Chapter 20 ' The Infiknight Academy '

Zeres : this is the story of my previous world I do not possess any memories of my past prior to the age of 8 that was when my elder sister or friend whatever you want to call her adopted me from an orphanage meant for unusual children , not even the specialists there could tell what was wrong with me I excelled at everything yet I never showed any emotion or reaction in fact the researchers that had come from across the world to investigate my condition there had started to call me the ' living dead child ' two days after I heard some researchers referring to me as the 'living dead child' , that was when a girl came to the orphanage in a silver blazer and said to me

Unknown girl : pleasure to meet you I am Chromia chronofix what is your name?

Child Zeres : if I recall correctly my name is Zeres

I was surprised my emotionless disposition didn't seem to bother that girl

Chromia chronofix : would you like to come with me Zeres I am all alone too so I would appreciate the company

Child Zeres : I would if I could but the researchers here said I cannot go outside or be adopted so I probably won't be able to go with you but thank you very much for asking

Chromia suddenly looked at the researchers and her smile disappeared this time she spoke in a cold tone

Chromia chronofix : so can I not take Zeres with me?

Head research : o-off c-course not ma'am he is all yours

Chromia then once again turned to me with a smile and said

Chromia chronofix : see no one is stopping you now so please come with me Zeres

Chromia extended her hand to me

Child Zeres : okay I will come with you

I take her hand and together we walk out of the facility there are dozens of cars waiting outside all of them identical Chromia and I enter one that is in the back and to my surprise when our car moves all the other cars also move Chromia chuckles softly at my surprise

Chromia chronofix : they are part of my security detail Zeres that is why they look the same as our car and moved at the same time as us

Child Zeres : why do you need security are you in danger?

Chromia chronofix : not really but I would rather be careful now that I have such a cute little brother

Child Zeres : little brother?

Chromia chonofix : I mean you silly in public we will be known as brother and sister but when we're alone we can be each others friends I don't have any friends so I would really appreciate it Zeres please

Child Zeres : but why me? why would you want me to be your friend?

Chromia chronofix : I want only you to be my friend because you are the same as me I don't know how to express emotions either so I just fake all emotions that is why when I heard about you who also cannot express emotions I felt like I found someone I can connect with so please Zeres be my friend

Child Zeres : okay then Ms. Chromia I will be your friend

Chromia chronofix : don't call me Ms.Chromia call me just Chromia I am just 2 years older since I am only 10 years old so don't be so formal Zeres

Child Zeres : then how did you adopt me if you are so young?

Chromia chronofix : the power of money Zeres they were too afraid to stop me but you don't have to worry you are my friend I would never try to do any harm to you ever and technically since you are my little brother in public so my money is your money

Child Zeres : okay understood Chromia

Chromia chronofix : tell me Zeres since you are new to the outside world is there anything you want to see or learn or get just say it and I will have it brought for you

Child Zeres : then do you mind teaching me how to fake emotions like you do Chromia please?

Chromia chronofix : off course Zeres

After that I learned from Chromia how to fake a smile or a smirk or looking sad basically every expression and in Chromia's words I should always put on a confident aura and simply assert dominance after learning more about the outside world I found out that the Chrono corporation was the wealthiest company in the entire world with its current head having a net worth of 8 trillion euros and that person was none other than my friend Chromia chronofix so no wonder the researchers couldn't stop her from taking me , soon after I enrolled in middle school at the age of 13 and I wasn't aware at that point this is when my life would take a turn because all my classmates started to talk about me at first it was praise's like ' amazing Zeres got top scores in both the academics and athletics' but after I kept on getting top scores two of the boys in my class Zack and James started to say stuff like ' there must be something wrong with Zeres no one can get a perfect score so many times in a row he must be cheating or he might be some sort of monster ' since I was in the orphanage the word monster hurt me the most since both the researchers and the other orphans used to look at me like I was a monster after hearing that word in the school I felt very hurt and I was too afraid to go to the school and Chromia was gone on a business trip , so all alone my fear began to grow into despair and seeing as Chromia was not around at the moment I tried take my own life knowing full well it was wrong I tried my best to stab myself but the blades I used broke then when I tried to crush my head with a hammer I crushed the hammers instead and when I tried to strangle myself with my own hands I still did not feel anything but this one seemed the most effective since using my own hands means they won't break , on the third day Chromia arrived and when she came to my room and looked at my condition she rushed to my side and hugged me tightly by that time I was too Lost in the abyss of my own power to stop strangling myself Chromia tried to separate my hand from my neck sensing her touch I instantly stopped using my powers but it was too late one of Chromia's arms that she was using to separate my hand from my neck had completely disappeared I looked at Chromia trembling

