Chapter 66:

We got our main heroine!

The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter

"Any volunteers? Anyone?", Mizuki asked her classmates. Immediately people started to break eye contact with her in denial of her request.

"I cant do that. Its too embarrassing.", chatter filled the room, "Im too shy for these stuffs."

It looked like none was willing to volunteer. She started eyeing everyone, trying to find a perfect candidate and encourage her to do it.

"How about you?", her eyes locked on Ayane, "If it's you, Ayane-chan, then I know you can do it."

"Eh?! Me?!", Ayane exclaimed.

"You have experience in this field. You have knowledge of it and you have shown it before, right?"

"But that was way before..."

"That's not a problem, I know that. Someone once told me. Skills that take years to develop takes years to forget. If you volunteer then it will, for sure, be completed in ten days."

"Eh?", Ayane looked around. All eyes was on her. She was building up pressure inside herself. It reminded her of the not so good memories of her middle school.

"I will be relieved if it were you, Ayane-chan.", Miko, the girl who sat in front of her, encouraged her.

"I saw your films too. Those were great!", another one added, "It was professional."

Suddenly the room was filled with people praising her, unlike her middle school days. Her pressure broke, and it was filled with hope.

"You guys are praising me too much...", she denied the praises lightly.

"Your help can make our stage play a success. Please, we need your help."

Ayane thought for a bit. It was true. Given her past experiences, she can act without embarrassment. It would be good for her too. It would give her a chance, the first step, in re-entering the acting industry.

"Okay.", Ayane said after a pause.

"Well then, we got our main heroine!", one of them cheered, followed by others. They were awfully excited.

"Now, time for the other roles-"

Time passed beyond the homeroom and into the first period. They were still recruiting students for assigned posts. It was a lot of work, and it got messy overtime. Currently only a few roles were selected.

The homeroom teacher will be the director, one of the classmates, Miko, volunteered to be the script writer. Apparently her hobby was writing. She was going to write something called, "Despised Delight", she came up with the name. It sounded romantic.

There were some other side actors who volunteered for the role.

"U-Um...", an invisible student stood up, mustering all his courage. His name was Kouta, a seemingly unnoticeable character, who was living in the fog all this time, "C-can I-I... volunteer as the m-male lead?", he cringed at his own words.

Some of the guys protested, "Eh?! No way! I was going to be volunteering!"

"No, it was my idea first!", another guy stood up.

"No- he is perfect!", Miko stopped the argument, confusing everyone, "An invisible character like him is going to be perfect for the script I will be writing!"

"So that settles it.", Mizuki added.

Kouta tighten his grip beneath his desk, acknowledging his success.
