Chapter 48:
Spice of life [Remake]
"So why are you keeping me encased in wax?" Wakaha snarled.
"Thought you were supposed to be a statue," Waki chuckled as she entered holding a serving tray.
"Waki!"
"So, I could spend some time with you. You haven't been home ever since you were recruited by the government."
"More like forced to slave away for them. Even though I get a salary, I feel more like I'm on parole."
"What do you mean?"
"This may officially be my job, but I wasn't just absolved of all the killing I did, rather I'm serving as their bitch instead of serving a prison sentence. Though like a prison sentence, there is a time frame. I've only got a few months left then I'm free. Though not sure what I'd do. I might end up sticking around in the government, though I hate how strict it is there."
"You used to have so much fun when you were a hitwoman."
"Sadly, I'm never gonna be as carefree and happy. Maybe I'll become a shooting instructor or something, then at least my skills won't dull," Wakaha sighed.
"Would you get a mohawk?"
"HELL NO! I may have only been in high school for a short time before I was recruited, but in the time I was there, I was a prefect. I also hate punk music."
"But we could match."
"I'd rather shave my head bald... Actually, no I don't want to go bald. A mohawk would be better than that. Doesn't mean I'll get one, though."
"Well, it was nice catching up with you, though before I thaw- er, melt you out, I want you to try my cooking."
"Is it poisoned?"
"Nah. Though it is extra spicy," Waki smiled as she unveiled her dish.
"That's the spicy and sour katsudon I taught you to make."
"Yeah, now eat up."
Wakaha grimaced as she ate the food Waki fed her. "Still just as spicy. Though, you made it better than me at least," Wakaha sighed.
"Thanks. Now let me free you so you can eat the rest properly," Waki smiled as she whipped out a blow torch.
...
Wakaha groaned as she ran her now freed hand through her goopy hair. "Ugh, my clothes and hair feel awful. I'm gonna have to shower back at the dorms," she grumbled as she headed out.
"Come back anytime!" Rika and Waki waved.
"I'll at least put in good word about you, Korosekai. As for you Waki, I'm glad you're doing well," Wakaha smiled.
A few minutes later, Matcha arrived. She had changed clothes though her hair was encased in a shower cap.
"So is your hair OK?" Rika asked.
"It's fine, but I have to keep it like this for a day. Ugh," Matcha groaned as her face went red with embarrassment.
"No worries, you can have the day off. Oh, and I heard Hasue and Muku got arrested for what they did to you and Wakaha."
"Well, they better have! Ugh, I'm gonna go home and soak in a bath."
...
At the prison, Hasue glared as she and Muku were garbed in strait jackets and marched to their cell. “Well thanks a lot Rika-nee-nee. Now we're gonna be stuck in this max security prison for years. Guess we'll make the most of it," Hasue thought.
