Vanish ~Demon Hunters~

Narrator: "This world is surrounded by crime, greed, and many other sins. When people gave up hope for peace there are a group of assassins that would cleanse the world. If you're truly tormented by anyone and want vengeance, then you must call upon The Sweepers and they will take vengeance for you."

During a late Friday night, a depressed young man was heading home when he heard a strange sound.

Young Man: "Huh..."

He followed the sound and suddenly vanished into thin air. The next day Seven is out in the city with his best friend wondering what to do for the weekend.

Seven: "God I'm bored!"

Matt: "Well I suggested that we could go flirt with girls."

Seven: "Matt you always want to go meet girls I like to actually do something fun for a change."

Matt: "Oh you're only bored because you don't have a hunting job."

Seven: "We could go swimming, but it's crowded at the beach."

Matt: "We can go later."

Seven: "Yeah maybe huh?"

He sees a familiar face in the crowd.

Matt: "What's up?"

Seven: "Meadow?"

He walks up to Meadow.

Meadow: "Here's the place."

Seven: "Hey Meadow!"

Meadow: "Huh? Oh, it's only you."

Seven: "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be home?"

Meadow: "Yeah but Christiana wanted a certain desert this store here is the only store that sells it. I really didn't want to but.."

Seven: "She seduced you, didn't she?"

Meadow: "She said I'll get a sweet treat for doing this."

Seven: "I take that as a yes."

Matt: "There you are why did you run off like that?"

Seven: "Oh Matt this is Meadow he's an old friend from Rhinestone City."

Meadow: "I wouldn't say that we're friends more like acquaintances."

Seven: "Liar!"

Matt: "Nice to meet you hey Seven there are some cuties over there let's ask them out."

Seven: "God... Are girls the only thing on your mind?"

Matt: "Hey we're only young once! We need to enjoy our high school lives while we still can!"

Seven: "So? That doesn't mean I want to ask out girls like that."

Matt: "Oh you just want to go out with university girls."

Seven: "God you can be so annoying."

Meadow noticed how the two reminded him of himself and Dean.

Meadow: "You two are like brothers."

Seven: "Well he's more of an annoying brother."

Matt: "What? Take that back."

Seven: "No way why should I take something back that's true you are annoying."

The three noticed a young man shouting at a police officer.

Grayson: "What do you mean you're calling off the search?! My brother is missing, and you want to stop searching for him?!"

Police Officer: "I'm sorry sir but we've been searching for two weeks there is just no trace of him I'm sorry. Most likely your brother ran away from home."

Grayson: "That's not true! My big brother wouldn't have run away!"

Seeing the situation remained Meadow of what happened in his village years ago. A flashback to the late 1280s seventeen-year-old Meadow and eighteen-year-old Dean were heading home when they noticed a girl looking for her mom.

Mina: "Please village leader help me find my mother!"

Village Leader: "I'm sorry Mina I think she just ran away."

Mina: "She couldn't have! She wouldn't leave me and my dad!"

Dean: "Hey Mina."

Mina: "Oh um hi Dean..."

She notices Meadow and yelps a little.

Meadow: "What's with that reaction?"

Dean: "With your face reaction it'll scare any girl."

Mina: "Sorry... You just have a scary face, Meadow."

Meadow: "What's wrong with my face?"

Dean: "Ignore his sarcastic comment what's wrong Mina?"

Mina: "My mother... She vanished something wasn't right when she disappeared like that, but the village leader thinks she ran away. I know my mother she would have never run away!"

Meadow: "That does sound strange."

Meadow left to go find his advisor.

Mina: "Huh? Why did he leave?"

Dean: "It's just Meadow being Meadow."

It is back in the present the young man is still arguing with the officer.

Police Officer: "Sir there's just nothing more we can do."

The police officer leaves and the man is frustrated about the situation.

Matt: "Huh? Walkerson?"

Grayson: "Mhm? Louis?" They went to a cafe to talk. "Wow, it's been a while since I've seen you."

Matt: "Yeah it has."

Seven: "Oh I forgot you were a grade ahead of us before you left to attend boarding school. I heard you got in some trouble and that's why you left."

Grayson: "Not exactly I didn't want anyone to know I went to a gifted boarding school you know an academic school. I was too embarrassed for anyone to know so I made up a rumor that I got into trouble and had to move."

Matt: "That isn't something to be embarrassed about."

Grayson: "I know my big brother even said that."

Seven: "You said that your brother is missing."

Grayson: "Yeah... He's doing so well that he is actually finishing up his second year of university. He's even got a new girlfriend. He's doing really well so I just want to know what happened to him. Why did he suddenly up and vanish like that?"