13 year old Zeres : I-I a-am s-sorry Chromia

Chromia looked at me and instead of looking angry for the first time ever I saw her cry she quickly enveloped me in a warm embrace wrapping her remaining arm around me

13 year old Zeres : I know what I have done to you is unforgivable Chromia thank you for being so kind but I think it's time I go I have become too dangerous

Chromia : Zeres you foolish idiot you think I care about my arm then forget it it's irrelevant I can always get a mechanical prosthetic but you what were you thinking trying to hurt yourself like that you are my only friend the only person I care about in the entire world how could you be so cruel to me and now you are saying you should go just because you consider yourself dangerous then finish me off before you leave because thanks to you my colorless life got colors so I am not going back to living my old colorless life

13 year old Zeres : but you got hurt because of me

Chromia : I did not get hurt because of you I know how powerful you are and yet I grabbed your arm I was fully willing to lose my life but I am not willing to lose you Zeres so don't go please I beg you please don't leave me alone

This was the first time in my life I had felt someone care about me so much and I smiled hearing her words not a fake smile but a real smile then I leaned forward and embraced Chromia gently and carefully I must say I did expect Chromia to go completely red in the face even her ears were a shade of red I stayed there embracing her for about 15 minutes then I pulled away and that was when my signature smirk appeared for the first time and I looked Chromia straight in the eyes and said

13 year old Zeres : don't worry now Chromia you'll never lose me but I will correct my own mistakes

Chromia : what do you mean Zeres?

I grabbed Chromia's left shoulder the one with the disappeared arm and this time tried to concentrate on healing , reversal , recreation and overall completely restoring her , I used my biological skill creator to create the skill ' IMMORTALIS ' this skill could grant anyone immortality as well as heal all their previous wounds and ailments once I used this skill a blue light engulfed the entire room and when the light faded not only was Chromia's arm back but she had also become immortal and gained the ability to see all energy particles after gaining this ability Chromia managed to prove the existence of Dark matter as well as Dark energy and even found ways to incorporate them as a energy source for all sorts of industrial processes after all this success her net worth of 8 trillion euros had become 80 trillion euros not even the richest country in the world was anywhere near her in the wealth department but as people say the coin always has two sides while looking for the origins of Dark matter and Dark energy my friend Chromia seemed to have uncovered the existence of creatures such as Yokai,Gods and all sorts of other supernatural entities these entities were enraged at being revealed to the world and they declared war on humanity this war would be known as the great Chaos war in the future all humans 18 and above got drafted at first but after a tremendous increase in casualties they dropped the age bar to 14 and unfortunately I was 14 years old at the time so I fought in the war and gained the alias 'The Visage' after the war ended all my squad members decided to join The military HQ and Omega even became a high ranking executive of the military everything seemed to be going well but people had a deep grudge against 'The Visage' because according to them no one should be allowed to get away with killing so many people even if it is for military purposes the military disagreed with them and even said in the official statement that all 'The Visage' did was a great job this enraged the already furious public and they began rioting so I approached the Chief General of the military and told her to fake my death to stop the riots and not tell anyone that I am alive so that the information is not leaked normally the military Official's won't agree with my outrageous plan so easily but the current chief general used to be a fellow special general like me so she did as I asked and faked my death so there was a memorial and everything I watched the entire the thing but the one sight I was not able to get out my head was my former squads vice commander Omega silently crying all alone in a corner I wanted to tell her that I was alive but it would go against my own plan so I refrained from telling her that I am alive , Chromia already knew I was fine and we both celebrated the end of the war while playing her companies new VR game fast forward 8 months and a mysterious voice warped me to this world

