. He kissed her once more but this time he was a little bit clumsy because of the booze and scraped her lip with his fang breaking the skin.

Blood mixed with his and her saliva made him greedy. Even using his tongue... locking his lips with hers. Her several attempts to push him down from her were unsuccessful. The human girl could feel him getting aroused from the kissing.

She wished for him to stop, not because it wasn't unpleasant, but because he needed some medical attention for his still bleeding shoulder. By this time she also was covered in his blood. Ivaylo slowly lost his last energy and slumped to the side.

Exactly at that time, the human male ran inside through the open door. That gruesome bloody scene got carved into his memory. He jumped toward the girl to help her. He was in the mindset, that Ivaylo attacked her and wounded her but she stopped him right there. "Don't scream! I am alright. This isn't my blood..."

The male pushed Ivaylo's limp body off of her. She did everything to not hurt Ivaylo further catching his head and body and slowing it down. "What the hell happened here?!" The young guy was spreading his arms around in a questioning manner... "Please close the door, we have a lot to do now. I don't want prying eyes to see him in this state."

That statement made him angry. "Why do you keep protecting him?! He hurt you, he was about to attack you yesterday and you still keep his side?! WAKE UP! Beastfolk aren't our allies..." She sighed. "If you won't help, then leave." That shut him up. "Okay, okay. Just tell me what to do next."

In a sitting position next to an unconscious Ivaylo, she thought for a little looking at his pain-ridden face. "You won't like it, but it can't be helped. Or I will have to do that by myself." The guy returned to the living room. "Like what?!" She innocently looked at him. "I will help you bring him over to the bathroom, you will give him a shower and then I will patch his wounds."

He rolled his eyes. "What did I do to deserve this?!" She stretched both her arms towards the entrance. "There is the door. You still can leave..." He stopped. "FINE!" Ivaylo wasn't the biggest species of the Beastman but still, he was much taller and heavier than an average human.

They both struggled to drag him over to the bathroom. The young lady turned on the lights and wished her buddy good luck. He glared at her and only complaints came out of his mouth. She didn't listen to it and just grabbed a bucket with some water, so she could clean the bloodied floor with it.

Her apartment looked like a murder scene and she felt weird cleaning it up. Like she would try to conceal a crime. The sound of running water snapped her out of her daze and she began to mop the floor until it was sparkling clean.

The guy still was busy in the shower with Ivaylo, so she took her time to grab the dirtied Kotatsu floormat and blanket and put them into a pile to be washed later. Not to forget changing into clean, unblooded clothes.

The water in the bathroom finally stopped...
