Chapter 23:

Sayonara n Goodnight

Saga of Saturn: Benevolent Processor

As they drifted weightlessly in this surreal realm, their bodies being stripped of their clothing added to the disorienting nature of their surroundings. They were like ethereal beings, suspended in a state of pure energy, their physical forms transcending the boundaries of the material world.

“Woaah im naked! Oooo you’re naked too Hisi!” Saturn exclaimed.

“We’re in Zero dimension now.”

“Huuuuuuh?? Zero demniom?”

“D-i-m-e-n-s-i-o-n Saturn Dimension. The place we were birthed.”

“Woow so what now?” Saturn asked.

Without uttering a single word, Histoikie conveyed the next steps to Saturn through a series of fluid movements. With graceful motions, she flew over to Saturn, her movements reminiscent of a swimmer navigating through water. As she reached Saturn, she embraced her, wrapping her arms around her form.

Saturn anticipated an awkward sensation as their bare skins touched, but to her surprise, their bodies felt senseless, devoid of any tactile sensation.Together, they floated in the boundless expanse of the white abyss.

As Histoikie shed a few tears, she began to speak in words unknown to Saturn, her voice trembling with emotion. Suddenly, she stopped and swam over to Saturn, holding both her hands gently in hers.

"Saturn Santuria of Plansanturia..." Histoikie whispered, her voice choked with feeling.

"Hey, that rhymed! Hehe!" Saturn interjected with a light-hearted chuckle.

Ignoring Saturn's remark, Histoikie continued, her tone solemn yet determined. "I, Histoikie Santuria, grant thee the name Historie, and I shall bestow upon thee the name of the Gods, Velvet. I'll miss you, Saturn, but soon a new motherboard will come, and I know she will take good care of Plansanturia for me."

"Chotto matte kudasai , and pardon my use of Japanese in this current moment, but what do you mean you'll miss me?" Saturn asked. "I did say I will be part of you and you a part of me... for whatever good that would do me," Histoikie remarked with a hint of resignation.

"Won't I hear you blabbing on and lecturing me all night over something dumb I did?" Saturn retorted, a playful smirk dancing on her lips.

"Hold on, you realize the things you do are dumb?" Histoikie asked back in a less cheerful tone, her disappointment palpable.

"Oops, well yeah, hehe," Saturn replied under her breath, her tone sheepish. The disappointment was immediately clear on Histoikie's face, and she started to wonder just how much Saturn purposely wound her up.

Despite the moment's tension, Histoikie began to smile, reminiscing on the past she spent not just with Saturn, but with all the other processors and candidates before them. "How long will we sit here?" Saturn asked, her voice echoing softly in the empty expanse.

"It all depends on how long it will take for your soul to be accepted as the Divine being of Plansanturia and until your heart accepts the weight this brings," Histoikie replied.

"So it can be five minutes or a millennia?" Saturn queried.

"Millennia? Looks like this already is making you mature up haha!" Histoikie chuckled, her laughter a rare moment of levity in their solemn surroundings. Saturn couldn't help but smile, a surge of warmth filling her being. She leaned in and enveloped Histoikie in a heartfelt embrace.Saturn held Histoikie tightly, but to her astonishment, she began to phase through her friend's body.

"Eh? What's going on?" Saturn panicked, her voice tinged with confusion and fear.

Histoikie, streams of tears evaporating from her eyes into millions of crystal-like particles, slowly waved at Saturn. She attempted to reach back out to her friend, but she started drifting away in the opposite direction. As her body began to regain sensation and her clothes reappeared, Saturn felt a strange warmth spreading from her chest to her throat, akin to lovesickness. Her entire being tingled with an unfamiliar sensation, and she felt a surge of energy coursing through her veins.

Her advanced appearance underwent a dramatic transformation. Her hair, now a lighter shade of purple with a hint of light blue, cascaded down in loose twin tails, longer than before. The mechanical cat ears, previously in their orb form, extended in four directions, while her black bodysuit now covered her body completely, with purple mesh appearing on her stomach and thighs. Blue outlines accentuated the mesh, giving her an ethereal glow.

Saturn had undergone a transformation that very few processors had the opportunity to experience: the Sole Sovereign Drive. Saturn, having undergone her transformation, found herself abruptly thrown into a rapidly flashing tube. Angling straight down, it seemed to stretch into infinity, with no end in sight. As she hurtled downward, her screams of fear were drowned out by the rapid passage of air. The sensation of free fall dulled her senses, and the velocity only increased with each passing moment. "HISTOIKIE! ONCE I HIT THE GROUND AND DIE, I'LL FIND YAA!" Saturn's voice echoed through the tube as she continued screaming. Suddenly, a small glitter of light appeared at the bottom of the tube. Reacting quickly, she repositioned herself in midair, aiming her legs down to accommodate for the fall. Just as she neared the light, the entire tube disappeared, and she found herself floating once again in the empty abyss."Huh? I'm back here," Saturn muttered to herself as she swam around until some sense of gravity returned, and her feet met the white ground. She looked around, confused, and walked forward until she was met with a mirror. There, she admired her newly transformed look, marveling at the appearance of an SSD-powered processor. As she struck a few poses and inspected the mirror so closely that her nose touched it, she spotted a reflection of a black door handle on the right.