Matt: "So what made the police think he ran away?"

Grayson: "Well they believe that maybe he had too much on his plate. Well, they think the stress of everything made him decide to run away. It's not like him to do something like that."

Seven: "Sorry to her about that."

Matt: "Hey we can help you find him."

Seven: "Yeah we don't mind at all."

Grayson: "Thanks I appreciate it."

The two left the cafe and wondered why Grayson's brother vanished and where he would be.

Matt: "Man I wouldn't know where to start."

Seven: "He suddenly vanished? Sounds to me like a demon got to him."

Matt: "Is that it?"

Seven: "Yeah either that or he was turned into a vampire."

Matt: "Those two options make sense but what demon would just take someone like that?"

Seven: "I don't know."

Meadow: "It's not demon nor vampire."

Matt: "Whoa!"

Seven: "What the hell?!"

Meadow: "It was a witch no doubt about it."

Matt: "Wait?! Are you sure about that?"

Meadow: "You can say I dealt with a situation like that before."

In a flashback to the 1280s Meadow went to his advisor's house to find out what took Mina's mother.

Alaster: "She just disappeared?"

Meadow: "Yeah you know Mina's mother wasn't the first one to disappear. That widow that lives next door to me hasn't been home in weeks. To be honest I thought that he moved away."

Alaster: "Now that you mention it a good friend of mine said that his eldest daughter and his only son disappeared. His daughter is nineteen and his son is about your age. His son disappeared first and when his elder daughter went looking for him, she disappeared too. He thought they maybe already dead believing that a demon killed them."

Meadow: "What do you think?"

Alaster: "With many people vanishing I believe a necromancer is involved."

Dean went to Alaster's house.

Dean: "I figured you'd be here."

Alaster: "Well Dean how are you? Last time I saw you were on death's bed."

Dean: "I know the doctor couldn't believe that I made a miraculous recovery."

Meadow: "Why are you here?"

Dean: "To find you had to have come idea about Mina's mother. You must think that a demon got to her."

Alaster: "Not a demon but a necromancer."

Dean: "Necromancer? What's a necromancer?"

Alaster: "Necromancers are magic users that use black magic mainly using their power to bring the dead back to life. They can even use their magic to be immortal but the only way to kill them is a bullet in the head or decapitate their head off."

Meadow: "Then we just have to find the necromancer."

Just as they were about to head off Alaster wanted to talk to Meadow.

Alaster: "Don't worry I'll make sure no hunter comes after Dean."

Meadow: "What do you mean?"

Alaster: "I know he's a vampire I get it he's family to you."

Meadow: "I didn't get a vampire to turn him I already accepting his fate. It was his brother who turned him he didn't want to lose him."

It is back to the present Meadow explains to the boys what is going on.

Seven: "Necromancer? Like a magic user?"

Meadow: "Yeah but they mainly use black magic using their power to bring the dead back to life even able to cheat death."

Matt: "What?! Their immortal?!"

Meadow: "Practically but really the only way to kill them is either a bullet in the head or chop their head off."

Seven: "How do we find the necromancer?"

Meadow: "Magic users can track necromancer's magic trail."

Matt: "How about I track the necromancer down?"

Meadow: "You're still a novice we need a skilled magic user."

Seven: "I may know someone, my advisor."

They went to Seven's advisor who turns out to be someone Meadow already knows.

Piper: "Sorry Seven I've told you already that there are no hunting jobs. Meadow?!"

Meadow: "It's been a while."

Seven: "Huh? Aren't you two acquaintances or something?"

Piper: "Oh I must not have mentioned this to you Seven, but we weren't just acquaintances. I knew Meadow by his wife I was Christiana's advisor."

Seven: "What?!"

Matt: "No way!"

Seven and Matt were in shock about his advisor being Christiana's advisor.

Seven: "I can't believe that my advisor was Christiana's advisor!"

Matt: "Hey I think she must've known you know Christiana that's why Piper is your advisor."

Seven: "Well I did travel back in time but... Maybe she assumed we crossed paths only once or something like that."

Matt: "You did say she was around during the witch trials, right? Maybe since she lived that long she might've been your dad's advisor?"

Meanwhile, Meadow and Piper catch up after not seeing each other for a long time.

Piper: "I'm glad you were able to find her."

Meadow: "Yeah..."

Piper: "I've heard that you're a dad now."

Meadow: "Y-Yeah... A beautiful daughter."

Piper: "Well here's some advice buckle when she's a teenager she'll want to be more independent, and she'll have boys in her mind."

