Chapter 4:
Impending Doom
Alright, this is enough.
Kanata stood up from the rock she was sitting on. She walked towards Wave, grabbed him by the shirt and headbutted him with her maximum strength towards the suface. His body pierced the Moon and shattered it into several pieces.
At least he can't return to Earth now... It really pisses me off that I can't kill him, but I guess that's enough...
She jumped towards her planet, pushing the pieces of the Moon away. After a minute, she reached the atmosphere. She decided to just land normally, since she would break even more things if she punched the ground or something. She stood up and saw the ninja girl waiting for her.
— Did you do it?
— Yes...
— And what did it cost?
Kanata looked everywhere, finally realizing the damage she caused. There was nothing but a wasteland of ashes and dust.
— Everything.
— Do you regret it?
— Not really. Only that I couldn't save my brother.
— I see. At least the main threats are gone now.
Kanata sat on the ground, looking at the grass thoughtfully. After a short pause, she looked at the sky, especially at the broken Moon.
— You don't need to lie just to make me feel better. I know I was the main threat all along.
— I didn't say that.
— But I know what you're thinking. You're scared, right? But I won't destroy anything else, I promise. At least for now.
— I have a proposal. Is there anything you would want to do now?
Kanata looked at the ninja, thinking of what she meant by that.
— Besides destroying the entire world? No, why?
— Then I can ask my master to take you back in time and redo everything.
Her eyes widened, surprised by the suggestion. A glimmer of hope returned to her eyes. She leaned slightly towards the ninja, as if she was trying to reach an angel.
— Really? You were telling the truth when you said he could travel in time multiple times?
— Yes. But there's a huge cost.
— If I can save my brother, I don't care about anything else! Please, tell me what I should do!
— Please follow me. My master can tell you the details.
They both went to the Gojirou dojo. Actually, where it was originally, because the city basically didn't exist anymore. There was a mat in perfect condition on the ground, for some reason. A man was sitting on it, apparently concentrated on something.
He had pink short hair, black ninja uniform and used a futuristic mask that covered his entire face. It simulated his eyes and mouth in a pink light.
— Master, I've brought you the hero.
— Ah, Hayate-chan? So you're here! If you brought her here, it must mean she wants to use my power, right?
Phy looked away, with a bit of regret now.
— Ah, don't worry about the formalities, Kanata-chan! My name's Gojirou Kaname, leader of the Gojirou clan.
— M-My name is Ishikawa Kanata. About your question, yes, I'm here to use your power.
— I see. But as my beautiful student said, there's a huge cost.
— W-Will you really accept my request? Am I worthy of that?
— I said you shouldn't care about formalities, pal. I am open to using my power on anyone who is compatible enough with it.
— Ah, right... Why do you say I'm compatible?
— Your power and body are probably strong enough to endure the trip between timelines.
— So I'll go to another timeline instead of going back?
— Exactly. That's why my power is dangerous. Everyone in this timeline will vanish permanently. Besides, there's a small chance that it doesn't work.
— How do you know that it can fail?
— Intuition. You may not be compatible enough, or I just get unlucky. You know, for every rule there's an exception.
— Alright, I think I get it. Just tell me what I should do.
— If you're ready, sit in front of me on this mat, please.
Kanata sat on the mat with no hesitation.
— Now, I'll explain how my power works. I can move anything everywhere, basically.
— So you'll move me to another timeline?
— Technically, yes. But I can only move things spatially. I can't interfere directly with time, so I'll have to move something here that can do that.
— What are you talking about? You'll bring a time traveller here?
— No, it's simpler than that, I think. What is the thing in the universe that distorts time the most? A hint: your brother's power.
— My brother...? How do you know his power?
— Well, I can say I have my ways. A ninja never reveals his tricks. Or a magician, I don't know.
It's something related to gravity...? It distorts time...
— A black hole?
— Bingo! You're not only the strongest, you're also smart!
— Are you really going to bring a black hole here? Wouldn't it take years for light to reach here?
— That's why I said I can move anything anywhere. There's no limitation, not even speed. So I'll just teleport it here.
— What if it kills you before it reaches the planet?
— It won't. As I said, I can use infinite speed, like in a sandbox. I'll basically use a /setblock command where you are.
Kanata tilted her head, confused.
— So you don't play that game... You should ask your brother to show it to you. It's good to calm your mind, especially the creative mode or with mods.
— I'm not good at many games. Wait, how do you know my brother plays it?
— Anyway, let's do it. Please close your eyes and concentrate the most you can.
Kanata closed her eyes slowly and carefully, afraid of what he could do in that time.
— I'll teleport a black hole exaclty where your brain is. Think about the moment you want to revisit clearly. Are you set?
— Wait, what about you...?
— Every human being on this timeline will cease to exist, as a result of the black hole consuming everything. So only you will remember everything. Please tell Hayate-chan that you came back, so I'll now that I used my power.
— Alright, I think I get it... I'm sorry it had to be this way...
— Don't be sorry, please. I only used my power like five times in my lifetime, but I can make an exception for you. If I had a brother and he was killed, I would be furious too. Besides, the world won't fix it by itself.
— Thank you, Kaname. I'm really grateful.
— Ah, don't mention it. I'm honored to be talking to the strongest hero right now. Are you set?
— Yes.
— Alright, then I'll be teleporting the black hole in 3... 2... 1...
Earth got instantly replaced and everyone died, including Kanata. Her mind, however, traveled between timelines. She could see everything in the event horizon, but she couldn't do anything, not even move. She was paralyzed by the vastness of the universe, admiring everything humanity could never see with the naked eye.
She finally arrived at the tower where the battle would begin. She was now waiting in the elevator. She chose that moment because it was really easy to memorize, since she was alone in that tiny metallic room. Also, she would have more time to send a message to the ninja girl. She took out her phone and notified her about the time travel.
