Chapter 5: Cursed blessing

Caelus would’ve surely died if not for the interception of the azure greatsword, “ Seems like you need some help,” Cass remarks, pushing the demon back, “ so what exactly am I fighting here?” he asks helping me up, “ some demon dude that was sealed here years ago by Star,” Cass would be the one to reengage the demon pacing himself enough to swing the greatsword and much like Agrai, Cass was able to swing the heavy blade with somewhat ease, the demon uses two swords to contest Cass while jabbing at him the other two which made fighting it in close combat tough. My legs and arms give out but I manage to sit up, who knows when I’d get to see Cass fight something like this again. The sound of the blades crashing echoed the room, when the demon was able to strike downward at Cass, in doing so it played into his plan of parrying the blade to the side, giving him to opening needed to sever its upper left arm which was more than enough to make the demon realize Cass isn’t somebody he can take lightly, the two stood far from the other, waiting for one to make the first move, Cass did so. He had lunged to the side as the demon moved its right upper palm to face the floor in one swift move and where Cass had been the ground broke under a tremendous pressure, its affinity was gravity and it had a good grasp over this as it was able to alter its own gravity, making it lighter and faster, despite this Cass seemed unfazed by this and was still able to keep up, if anything he was more focused than before. It would abandon another sword, this time his upper right hand suddenly burst into flames, it was capable of wielding two affinities, it threw a ball of fire with a heat so immense I could feel it despite being a good distance away, through this act Cass was caught in the gravity increase allowing the demon to land a cut on his face, nothing too dangerous. The combination of ranged attacks would prove troublesome to Cass, “ wow, two affinities, fancy,” Cass remarks, completely disregarding the threat he is facing, “ now watch closely, this’ll end in two final swings,” Cass says, taking a ready stance as if inviting the demon to strike first, in which it did, it locks him in place by increasing the gravity around him. And it was like he said, the battle had ended in two swings. Cass was able to disarm the demon in one swing before its attack could land, the second carved the demon diagonally, leaving a large cut in the stone wall despite doing what seemed to be a normal slash. Cass takes a step back letting the split demon body fall to the ground, with what little life it had it spoke its final sentence, “ I have read into you…through this battle,” the demon says laughing, “ you will be forced to chose…when that time comes you will know what true despair feels like!” the demon trails off laughing once again, the cut on his cheek glowing a deep red suddenly causing it to turn into a scar as it seemingly healed, it also seems he had been cursed but what it did we didn’t know. “ Its a good thing this thing was practically running off fumes of its power, otherwise we’d probably be the ones dead and cursing,” Cass says laughing casually as if he hadn’t just received an ill omen and a curse,

“ It’s pretty obvious it wasn’t at full power, this thing was able to contest the goddess of creation at its peak, if it had a fraction of its power I would’ve died the second it struck me,” Cass explains, turns out he had spoken to Ren before he felt the demons energy and rushed in, we headed back and explained the situation to the others and Cass had pointed the way out, turns out there was an entry, it was just sealed due to the demon but now that its gone it had opened. Once we found the others I had the wounds I got from Agrai properly patched, though it seems the cut had already healed to a certain extent, “ You head on out, I need to check something out before I leave,” I tell Cass heading down a different corridor. Before I fought Agrai, Ren told me his people found another mural and I had planned to check it out after. The room was in similar fashion to the one I found, only this time the room was bigger and instead of parts it was one big image. This one depicted a person looming over a kingdom, the only detail to them was there large blue eyes and the silhouette of two hands holding the kingdom, most of the painting was the kingdom, and the person was drawn larger than the kingdom, as if they were about to engulf it in their shadow. I wasn’t sure how to interpret this, someone with blue eyes will try and claim the kingdom? Or destroy it perhaps, the only people I know that have blue eyes are my mom whose missing, and myself, there could be another that I don’t know of, Star is a pretty big planet with a lot of people on it after all. However this person could also be me, a warning from the past, like a prophecy. Well whatever it meant would have to wait, dealing with Onyx came first, having dealt with that I make my way to the entrance to regroup with the others. The abyssal were successfully pushed out of Blight-1 and we headed back to Star to report what had happened to Winter directly. The dungeon on Blight-1 was to be investigated fully later to make sure we didn’t miss anything since we were more focused on trying to find the way out and not get killed, after that I was dismissed and told to await further orders which usually meant nothing, or something if I was lucky. I make a quick stop at the palaces artifact hold, all the relics found within dungeons are placed here for examination in order to determine what they can do, and if there dangerous there stored deep within the castle only accessible by the queen and the royal commanders. I was told to drop off the demons broken blade as the other ones had fully shattered during the fight with Cass, I was also permitted to take one artifact thanks to my efforts in beating Agrai, I examine the items they managed to find, there were a lot from previous dungeons as well as items blessed by certain gods. I originally planned on taking nothing but one item in particular stood out, a singular gauntlet, Its description read that it was found not in a dungeon, but on one of the planets in the outer well, which refers to the planets on the outskirts of the universe, there hasn’t been any expeditions their since the time of the first rulers due to how long it takes to get their and the dangers that might lurk there, to which nobody knows. Other than where it was found not much else is known, other than that it was once owned by a man named, “ The Endless Emperor,” and that the rest of his armor is out their somewhere, I had decided to take the gauntlet, even if it was just one its better than nothing, and I make my way back to await further orders.