Meadow: (Mutters to himself) "Kill... Kill... Kill... Kill..."

Piper: "Oh wow already a protective dad and she's just baby. I guess the thought of having a daughter already wants you to kill any boy that goes near her."

Meadow: "She's already beautiful and adorable. When she gets older, she'll be like her mother."

He imagines what Abigail would like when she's grown up.

Adult Abigail: "Daddy."

Meadow: "Oh God! I won't let that happen! I don't want her to grow up!"

Piper: "Meadow calm down most girls don't even take their mom's features and looks. They really look more like their dad than their mom."

Meadow still feels uneasy about his daughter growing up one day.

Meadow: "Can you track the necromancer?"

Piper: "Of course I can. I can't believe anyone would still use that kind of sorcery. That kind of magic is black magic."

Meadow: "I believe this necromancer could be using a curse spell."

Piper: "You know most curse spells can be broken but there's only a few that can't be broken even with someone who is a master magic user."

Meadow: "I'm already aware of that."

Piper: "Mystical Tracker!"

Piper uses her power to make a magic trail to find the necromancer.

Meadow: "Hey you two let's go."

The three of them follow the magic trail to find the necromancer. In a flashback to the 1280s Meadow, Dean, and Alaster went to track the necromancer.

Alaster: "Now magic board track down the magic source!"

Dean: "Whoa what was that?!"

Meadow: "The power of a sorcerer."

Dean: "Sorcerer?"

The magic board leads a trail to the location of the necromancer.

Alaster: "That direction there is where we need to go. You got your weapon?"

Meadow: "I never leave home without it."

They follow the trail which leads them to a cave where they discover the missing people.

Dean: "Oh my God! What's wrong with these people?!"

Alaster: "They are alive, but they are in a comatose-like trance."

Meadow: "What do you mean?"

Alaster: "Check their pulse."

Meadow and Dean went to check on some of the people's pulse.

Meadow: "This man has a pulse."

Dean: "So does this man here."

Meadow: "Even this woman."

The woman is laughing but Meadow can tell that she is sad.

Woman: "Please... Help me... Haha... I can't wake up... Help..."

Meadow: "What the hell?"

Alaster: "This woman must have realized that she can't escape."

Man: "Someone... Help... I can't wake up..."

Dean: "Is there a way to free them?!"

Alaster: "No there isn't... This is curse magic but it's nothing like I've seen before. I've heard about it though I've been told that there is no way to break it. Not even a skilled magic user can break it."

Necromancer Sister: "I see you found me typical of hunters."

Meadow: "So you're responsible!"

Necromancer Sister: "Of course, I want to be young and beautiful forever. The only way for me to do that is to steal life force from humans, it wasn't that hard. These people here were so miserable about their lives wondering what would have happened if they made better choices with their lives."

Dean: "What did you do to these people?!"

Necromancer Sister: "Simple I just let these people see what their lives would've been like if they did something different with their choices. As you can see, they prefer what they desire the most."

Meadow: "Not all of them they want to get out of it!"

Necromancer Sister: "Oh well it's their own fault for wanting desire. Desiring a better life than what they have now. Admit I bet there somethings you three desire something in your life you wished happened, but it never did."

Dean: "Like hell we do!"

She uses her curse magic on them, but Alaster manages to dodge the blast just in time. Unfortunately, Meadow and Dean couldn't dodge her spell in time the two were hit by her spell, but luckily for them, nothing happened to them.

Necromancer Sister: "What the hell?! Why aren't you two in a trance?!"

Alaster: "Ha! Of course, you should've known those two are kids they have no desires nor regrets yet."

Necromancer Sister: "No! It should have worked regardless of age! Oh well, I have many other curse spells I can use on these two!"

While she was talking Meadow slashed her neck and completely cut her head off.

Dean: "Damn! You really cut her head off!"

Meadow: "It was the only way to get her to stop talking. God, she was annoying."

Dean: "Hey why are they still comatose? Shouldn't these people be waking up?! The necromancer is dead!"

Alaster: "It's true that she's dead but like I said earlier the spell she cast is a curse. There's no possible way to break even with the necromancer dead."

Meadow: "It is what it is hunters can't always save everyone. There are sometimes cases like these where you can't save people in time."

Dean sees what Meadow always goes through as a hunter. Seeing the people forever trapped in comatose states.

Dean: "Hey it's Mina's mother."

Mina's Mother: "I'm a doctor just like I always wanted I never met that useless husband of mine and never had my sorry of an excuse of a daughter."

Meadow: "What kind of mother would say that?"

