Chapter 28:
Me and Senpai
I went to a keychain shop. I had something fun in mind: I was going to buy two similar keychains and keep one and give the other one to Senpai.
I didn't know why I was going to do that. But it felt right.
I bought two star keychains. I had to buy a keychain that would look good on Senpai's bag, too. Not that I thought he would ever put it on his bag, though.
After I had bought the keychains, I waited outside the dress shop for Senpai. He exited the shop after a while with a small bag in his hand.
"Did you buy what you wanted to buy?," he asked.
"Yeah," I answered.
"If you want to leave then, let's go," he says.
"Yeah, I think we should leave. The power would be back by now, too," I said.
We took a ride home and got off on our stop. As soon as we got off the bus, I turned to make my way home but Senpai grabbed my hand. I blushed hard.
"We're at the bus stop, Senpai!," I said.
"You're leaving too fast! Come with me," he said and I followed him, my hand still in his.
I looked at his face as he took me somewhere. He was blushing but he was very confident.
He took me to a park. There were not many people there except for some couples.
We sat on a bench.
"Close your eyes," he said.
"What?," I asked, stunned.
"Do it, please," he said.
I closed my eyes.
He put a bag on my lap. I took out it's contents with my eyes closed. It felt soft, whatever it was.
"Can I open my eyes now?,' I asked.
"Yes, you can," he said.
I opened my eyes and saw a scarf in my hands.
"Oh my God! This is so beautiful! Thank you so much!," I said, my eyes lighting up.
I was blushing. He blushed as he laughed.
"Happy belated birthday, Taki!," he said.
I smiled.
It was such a beautiful black scarf. I quickly put it on my neck.
"I have something for you, too, though you might think that it's a small gift," I said.
"Just give it to me. I know I'll like it," he said, laughing.
"Here you go," I said, giving him the bag in which I had the keychain.
He took it, smiling. He opened the bag and took out one of the star keychains.
"Oh, it's so cool! I love it!," he said.
"Actually, I bought one for myself too. I thought you and me could have the same keychains," I said, blushing.
He smiled.
"Oh, that heart keychain that we got at the cafe, I wanna give one half of it to you," he said, as he took the keychain out of his pocket.
I gulped as he took my hand and put one half of the keychain on my palm.
I didn't know how to not blush because this was so romantic!
"Thank you," I said, shy.
"Think of it as my heart," he said, blushing.
How could he say stuff like that when he was blushing, too?
"So you're giving me half of your heart?," I said, laughing.
"I could've given the entire keychain to you but I need to keep the other half so that I can remember that I gave half of it to you," he said.
My heart was about to explode now.
"I think I should leave now," I said.
"Should I walk you home?," he asked.
"No, I'll go by myself," I said.
I got up.
"Thank you for everything. I really had a lot of fun today," I said.
"No, I should be thanking you for making everything fun. I love to be around you, Taki," he said.
I smiled and turned around to leave.
