Chapter 0:

Last Day Alive

Psychopath in Another World

Hi, I'm Kuro.

The day I died, I was sitting alone in my room as usual, playing snakes and ladders using my victims' teeth as player pieces. The long canine tooth with traces of a developing cavity was Airi's. The small decayed molar was Hiroshi's. The one spotless front tooth (One which I envied) was Hana's. She was the one I loved the most, since she was the cleanest. Her skin smelled like soap and her hair was recently shampooed when I forcefully rubbed her face against a pile of smashed blades. Even her blood smelled good.

I rolled the dice on Hana's turn, not knowing then that it would be my last roll, and her piece progressed past everyone else's when the doorbell rang, after which I heard a faint voice coming from outside the door downstairs.

"Police! Open the door!"

I froze in shock.

How? How did they find out?

I'd done everything to hide the bodies properly, and had made sure there were no witnesses. How did the police track the murders back to me?

I looked up at the ceiling, the doorbell ringing repeatedly downstairs. Is this the end of it all? Is this how it feels to be caught? I never imagined this would happen to me. It shouldn't have, not to someone who was this careful.

"We're breaking in!" Came the voice from below.

I heard the door being slammed open with a huge thud, footsteps running towards the stairs. In a few seconds they would apprehend me and it would be over. They would find the bodies and probably sentence me to death. Just like that, it would be all over.

One last time, I looked around my room. It was a normal looking room, one any teenager my age could've been living in. But the difference was that this room had the bodies of three of my classmates hidden within it's walls.

I heard the footsteps running up the stairs. Only a few moments left before my room door would open. Making up my mind, I quickly ran up to my desk and grabbed a pocket knife placed on it. I wouldn't give up without a fight.

The footsteps came closer and closer, and then stopped. I gripped the knife tight in my right hand, ready to react.

Suddenly, the door swung open, and screaming, I threw myself towards an officer who entered inside, stabbing him in the neck repeatedly. His blood sprayed on the walls as he stumbled downward. The officers behind immediately pointed their guns up at my face before-

A loud bang and a momentary surge of excruciating pain in my forehead before it all went dark.