Alaster: "The kind who isn't fit to be a mother. It's all the same in a way those who shouldn't be parents be parents. Then there are those who should be parents never be parents."

Meadow: "What do you mean Alaster?"

Alaster: "Ah it's nothing important. In a way, I got two knuckleheads that I consider my sons."

Dean: "Maybe we don't tell Mina about her mother. She's better off not knowing what her mother really thinks of her."

Meadow: "It's not like she'll believe you anyways dumbass."

Dean: "Jackass."

Meadow: "Idiot."

Dean: "Jerk."

Meadow: "Whining bitch."

Dean: "Bastard."

Meadow: "F**kface."

Dean: "Dick."

It is back to the present Meadow, Seven, and Matt follow the trail to find the necromancer. The trail ends at an abandoned building. The three of them see the people in a comatose-like trance.

Matt: "Are they dead?"

Meadow: "No."

Seven went to check a woman's pulse.

Seven: "Hey this woman is still alive!"

Necromancer Brother: "Well. Well. I see some hunters found me."

Matt: "What the hell?!"

They turned around and noticed the necromancer behind them.

Necromancer Brother: "Honestly do you hunters ever do something besides tracking me? You three weren't the first ones I managed to trap other hunters and huntress' in what makes them truly happy."

Seven: "What?!"

Necromancer Brother: "I trap people in their most pleasant memories, what they truly treasure the most. My late older sister on the other hand traps people in what they truly desire the most you know something you wanted to do in life that you never got the chance to."

Meadow: (Thinking) "He's the other necromancer from my time."

Matt: "What makes you think that's what people want?! To live their glory years?! If you just live in the past, you can never move forward in the future!"

Necromancer Brother: "Navie kid look at these people. They don't want to move on with their lives they just want to live a life in which they are at their most happiness. I know even you must have a precious memory you want to relive."

Meadow: "Just as I thought the other necromancer sibling, I assumed you must've been killed by a different hunter, but I was wrong. I killed you sister now I have to kill you."

Necromancer Brother: "You?! How is that possible that you're living in this era?! What did you make a pact with a demon to be immortal? Wait that wouldn't work no hunter would ever make a pact. You must not be human anymore, that makes sense."

The necromancer uses his curse spell on Seven and Matt, but the spell had no effect on them

Meadow takes his sword out preparing to attack.

Necromancer Brother: "What the hell?! Why aren't you two in a trance?!"

Meadow: "Dumbass their only kids they don't have any precious memories yet."

Necromancer Brother: "My spell should've worked regardless of age everyone has a precious memory it doesn't matter how old you are." He realizes that he could trap Meadow. "You on the other hand must have a memory you want to relive." He prepares the spell. "Any last words before I trap you in your memory."

Meadow: "Just one. Now!"

Seven uses his bow and arrow aiming at the necromancer's heart. He laughs at Seven's marksmanship.

Necromancer Brother: "I can't believe you miss you should've known that an arrow to the heart won't kill me."

He pulls the arrow out of his heart.

Seven: "Actually my marksmanship is perfect I was aiming at the right spot that was just a distraction."

Necromancer Brother: "Distraction? Distraction from what?

Meadow: "From me, you bastard now go join your sister in hell."

He realized too late when Meadow slashed his neck and completely cut his head off.

Matt: "Dammann!"

Seven: "Holy shit!"

Meadow: "No one will fall victim to this ever again."

Seven: "Hey did something like this happen before? It's just that you knew what had happened to Grayson's brother."

Meadow: "I did but not in this country it was before this country was founded. It happened in my home country in a village before it became a city. People vanished left and right, and most of the villagers believe that those people just moved or ran away. Dean and I had to see my advisor about it, and it turned out that it was the necromancer siblings. I killed his sister, but he was nowhere to be found we believed that he left the village after finding his sister dead."

Seven: "In a way this hit close to home for you, didn't it? Was Dean a hunter like you?"

Meadow: "No he just helps out when he can even before he was turned."

Seven: "Turned? Was it an accident?"

Meadow: "No... He had an illness and there was no cure for it. The doctor said that it was a rare illness, and that person could only live to be seventeen years old or eighteen if you're lucky and had a strong will. Just after he turned eighteen, he was in death's bed I've already accepted his fate I thought it would've been best if I wasn't in the room when he died."

Seven: "Why didn't you stay?"

Meadow: "It was his dying wish he didn't want me to see him die a pathetic death. Next thing I knew his brother went into the room and turned him into a vampire. We both wondered how his brother survived, and we had an answer."

Seven: "So his brother saved him? It was a good thing you didn't lose a friend."

