Another Dimension (Bonus Chapter)

In a dimension parallel to our own (let us call this dimension 1) magical powers suddenly started to exist one day about ten years ago. Scholars believed that the power came from Stonehenge and other ancient monuments laid down by entities that ruled the earth long before the time of humans.

In dimension 1, a fierce battle raged between the evil scientist Genji Takeda and the intergovernmental group, Step Up - a group of teenagers trained in government work. Step Up's main fighting force consisted of taciturn Itsuki Hatano, eternally grumpy Vincent Pemberton and cheerful former ninja Kanato Suzuka.

Often, Genji's son Shousuke - a hulking creature who was part tortoise due to multiple experiments by his father - would come and fight them personally, but once his weakness to sunlight was exposed, he was easily defeated.

However, after Shousuke had gotten fed up of following his father's instructions, Genji had finished work on a dimension travelling machine. The professor sent his son through dimensions after they had an argument, to a world where powers never existed (let us call this dimension 2).

It was during this time that La Luna came into being in this dimension, due to the multidimensional discrepancy and general discontent the machine caused in the world.

Luna saved a sickly young man from dimension 2 while its physical form stabilised. At first, it was a nebulous, thick snowstorm that appeared in random locations, until it settled on exclusively a fox form and worked to establish the anchor/magician system to support the young man and his girlfriend.

Believing its creator was also worthy of powers, Luna bestowed super speed upon Genji and Shousuke, hoping that could fix their relationship. (Unfortunately, due to the lack of trust between the two at the time, the professor's transformed form became his usual clothing.)

Superpowers don't fix relationships, though. The sudden need to work together only made things worse, and Shousuke - now in most respects a tortoise - escaped into dimension 2 more and more. Genji kept trying to win his son back, to the point where he hired Natalia and Paula to check on Shousuke, but eventually he had no choice but to follow his son into dimension 2 as well.

...and so their tale continued to unfold in dimension 2 in the present day, with a boy and girl trying to avoid the summer snowstorm...
