Chapter 207:

Year 2: Epilogue

The Children of Eris

Since arriving to observe Aangapea, Harmonia had done little but sit and watch with Eris and Loki.

Nor did she want to do anything.

Balance was a delicate thing to maintain, but it was in her nature to maintain it, no matter what.

An obsessive compulsion to correct and position everything perfectly, to ensure complete harmony in all things, whether the items on a table or the balance of power in a war.

Loki was the trickster Goddess; she loved to play pranks and mess with other people, especially her fellow Greater Gods.

Eris was chaos and strife embodied.

Themis, who had ascended to become a Greater God, was an anomaly.

She cared for nothing.

Acted for nothing.

And did not even watch over her own world, a sacred duty that she held and once performed religiously.

Or so it seemed.

“Themis.”

The Goddess dressed like a nun remain motionless in a pool of liquid.

“What did Loki ask of you?”

Themis remained silent.

Harmonia tapped her golden staff against the floor of the Endless Space and a piercing sound echoed throughout the place, slowly fading into the background until it vanished.

Themis remained still.

“…I see.” Harmonia smiled. “That’s what she’s done.”

To that, Themis reacted.

It was a slight tremor, but Harmonia spotted it and laughed gently at it.

“Now I understand,” Harmonia mused. “…Interesting.” She lightly touched her own chest with two fingertips. “This revelation raised my heartrate slightly. Eris, your game might not go the way you want it to.”
