Chapter 14:

A Heartfelt Apology

When Hearts Connect

Ravish's eyes widened in surprise as he spoke to Raj on the phone. "Shruti wants to get back in the relationship," he said, his voice laced with disbelief.

Raj's words cut through the air like a knife, "Say something, Shruti." But Shruti's voice was lost in the midst of tears, her silence deafening. Ravish's eyes welled up with tears, his heart aching at the sight of Shruti's pain.

Raj continued, his tone mocking and hurtful, "I'm just testing you, Shruti. Showing my girlfriend how good you are as a boyfriend. But what about you, Shruti? You're never a good girlfriend. Relationships work when both love each other, and I love my girlfriend. She loves me too. What about you both? Ravish loves you, but you love me. You're just a toy to me, Shruti, someone I can control and manipulate at my whim."

Raj sneered, his voice dripping with malice, "Shruti is very selfish, Ravish. She is not good for anyone. She is just using you" .

Shruti's silence was piercing, her tears falling like rain. Ravish's face contorted in anger and hurt, "Enough, Raj! You have no right to judge my girlfriend. She may not love me, but she's not selfish. You're the one who's selfish, Raj, always thinking of yourself and your own desires, never caring who you hurt in the process."

The call ended, leaving Shruti and Ravish in a sea of tears and heartache.

Hours passed, and Ravish tried calling Shruti, but she didn't respond. He was worried sick, his mind racing with thoughts of what Raj had said to her, how he had hurt her. He called Akankshi, seeking comfort and advice. "Akankshi, I'm trying to call Shruti, but she's not picking up. What happened to her? Is she okay?"

Ravish tells everything to Akankshi.

Akankshi's voice was laced with concern and empathy, "Oh shit, that's hurt Shruti a lot. Raj's words were cruel and hurtful. We should try calling her again, Ravish. She needs us now more than ever."

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Shruti called back, her voice trembling and weak. Ravish put Akankshi on conference, and Shruti poured out her heart, her tears and pain evident in her voice. "Ravish, I'm so sorry. I was wrong to hurt you. Raj is right, I'm selfish. I always think of myself, never of others. But I promise to change, Ravish. I promise to make it up to you. From now on, it's only you and me. Raj is nothing, a distant memory."

Ravish's voice was gentle and soothing, "Enough, Shruti. You're not selfish. You're hurt, and you're lashing out. First, tell me you're fine. Tell me you're okay."

Shruti sniffled, her voice barely audible, "I'm fine, Ravish. I promise. I'll do anything to make it up to you. I'll be yours, only yours."

Ravish's heart swelled with love and compassion, "I promise you, Shruti, I'll always take care of you. Your past will never repeat itself. No tears will fall from your eyes from now on. I'll be your strength, your rock. I'll always be there for you."

Shruti's voice was barely audible, her words spoken with difficulty, "You've ensured me that no tears will fall, and you just did. You make me happy, Ravish. You're my strength, my everything."

Ravish whispered, his voice filled with emotion, "I love you, Shruti. I'll always love you, no matter what."

Shruti's response was soft, her voice filled with tears, "I'll say I love you too when I start loving you. Is it right, Ravish?"

Ravish's heart overflowed with emotion, "Whatever you say, my love, it's okay for me. I'll wait for you, Shruti. I'll wait for you to love me back."