Meadow: "Yeah.."

He thinks back to when he got Dean killed.

Seven: "Are you still blaming yourself for Dean's death? It wasn't your fault, I'm sure that Dean had lived a fulfilling life before he helped you. I'm sure that he doesn't blame you, and you shouldn't apologize to him I know he wouldn't want that."

Meadow: "Funny he said something similar like that."

Matt: "Hey what do we do now? How can we save them?"

Meadow: "You can't."

Seven: "What?!"

Meadow: "Even with the necromancer dead the spell these people are in is cursed. There's no method or any kind of spell that can break it. Many have tried but none succeed."

Matt noticed a young man and thought it could be Grayson's brother.

Matt: "Hey that guy I think that's Grayson's brother."

Grayson's Brother: "Hey Becky just stay the night it's pouring outside... That way you wouldn't have run off the road when you went home... We can be together living our lives together... We'll even get married just like we talked about..."

Seven: "Who's Becky?"

Matt: "I don't know whoever she is she must've been important to him."

Seven: "He's trapped like this forever..."

Matt: "How can I explain this to Grayson..."

The two noticed that Meadow had already left.

Seven: "Huh?!"

Matt: "He's gone?!"

Seven: "Figures..."

Matt: "What can we do?"

Seven: "We'll just call the police at the phone booth call it in as an anonymous tip."

The two left to go call the police elsewhere Meadow went to the desert shop to get Christiana's favorite desert.

Shopkeeper: "You're just in luck sir this is our last mega brownie surprise al la mode. That will be twenty-five currencies and thirty-two silvers."

Meadow: "Here keep the change."

Shopkeeper: "Thank you sir come again."

As Meadow is leaving the shop he thinks back on his past.

Meadow: "How come you wanted to talk?"

Alastor: "I wanted to tell you that last night's job is now the last one we do together."

Meadow: "What do you mean?"

Alastor: "The necromancer job is the last job you'll have to do with an advisor. You're officially on your own now."

Meadow: "That's good."

Alastor: "I figured you would say that so here's a piece of advice before you move on. Live your life the way you want, don't let anyone make decisions for you. If you do, you'll have to live with that choice for the rest of your life. You'll regret forever if you notice how those people in trances were that's what happens when you live in regret."

Meadow: "I see."

Alastor: "One last thing happy birthday Meadow you're officially a man."

It is back to the present Seven and Matt went to Grayson to break the news to him.

Matt: "Hey Grayson sorry man we couldn't find your brother."

Seven: "We tried everywhere in the city there was no trace of him."

Grayson: "Thanks anyway but I got a call from the police they found him."

Seven: "Really? That's good to hear."

Grayson: "Yeah but when they found him, I was told that he's in a coma, but they find it strange though."

Matt: "What do you mean?"

Grayson: "When I went to see him at the hospital, he was talking as he was smiling. The doctors find it strange that he was talking normally in a coma, you can't say anything at all. He kept talking about Becky that's all he talks about."

Seven: "Who's Becky?"

Grayson: "Becky was my brother's first love."

Matt: "What happened to her?"

Grayson: "She was hanging out with him during a rainy night. She noticed it was really late and she needed to go home. My brother tried to convince her to stay but she insisted on leaving. When she left it was raining pretty hard, she couldn't see a thing from what I was told she tried to find somewhere to park until the rain stopped. Unfortunately, she ran off the road into a cliff and died instantly in the crash my brother took it hard it took him almost two years to let go of Becky."

Matt: "Man that must've been hard seeing your brother like that."

Seven: "Yeah it must have..."

Later on, Meadow made it back home and realized that he should stop blaming himself for what happened to Dean.

Meadow: "That kid is right... I should stop blaming myself he got the chance to live a fulfilling life. Alastor, are you watching me up there? I lived my life the way I wanted to. I have a beautiful wife and we have a beautiful bundle of joy our daughter. Knowing you Alastor you'll probably poke fun at me for being sentimental."

Meadow walked upstairs and gave Harmony pie.

Harmony: "Mi?"

Meadow: "Eat the pie or I'm taking it away."

Harmony: "*growls*"

Meadow: "Alright take it you ought to be glad that I even got that pie I could've not bothered getting you pie."

Harmony: "Mi!"

He went to the bedroom and found Christiana sitting on the bed waiting for him giving him a gentle smile.

Meadow: "I'm home." He has the plate of a piece of the mega brownie surprise al la mode. He has a spoon and begins to feed her. "Here open up and say ah."

Christiana eats it and smiles Meadow takes his hand placing it on her face and gazing into her eyes smiling back at her.
