Chapter 1:

Loyalty Mission

The Sorrowful Jedi

“You wanted to see me counselor Jenfris?” I liked counselor Jenfris. She was always less strict the counselor Tala.

“You are aware I assume. That your master, Mr. Tonnis, and his apprentice Melra left last night?” She asked me sternly, but not unkindly.

“Yes.” I say. Because there’s no point denying it, she would know if I lied to her face so blatantly.

“You did not go with them?” She asks.

“Yes. I did not want too.” I tell her, because there’s enough truth that what I’m saying covers up my uncertainty. She hums in thought. I think back to Melra. My best friend. My sister. Leaving me behind. Dressed in black, only made darker by the rain. I had, had a vision of this as I slept. That’s what woke me. Sent me chasing after them. But when she offered me her hand. I didn’t take it. The force wilder finally speaks again. “You know them better than most here. You must be the one to go after them.” This decision surprises me. “You will know if the dark side has truly corrupted them, or not. If they can be saved, brought back to the light bring them here.”

“If they can’t?” She gives me a kind look. The first time her face has softened since I entered.

“Power corrupts Zylla. You have seen this in the destruction of the Jedi Temple. Our place here in hiding, and are low numbers are the only reasons we’ve survived this long. And our ways have not changed. We do not tolerate deserters. They can leave us if they wish, but the dark side…” She shivers, and I push away a violent vision. I know my duty. My mission. I nod to the light force user before leaving. I just wish I knew where my loyalties lied.
