Chapter 1:

Roy Fang

To You On The Other Side of the Screen

The name is Roy Fang. Currently a seventeen year-old high school student with an
addiction to the internet. Although that may make me sound like a loner, it’s actually quite the opposite.

At least on the surface it is.

I manage to mingle myself into different cliques here and there. Conversations flow smoothly regardless of which group I blend myself into. Guess that makes me like a chameleon huh?

Not that I'm complaining about the “feeling” of fitting in. It can be comforting
at times here and there.

Being surrounded makes me feel like I’m never alone. If you ask me,
being alone is the absolute worst feeling a person can experience.

Whether everyone leaves you, or you leave everyone.

It hurts all the damn same.

Despite being sociable in the sense that I have friends, by no means does that
qualify as “popular.” In the case that I was, I wouldn’t have to rely on the internet so much. Instead of turning to memes and online lobbies for entertainment, I would've been invited to all those events they hold at my school. Unfortunately, that isn't the  case but it's not my place to complain.

My crippling social problems aside, I wouldn't say life is that bad. I manage to scrape by with the bare minimum. Criticise me all you want, I just have other priorities. It's
the elderly always telling us to enjoy our youth right?

If that's the case, just think that I'm taking some elderly wisdom to heart.
