Chapter 20:

A suspicious person. [Arc 2 end]

The Lifeless Supermoon: A fateful encounter

At that moment, he felt an unpleasant presence. He felt that one of his hands were grabbed by someone.

"Excuse me, this is my seat.", Kanako calmly said, gripping his hand so tightly that it stopped the blood flow of his hand and lifting it off the table, asserting his dominance.

"Who gave you the permission to talk to her?", Kanako added.

He felt the pressure to be immense. Kanako's physique was good, and he was angry at him too. He was sure that Kanako was stronger than him.

"Tsk.", he said, before shaking off his hand and going away.

Kanako calmly reclaimed the throne of his, in front of Ayane.

"Sorry, did it scare you?"

"Just a little."

"Sorry. I should have been more careful about it."

"It's not your fault."

"Start eating your ice cream, its gonna melt.", he said, putting down the ice cream to the table. He shook off that thug with only one hand and the other hand was holding the ice cream tray.

Soon enough, their date came to an end. It was almost evening, the the sun was going to set soon. The red hue covered the sky, as they were walking towards the train station.

"It was fun today. It refreshed my mind. Thank you.", Ayane said.

"That was the least I could do."

Travelling on the train, they saw the sunset by the window. It was truly a sight to behold. Kanako couldn't miss this chance as he took another photo of the sunset.

Ayane was still appreciating the enthusiasm of Kanako, and she wanted the same enthusiasm to her work, but it seemingly died out.

"Its nice huh? To have enthusiasm like that."

"What do you mean?"

"You eyes glitter when u take photos. I can see it. I wonder if I have lost that. Maybe I have."

"You cannot lead you life on guesses. If you are confused, jump onto it head on and find out. Either you succeed and find an answer, or you die trying. To die like that is brave, and bravery is rare in this world."

Sometimes, Kanako becomes a poet, saying things on a different perspective. Those words are deep, hits in the spot and motivates not only her but also everyone.

"Thanks."

Getting off the train station, Kanako was escorting Ayane to her home. It was almost becoming nighttime, and the red hue almost disappeared. In the midst of it, Kanako suddenly stopped and called out to her.

"Ayane-chan."

"What?", she looked back.

"I have something for you."

He slowly approached her. She was a little bit confused as to what he had for her.

"Could you please take out your hand and close your eyes?"

"Okay."

Kanako put something on her hand. It felt like a paper, but it was awfully thick and hard.

"What is this?", she said with her eyes closed.

"You can open you eyes now."

She opened her eyes. She was surprised. It was not the kind of gift she was expecting.

"Its the picture of me on that day, isn't it?", she asked.

"It is. I thought to give it to you. It's special, isnt it?"

"It surely is!", she said with a smile.

Kanako escorted Ayane to her house, when they passed by a person, who was wearing a long black coat and whose face could not be seen.

"So you can't pay me up but you can go on a date, huh?", it murmured, as it went away.