Turning around, she found the handle missing, but its reflection remained. Walking backward, she stared at the mirror and reached out blindly forward to grab the handle. Although she felt it, she couldn't see it in front. With a determined pull, she opened up a path to a completely black abyss.

Taking a step back, Saturn gathered her courage and, with a run-up, jumped straight in, landing back on her feet on the other side.

"So you're the sixth-gen processor, eh?" A surprising voice called out in the darkness. Saturn, unfazed, stood and looked toward the direction from which the sound came. Suddenly, a spotlight shone right on top of her, as if an actor had appeared on stage. Another light illuminated the person who called out before.

"You look familiar," Saturn stated.

"Hmm, I do?"

"Yeah, like this woman I saw on some wall in a museum before, which Wumi rambled on about for..." Saturn froze, her mind racing. The woman in front looked at her with a blank face, confusion evident.

"Yaho! Uranus to Saturn. Calling in!" The woman spoke.

"Uran, that's your name, but my friend Wumi is in trouble and... my sister, she..." Saturn dropped to her knees, remembering everything happening just outside the dimension she was in. Uran walked up to her and picked her up.

"Pretty short, these new-gen processors, eh? 163 cm? Transformed too when you're not, then you'll probably be like 5'02" height. Hmm, that's like... eh, math isn't my strong point. I'll say 157.48 cm."

"You're very accurate for someone who is 'not good' at math," Saturn pointed out.

"Hehe, well, you know, not to brag, I suppose. Also, the door is that way to get back to our dimension," Uran pointed to a red door to their right.Saturn looked at it and immediately ran off, swinging the door open to reveal yet another white abyss.

"Oyyy Satu-chan. Come back to me sometime; these other processors and gods are boring as hell," Uran shouted.

Saturn turned around and giggled, giving a large wave while wondering how she would even return to this place, or if it was even possible.

"One more thing!" Uran called out. "You make that Rudolf and his jockey shout until his lungs collapse. Also, tell him Ave mi amore Rud Rud." With that, Saturn nodded and stepped out, closing the door shut behind her. Saturn's world began to dim, smudges of color populating the environment. Slowly, the blank canvas turned into a saddening painting with shades of blue and red. Her body rose up, and the orb dissipated. She landed back onto the floor, her eyes adjusting to the surroundings. Gracefully, she stretched her hand out to her right, and a large white longsword manifested for her to grab. Straightening it out, she pointed its tip straight at Rudolf's head. Her right foot moved back, lifting her left arm to gracefully position it under the blade, as if she reached out for his hand. Then, she lifted her head, and out erupted a pair of giant wings, so black they seemed to eat all color around them.

"Rudolf Heartbalze. I, Saturn Historie Velvet Santuria, damn that's a long damn name, call you forth to fight till death and conquer all of one's land."

Rudolf burst out laughing as if he had just witnessed a comedy skit unfold before him.

"Saturn Santuria, you want to fight for everything? Sure. And let me tell you, you sure took your time in there HA HA. A little longer and I would've had some fun with your so dear sis," Rudolf mocked Saturn. The mere mention of her little sister being touched by the man completely changed her expression from seriousness to disgust and anger. She tried to control herself, but just his presence alone put her in her maniacal state.

"RUDOLF HEARTBLAZE. I'LL RID YOU OF THIS DIMENSION!" She screamed with all her might, launching an aggressive barrage of attacks from all directions at his body.

Saturn speed was unmatched to before. Her relentless strikes with her sword bit by bit sliced Rudolf before he could blink or ever try to move. She danced like a ballet and maneuvered round every attempt of attack from Rudolf. Saturn purposely slowed down and started to mock Rudolf's abilities. The fire in his eyes started to ignite like the day of the first fight. Each clash cracked Rudolf's sword and he constantly summoned a new weapon to fight. Every strike that met one another blade struck sparks the size of fireworks. Saturn hopped back with a smile on her face.

"Ave mi amore Rud Rud," Saturn's voice echoed through the chamber, carrying with it a weight of anticipation. Rudolf's demeanor shifted instantly at the sound of those words. The dormant flames within him roared back to life, fueled by Saturn's taunt. In an instant, he cast aside his sword, surrendering to the raging inferno that consumed him.

Transformed into the fiery beast she once faced, Rudolf summoned a massive hammer, swinging it wildly in an attempt to crush Saturn beneath its weight. His movements were erratic, any precision of their earlier duel. The flames surrounding him danced with wild abandon. Saturn, harnessing the power of her Sole Sovereign Drive form, controlled into the collective faith of her followers, drawing strength from their unwavering belief in her cause. With newfound vigor coursing through her veins, she channeled this energy throughout her cores, each pulse igniting her with a divine fervor.

