Kaoru's boyfriend 2

It was a combined class today as class B's teacher was absent so that meant that of course Ran would be here as well. But today, she didn't throw any tantrums and was sitting with Aoi while me and Kaoru sat behind them. I knew I had to ask Kaoru about the thing that Katayama-san had told me about. 

"Kaoru, Katayama-san told me that you had a boyfriend," I said. 

"And you believed it?," she asked. 

Of course, Ran and Aoi were included in the conversation too. 

"Yeah, did you believe it, Tamako?," Ran asked. 

I am quite trusting and I might have believed it then, but now I had to deny it. 

"Of course not. Why would I have believed it?," I said.

"What did she tell you about Kaoru?," Aoi asked. 

"She told me her mother saw you receiving flowers from a guy who came on a bike," I said. 

"Oh, that?! Those flowers were actually for my sister. That was my sister's boyfriend. Actually, my sister and him got into an argument and he gave those flowers to me so that I could give them to her," she said. 

"Oh. See? She might have misunderstood things," I said. 

"Well, I hate her now," Kaoru said. "How dare she spread false information about me?." 

I didn't say anything as I knew that whatever I was going to say would be useless. 

But I'm glad she didn't have a boyfriend. Even if she would've had one, I wouldn't have had any problems. My only desire would be that she tells me if she finds a boyfriend. I would be very happy.
