Chapter 7:
Modern Enchanted Fairy Tale
In the kingdom, Adoria. The old witch and Mistress Lila are watching to the crystal ball shows Elara and Mia are now a couple.
"Look at the princess, she has found a new book." Mistress Lila said with a sneer, her eyes gleaming with malice as she watched Elara and Mia through the crystal ball.
"Yeah, I heard about some five artifacts. They are placed in the planets." The old witch said, stroking her chin thoughtfully. "But, only a true heir can touch and activate it."
Then Mistress Lila saw to the crystal ball, it shows Elara and Mia are kissing each other with their lips, they now a couple. "It seems the princess was kissing that peasant girl. How...disappointing." She said with anger and jealousy in her eyes.
"Yeah, I saw that!" The old witch's voice held a hint of amusement. "But don't let your emotions cloud your judgment, Lila."
Mistress Lila was stressed out in her rage and yelled. "Mother, I hate fucking lesbian couple, it always ruins everything!"
The old witch named Morgana waved a hand, dismissing Mistress Lila's outburst. "Your feelings are irrelevant. What matters is that the princess is still in the mortal world and unaware of the true extent of her power."
Mistress Lila's eyes narrowed as she observed the scene in the crystal ball. It shows Elara and Mia are going for a camping trip with some campers in the modern world. "Mother, what do we do now?"
Morgana's expression grew contemplative. "Patience, my dear. We must wait for the right moment to strike. The artifacts will bring us the power we need to conquer Adoria. But for now, let the princess enjoy her... vacation."
Mistress Lila had her idea to put an end for her legacy. "That's a brillant plan! I'll make a brand new creature as a minion, I will thwart that lesbian couple!"
"Lila, you good!" Morgana's smile grew as she watched her daughter's excitement. "But remember, we need a creature that is both formidable and discreet. We don't want to alert the council of our actions."
Soon, they making a creature, it's a snake with a human body, with sharp teeth and has a water powers. They named it "Hydrosis" as it can manipulate water. "Finally, it's done!" Mistress Lila exclaimed, admiring her creation. "Now, let's send it to the mortal world and ruin their little romantic trip!"
In the modern world, Elara and Mia are riding in the bus, along with the campers. They feel the excitement of their first camping trip together, holding hands, smiling at each other, and occasionally like a couples. Then, the bus arrived on the camp site. They stepped out into the fresh mountain air, the scent of pine trees and earthy soil filling their nostrils. Elara and Mia are looked the sign was 'Bora-Tale, where fairy tale have good or grimm'.
Elara looked around, her eyes widened with amazement. "Wow, it's like stepping into a whole new world!" She whispered to Mia, who nodded in agreement, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
The camp site of Bora-Tale shows are full of cabins and a camp fire, then a tall man said. "Hello, campers! I am Rick Daves, I am your camp leader for this weekend!" His voice boomed across the area.
Elara and Mia exchanged glances, amused by the enthusiastic welcome. They had no idea what to expect from this modern world camping experience, but they were ready for the adventure. They followed the group to their cabin, which was surprisingly cozy with bunk beds and a small fireplace. With a tv and Wi-Fi, it was a stark contrast to the rustic lodgings they had imagined.
"This is a gaming spot!" Mia exclaimed as she plugged a Nintendo Entertainment System console into the TV.
"I heard about gaming, it's like a form of entertainment here," Elara said, watching Mia with curiosity as she inserted a Athena cartridge into the console. "What is this Athena?"
"It's a 1986 platform arcade video game developed and published by SNK, the game shows Athena was the young, headstrong princess of the heavenly Kingdom of Victory. She was bored of the monotonous daily life in the palace and desired exciting adventures. One day, she opened the "Door Which Shouldn't Be Opened" in the basement of Castle Victory, said to lead to a savage and deadly place. As she dared cross the doorway, it caused her to fall from the skies and to another realm called Fantasy World, which was dominated by the evil Emperor Dante, isn't it ironic?" Mia said, her thumbs dancing over the buttons.
Elara watched the pixelated characters on the screen, her mind racing. "A princess seeking adventure, much like me," she murmured, her eyes lighting up with curiosity. "Teach me this game, Mia."
Mia grinned and handed over the controller. "It's easy, you just jump and shoot arrows."
Elara took the controller tentatively, her heart racing as she attempted to mimic Mia's movements. The pixelated Athena on the screen was clumsy at first, but with Mia's patient guidance, she quickly got the hang of it. They played for hours, laughing as Elara's digital counterpart stumbled and grew more adept. The game's retro charm grew on Elara, and she found it a delightful distraction from the stress of her real-life predicament.
Then Elara finally finished the game, the night comes in the camp, and the campers gathered around the campfire. The crackling flames cast a warm glow on their faces as they roasted marshmallows and shared stories. Elara and Mia sat close together, feeling a sense of belonging and contentment that they hadn't felt in a long time.
"....when the sweet mean girl walked to the monster ballerina!" One of the campers concluded her horror story, and the group erupted in laughter.
"Okay, just always have a horror." Elara said, taking a deep breath and leaning back into Mia's arms.