Everyone seemed overwhelmed by what I had just told them the first to speak this time unexpectedly was Melzequin

Melzequin : must have been hard fighting a war for those people only for them to antagonize you and want you dead but don't worry Zeres chronofix I won't antagonize you but I do hope I can get a rematch with you someday if you don't mind

Zeres : sure Melzequin

Revenine : master Zeres I promise I will follow you no matter what path you choose just please let me stay by your side

Zeres : certainly Revenine

Ephilis : it appears that you do not walk the straight and hollow path of justice and righteousness but you like to pave your own path Zeres I believe that is your greatest strength so I shall also accompany you on this path you have paved for yourself

Zeres : sure if you can handle it Ephilis

Chronolia : Sir Zeres you silently suffered all alone to protect that ungrateful world I could not imagine an act more honorable than that after witnessing your actions I have decided that as a Devil I Chronolia hellraven swear my eternal fealty to you and you alone

A pentagram circle appeared on Chronolia's right hand with my name engraved upon it

Zeres : well if that is what you want Chronolia then sure I gladly accept your eternal fealty to me serve me well hehe

Chronolia : off course Sir Zeres

Zeres : great

Polaristh has a sad look on her face then she speaks

Polaristh : those people were cruel they treated you so badly despite all you did for them it's unforgivable you deserved better than that and after you came to this world I attacked you as well you did not deserve any of it I am a monster Zeres

Polaristh looks like she's about to cry but I start gently stroking her hair and say

Zeres : it's okay Polaristh I am fine { inner monologue Zeres : I mean literally during our entire battle you couldn't even scratch me so no need to apologize so profusely } and you are certainly not a monster you are just a extremely kind girl

Polaristh looked at me with love struck eyes and is about to say something when the ship comes to a abrupt stop

Zeres : were you saying something Polaristh?

Polaristh ( flustered ) : n-no n-not at all I just wanted to tell you that we have arrived at Infiroux

Zeres : oh we have

I turn to see the most advanced city I have ever seen

Polaristh : this is the capital city of Infiroux known as Alphmega

Zeres : splendid so now that we have arrived let's go to the multi dimensional plains immediately

Polaristh : unfortunately we cannot

Zeres : why?

Polaristh : it is currently located in a restricted area in the Nation of Infiroux which can only be accessed by Infiknight's

Zeres : so you mean we came all this way for nothing?

Polaristh : not at all I have already registered us for the entrance exam to enroll in the Infiknight academy

Zeres : Infiknight academy by the sounds of it is probably a school to train Infiknight's am I right?

Polaristh : yes you are correct Zeres and exceptional Infiknight students get their official Infiknight licenses as soon as a month after enrolling so it should be no problem for us to get our licenses to gain authorization to enter the restricted area where the multi dimensional plains are located

Zeres : excellent plan Polaristh so where is this Infiknight academy?

Polaristh : it should be there if my information is correct

Polaristh points at the tallest skyscraper in this city where every building looks like a skyscraper and I think to myself that looks like a high tech multi national companies main building not like a school at all

Polaristh : tomorrow we have our entrance exams so let's go to my vacation home that I had built here last time I visited and turn in for the night

After we arrive at Polaristh's vacation home which is basically a district sized manor everyone is tired and turn in for the night while I stay up and look out my balcony at the tall Infiknight Academy building and say to myself

Zeres : this sure is getting interesting I guess tomorrow I will have to enroll at
