Chapter 52:

Clara's Affection

Voice Academy Diaries

From Clara's perspective

I always thought Eric was a nice guy, but a bit dull.

Lately, though, he's become a bit meaner and commands with a bit more authority.

Hee hee, he told me today to come along with him on a demon hunt, so of course, I went with him.

It's like he invited me to go strawberry picking, with such a nonchalant attitude about something so frightening.

He's so wild and charming.

It makes me want to follow him.

And he really does slash through demons left and right, such an exciting man.

And giggles, this is our little secret.

I've uncovered one of his secrets.

Oh, how thrilling.

With him, I'd follow to the ends of hell.

I know we're that painfully cheesy couple.

But I can't help loving the thrill of such an exciting romance.

And doesn't he remind me a bit of that mean girl? Or is it just me?

Well, never mind.

It's an annoying trait in a woman, but pretty cool in a man.

The cheeky demon Zarastro starts his monologue.

"Annihilation? Hmph. You think you humans can defeat me? I have important matters to attend to, so I'll finish you in five minutes."

"Well, I'll defeat you in one minute," Eric retorts.

"Aaaaah! Go, Eric!"

Oops, I couldn't help but cheer him on.

The battle of magic begins between Eric and Zarastro.

"Master Thunder!"

"Not so fast! Master Earth!"

Their opposing elemental magics collide head-on.

"I've won this duel!" smirks the demon.

As if Eric would lose?

No way.

But contrary to my belief, Master Earth's power grows, and Eric starts to be overwhelmed.

Sweat forms on my palms.

"It seems you were all talk!"

"Is that so?"

Suddenly, Eric's thunder magic intensifies.

"What?"

"I was just testing you. Didn’t you realize? Die regretting ever fighting me."

Master Thunder gradually begins to overpower Master Earth.

"No! I don't want to die! Please, stop the magic!"

"Did any of your victims beg like you are now?"

Zarastro receives the full brunt of the electric shock.

"Arrgh!"

The demon is charred black.

"Phew. To think Zarastro had such power... We'll need more training and vocal exercises to defeat Tartini."

As strong as he is now, his ambition makes me fall for him even more.

"By the way, what was that 'important matter' he mentioned?"

"Who knows?"

Regardless, our fun forest picnic date is over, and we head home.