As she delved deeper into her SSD form, Saturn unlocked new potential abilities. With a mere thought, she shifted through the fabric of time and space, effortlessly traversing the battlefield at will. Phasing in and out of existence, she appeared before Rudolf with a flicker of movement, her strikes landing with pinpoint accuracy on his most vulnerable spots. With each encounter, Saturn's confidence soared, her movements fluid and precise as she toyed with Rudolf, exploiting every opening with ease.

Saturn's demeanor shifted from playful mockery to primal ferocity as she unleashed a flurry of savage strikes upon Rudolf. With each slice, she severed a limb, methodically dismantling his once-formidable form. The air filled with the sickening sound of flesh being rent asunder and the scent of blood permeated the space around them.

First, his right arm fell to the ground, followed by his left leg, then his right, each strike precise and unforgiving. Rudolf's body convulsed in agony as he was reduced to a mere shell of his former self, his screams echoing through the chamber. With a final, decisive blow, Saturn severed his remaining left arm, leaving him helpless and bleeding on the ground.

Standing atop his torso, Saturn demanded answers, her voice dripping with menace. "Where is Lumi Illandice?"

Rudolf, barely able to speak through the pain, managed to choke out a response. "In that room. She is in that room."

But before Saturn could react, a voice echoed in her mind, a warning that saved her from a treacherous ambush. Instinctively, she spun around, narrowly deflecting Rudolf's spear as it lunged towards her. With a surge of adrenaline, Saturn leaped back onto Rudolf's prone body, driving her sword deep into his heart, ending his tortured existence once and for all.

As Rudolf's lifeblood spilled onto the floor, Saturn turned her gaze towards the door, her determination unyielding. She knew that Lumi's fate hung in the balance, and she would stop at nothing to rescue her from the clutches of her captors.

Saturn opened the door to find Lumi lying on the floor, bound by energy channeling wires and looking beaten and helpless. "This is why Miho was turning," Saturn thought to herself. She quickly freed Lumi, who woke up in a flash, full of energy.

"Saturn?" Lumi's voice was weak but filled with relief.

"Wumi!" Saturn exclaimed, embracing her friend tightly.

"Oi, you brat, let go of me... you're choking me!" Lumi protested, her tone unchanged despite the circumstances.

Realizing that the danger had passed and her friend was safe, Saturn reverted back to her normal self, although with some subtle changes. Her long lilac hair now fell in soft waves around her shoulders, framing her face in a new way. Her attire had shifted as well, now wearing a black one-piece parka dress with turquoise accents and black and turquoise pockets. The sleeves had double light blue stripes, and the ends of the sleeves and bottom of the dress featured black and orange stripes. Her high thigh socks were gone, replaced by black and turquoise shoes.

"Check me out, Wumi! I'm like a more grown-up version now, hihi. And look at these," Saturn said, pointing to her chest with a grin. "D-cup, baby!"

Lumi raised an eyebrow, her skepticism evident. "How did you change so much in such a short time? Was it really just a day?" she questioned.

Saturn grabbed Lumi's hand and eagerly pulled her outside, brimming with excitement. She rushed over to Plutonia, who was now fully healed from the ordeal earlier. Carefully, Saturn lifted her sister's head and cradled it in her lap, gazing down at her with admiration.

"What happened here?" Lumi inquired, her brow furrowed in concern.

"Before I finished off Rudolf, I got a bit careless, and, well... heh, if it weren't for my sister, everyone here would be dead... I suppose," Saturn admitted with a sheepish grin.

Lumi sighed, a mixture of relief and exasperation evident in her expression.

"Anyway, moving on. How did you even get captured?" Saturn asked, eager to change the subject.

"My ship broke down halfway, and one of Polanoire's cruisers decided to snatch me up. They were after the rings, which is why they were in the vicinity in the first place," Lumi explained matter-of-factly.

"Oh, and by the way, we're currently in a war with Polanoire," Saturn added casually.

"WAWAWAWA HUH! What the hell did you do, you damn brat! I leave for one second, and the next thing I know, my damn nation is at war because your two brain cells couldn't come to an agreement!" Lumi exclaimed in disbelief, her voice rising with each word.

"It was Starlessimia's idea," Saturn replied, deflecting the blame.

"Really?" Lumi asked, her incredulity growing.

"Umm, I think so. I don't really remember," Saturn admitted sheepishly.

Lumi sighed, taking in the drastic changes that had occurred in the galaxy during her absence.

Plutonia finally awoke to the sight of Saturn's face gazing down at her with concern. A smile spread across her lips as she rose to her feet, extending a fist toward her sister. Saturn met it with her own, and they shared a quick fist bump, a silent exchange of solidarity.

But then, unexpectedly, Plutonia's composure shattered, and tears began to stream down her cheeks. She cried out Saturn's name over and over, overwhelmed with relief and emotion.

The others chuckled warmly at the sight, their laughter filling the air as they prepared to leave. But Saturn paused for a moment, her gaze lingering on Rudolf's fallen form. With determined steps, she approached him, kneeling down to search his pockets. After a brief moment, she retrieved the Nation key, holding it in her hands with a steely resolve.

"A deal is a deal, Rud Rud," she declared firmly, before swiftly snapping the key in two, Passing on the nation of Polanoire to direct control under Plansanturia.
