Chapter 4:

Solvo Potentiam

Akihabara DEEP.

Alone in my dimly lit apartment, I sat hunched over my laptop, fingers tapping away at the keyboard as I navigated through the digital expanse of LookForIt, the search engine of choice for otaku like myself.

With each keystroke, I hoped to uncover some shred of information that might shed light on the cryptic events of the past few days.

I typed in the word "error," the same term Komugitan had used to describe the monstrous entity, and hit enter, the familiar blue and white interface yielding a myriad of search results.

My heart raced as I scanned through the listings, hoping to find a clue, a lead—anything that might help me make sense of the chaos swirling around me.

But as I scrolled through page after page of irrelevant links and clickbait articles, a sense of frustration began to gnaw at me.

It seemed that no matter how hard I searched, the answers I sought remained tantalizingly out of reach.

I tried refining my search terms, adding modifiers and filters in a desperate attempt to narrow down the results.

But with each futile attempt, my frustration grew, until I was left staring at the glowing screen in defeat.

I closed my laptop with a defeated sigh, I knew that I couldn't stay cooped up in my apartment forever.

Despite the dead end in my online search, I needed to face the outside world once more.

With a sense of resignation, I slipped on my shoes and headed out into the bustling streets of Akiba.

The maid girls passing out flyers and cacophony of sounds greeted me like an old friend, but today, they offered no comfort.

I walked aimlessly, lost in thought as I tried to make sense of the events of the past few days. Why had Komugitan called me an error? And why had she stabbed me? The questions swirled in my mind, but the answers remained frustratingly out of reach.

Lost in my thoughts, I barely noticed as I wandered into a quieter part of the city.

It was there, amidst the dimly lit alleyways and deserted streets, that I saw it.

An error.

My heart pounded in my chest as I recognized the grotesque figure before me. Its twisted form flickered in and out of existence, a manifestation of chaos and distortion.

But to my surprise, the creature made no move to attack me.

Instead, it seemed to be searching for something, its bloodshot eyes scanning the darkness.

I backed away slowly, my mind racing with fear and confusion.

Why was an error here? And what did it want?

Suddenly, a familiar voice cut through the silence, sending a chill down my spine.

"Hey, is someone there?"

I turned to see Komugitan emerge from the shadows, her eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that made my blood run cold.

I panicked, scrambling to hide behind a nearby car as she approached.

And then, in a voice that sent shivers down my spine, she spoke.

"--Solvo. Potentiam."

The words echoed in my mind, cryptic and unsettling. What did they mean? And why had she said them to me?

But before I could make sense of it all, Komugitan turned and disappeared into the night, leaving me alone with my thoughts and a growing sense of dread.
