Chapter 13:

Clever Hunter

Venti

As they trudged through the perilous depths of the haunted forest, the rain persisted, cascading upon them with relentless force. Each droplet found its way through the cracks of their clothing, seeping into their very pores, sending shivers down their spines. The rhythmic pattering of raindrops against the foliage created an eerie symphony, the chilling melody echoing through the dense thicket.
The forest itself seemed to twist and contort, taking on an even more sinister visage with each step they took. The gnarled trees, their branches reaching out like skeletal fingers, appeared to leer at them from the shadows. Vines slithered across the forest floor, their sinewy tendrils extending as if seeking to ensnare their unsuspecting prey. The air grew heavy, pregnant with an unmistakable aura of malevolence, weighing down on their senses.
With Aroan perched lightly on his shoulders, Venti's anxiety lessened, his burden reduced to a mere whisper. He attempted to channel the powers of his mentor, seeking to summon the winds and whisk them away from this eerie place. But mid-way through his attempt, a sense of foreboding washed over him. He froze, his body still, his breath held, as he caught sight of flickering red lights, akin to the glow of fireflies, crackling in his peripheral vision. A surge of unknown powers seemed to emanate from them, causing Venti to shudder in unease. With bated breath, he remained motionless, praying that whatever lurked in the shadows would pass them by. After a few tense moments, the lights fluttered away, their presence fading into the night. Venti released a sigh of relief and crouched low, urging them to quicken their pace.
The distant sounds of destruction reached their ears, the rumbling of monstrous beings tearing through the forest, their roars echoing in the night. Venti guided them stealthily towards their home base, the headquarters of Genshin Impact, hoping to find solace and safety within its walls. However, as they approached, a figure emerged from the darkness. It was Len, the witch girl, her dark magic crackling with destructive energy, ready to shatter any chance of escape. She wore a wicked smile upon her face, her bare feet stepping lightly upon the debris-strewn ground.
Aroan stirred, his gaze fixated on Len's feet, drawn to the sight before him. He let out a small yawn and a contented moan, as if comforted by the presence of "mommy feet." Venti, a mix of anger and frustration, quickly covered Aroan's mouth, urging him to remain silent. Len's gaze darted sharply to her right, her suspicions aroused, but there was no one to be seen. She scoffed, her hand reaching for a slender knife, as she embarked on a barefoot pursuit, determined to track them down, her senses sharpened by dark intent.