Then, a boy with orange hair named TJ said. "Okay, here is a new scary story."
"Is it horror and gorey, I am not scared." Elara said.
"Unfortunately, it was a legend of the fairy tale villain. The two scary fairy tale villains are Morgana and Lila." TJ began, his eyes flickering with the fire's light.
Mia stiffened, glancing at Elara, who remained stoic, though a hint of worry etched her brow.
"This story about Morgana has her own dark magic, and she's always accompanied by a creature she created," TJ continued, his voice dropping to a dramatic whisper. "Her own daughter, it's Lila, who's also got a taste for the dark arts. They say that together, they're unstoppable....through they are horror monsters from the dark fairy tales, they are believed to be trapped in the crystal mirror world. But then, they are escape and live in the shadows of our own world, watching and waiting for the perfect time to strike. If you heard for a twisted tale, also you got horror and twist for....Morgana and Lila!"
Then, a figure came out. "It's Morgana and Lila!" One of the campers shrieked, pointing at the shadowy figure that emerged from the woods. The campers' screamed in terror and confusion, scattering around the campfire. Also, the figure revealed was Meira, Elara's mother, who was been hiding the bushes, she's wearing a cloak, her eyes were filled with desperation.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." Meira stepped into the light, her eyes searching for Elara.
Elara's heart leapt as she recognized her mother. She jumped from the bench, dropping the half-eaten marshmallow. "Mother!" She rushed to Meira, her eyes wide with shock.
"Elara, I almost scared you first, but right now, I know Morgana and Lila are making a creature was Hydrosis." Meira said urgently, gripping her daughter's hand tightly.
Elara felt a shiver run down her spine at the mention of the creature's name. "Hydrosis?" She whispered, her eyes darting around the campground.
"Yes, it's a creature of water and malice," Meira said, her voice low and urgent. "They sent it here to harm you and Mia, to prevent both of you."
Just for then, a water tornado came out from the lake, and the creature Hydrosis emerged, its body glistening with water droplets in the moonlight. It hissed as it spotted Elara and Mia, its sharp teeth gleaming. The campers screamed and ran in panic, and TJ froze in fear.
"What is that?" Elara gasped, her eyes wide with terror as she stared at the creature. Hydrosis's long, snake-like body slithered closer, its human torso rising out of the water, the scales shimmering under the moon's soft glow.
"It's Hydrosis, a creature of the dark arts," Meira said, her voice tight with tension. "We must work together to defeat it."
With Meira's spoken, Elara pulls a book, with any pages that could transform anything. It was a Transformable Book, then she opens the book and said her transformation. "By the power of the ancient scrolls, I, Elara, heir to the throne of Adoria, call upon the power of the stars!" A bright light enveloped Elara, and when it faded, she was transformed into a anthromorphical wolf with a tiara on her forehead.
"Elara, you been..." Mia's voice trailed off as she took in Elara's transformed state. Her eyes went wide with astonishment.
Elara, now in her anthromorphic wolf form, turned to face Mia. "You're not afraid of me, are you?" She asked, her voice a mix of hope and fear.
Mia stared at her for a moment, then shook her head. "No, Elara. I'm just... surprised." She took a step closer, reaching out to touch the soft fur of Elara's transformed body. "This is incredible. You're so beautiful."
"Better than ever." Elara said with a smirk, her newfound form filled her with a sense of power and protection. The creature, Hydrosis, let out a shriek and lunged towards them.
Just then, Elara speeds herself with her speeding attack and slaying the Hydrosis with a swift and precise blow, sending it back into the lake from where it came. The campers watched in amazement, their fear quickly turning into curiosity.
"Elara, what was that?" Mia managed to ask, her heart still racing from the encounter.
"It's a long story," Elara said, transforming back into her human form. "But I guess we'll have to tell it now."
They gathered around Meira, who began to explain the situation. "Elara, my dear, you must know that your existence in the mortal world is not an accident. You possess a power that can threaten Morgana and Lila's rule in Adoria. That's why they sent you here, to keep you from claiming your rightful place."
The campers' expressions shifted from fear to awe as they listened to Meira's revelations. They had stumbled upon a fairy tale come to life, and it was all happening right before their eyes.
"So, who wants for a kiss?" Elara asked with a cheeky smile, trying to lighten the mood after the intense battle. Then Mia leaned in and kissed Elara softly on the lips, the warmth of their affection spreading through the chilly night air.
Then Meira got reacted at the two girls are kissing. "Ah, love in the air," she said with a gentle smile. "But we have no time for that now, my dear daughter. We must prepare for what's to come."
Then, they broke the kiss and looked into each other's eyes, the gravity of the situation sinking in. They knew that their quiet camping trip had just taken a dramatic turn. Meira looked around at the campers, who were now watching them with a mix of awe and bewilderment. She cleared her throat and raised her hand to command their attention.
"This isn't what it looks like?" Mia whispered nervously to Elara, glancing at the campers who were staring at them.
Well, they are special for their camp, but only they are good for them. Elara and Mia are good timing for their camp. Then, they are good and ready to battle for the future of Adoria.
