Chapter 0:

The Lake prompts a Meeting

This Lady shall become an Elven Citizen!

When a person falls, they expect to hit the ground beneath their feet and experience pain. However, in Felicia Evan's current situation, she sinks into the street she's walking on just before midnight, and suffocates between concrete and asphalt layers below her soles. Her strange death brought her life in the big city as a new, quality model just out of high school to an abrupt close. When the police investigate, all they can find is a set of clothes, the black backpack she wore on her back and black sunglasses that covered her eyes.

Felicia Evan's body simply disappears from existence. There aren't many collaborators to confirm her tale, but those that are there say that's what happened. The police warrant her death to a sinkhole and a loss of the body afterwards, but that matters little to the girl as she wakes up in an entirely separate place.

Her body stands up firmly, placing her atop an earthy lawn. No grove, she realized as she denoted tall, thick trees in a forest. "Am I not in the city anymore?" She walks a few hundred feet only to come across a lake and see her stark naked form as she gazes down upon its surface. But realizes she's not alone!

On the other side of this lake, a huge man hunched over the water and they can see themselves in the lake. "No, he couldn't be a man," she told herself as he leapt across it and landed on her side. Whatever this creature's motive, his green frame released a roar and paralyzed her on the spot as she turned to face him. She understands death is only before her as the monster advances, hoping to scoop her up in its enormous hand and crush her.

She releases a scream of her own until a smaller man dashes from behind the creature's line of sight and cleaves the monster's spine with a small, iron hand axe. It falls over with a loud thump. She remains in shock as a young man in a brown and white fire coat demands, "What are you doing here, elf? Don't you know the Greene Forest is full of dangerous ogres like this one?"

"Greene Forest? I don't know that place or what you're talking about? I'm a human named Felicia Even." She stamps her foot down hard, causing her free breasts to jostle about in her chest.

The man blushes, then forcibly turns her around. Felicia screams at the face she now sees. It isn't hers now!

Normally she's a gorgeous human woman of 5"5', but now stands at 5"9' yet with a more pointed face, ears and breasts; let's say the beauty of an elf graces her body. She possessed orange hair originally, but instead of keeping the honey brown eyes she remembers, her current eye color has become a vibrant purple. Her pristine white skin from her past life remains, but now glows with an ethereal sense of cleanliness. She collapses to the ground crying, "Who the hell is this?" Someone had swapped her body out for this one.

The man standing beside her now turns his brown hair and green eyes in a different direction and states, "I don't have any clue why you're up in arms about your appearance, but that name Felicia Evan can't be yours. It's way too human and you're definitely a full-bodied elf."

Felicia rises and sighs, "You're right; my name isn't that. It's Firth Eirlia, the Narrow Strait, Water Walker." Somehow such knowledge filled her mind, despite not having ever lived as this person's body nor with them.

"Are you lost?"

She nods. "Lost, naked and without a purpose, as far as I can remember." She has to play the amnesia card.

"Then do me a favor, please?" the man asks.

"What favor?"

"After I bring you to my town, oh great elf Firth Eirlia, please become my wife." The man bows to her on one knee with hands clasped. "My town needs the protection of a forest dweller. And you, well, fit that situation."

Felicia, now called Firth, turns around once more, but this time prepared to kick his face in; however, the young man's tears stream down his cheeks as he reveals a satchel and a long white bed sheet for her to use. She doesn't really know what to say, but starts with, "I suppose you've shown me kindness by rescuing me." She weaves the surrounding blanket to form a makeshift dress tied down at her left shoulder blade and right hip. "I will at least come to this village to see what nonsense you speak of concerning marriage and needing my help. But I won't marry you there until I see this place for myself. Do you understand me? I have an elven village of my own to return to if it doesn't satisfy my stringent tastes good sir."

The man's eyes light up as he stands, jumping with joy soon after, "You've made your new husband Marcus Flynn so happy! I can't wait to show you around the land of Avalonia!" Even though she lied, Felicia is happy to gain a home to stay at, at the cost of this marriage to this weird boy. She doesn't know the world she's in, and he's her greatest link to it now. She needs to follow him home and attain as much information as possible concerning her displacement from Earth to wherever this world is now.
