The invisible hopscotch.

Both of them got out of the school main building, when a huge gust of wind blew on their face. It swayed Ayane's hair in the air, while she was trying to hold her skirt. Kanako protected his eyes from getting dust in it.

"It might rain anytime soon.", he commented, looking at the cloudy sky, "We better hurry.". Ayane nodded her head in agreement.

Kanako was taking a different route than usual. He was going to the left side of the school premises for some reason. Ayane tagged along, not knowing what to expect.

"Where are you going?", she curiously asked.

He had a smug. "You will see.", he continued walking, Ayane tagging along with him. "You know what, can you wait for me at the school gate?", he requested. "I want to surprise you."

What that might be? She wondered. He was acting different than usual. He was very happy. Well, he is always in a cheerful mood, but this time it was much more saturated. "Okay"

They parted ways from the time being. Ayane went to the school gate, walking steadily while looking at the sky in wonder. The clouds were moving faster than usual. She shivered. "Its very cold...", crossing her arm, she felt her triceps being ice cold due to the weather. There was only a few steps between her and the school gate. She stood there, not moving an inch, before sighing. "My inner child is pretty active today, isn't it? I wonder why..."

Putting one leg up, she dared herself to play a game of invisible hopscotch up to the school gate.

"One... two... three... four... five... six and done! I won!", she paused and giggled to herself, before leaning herself on the school gate, waiting for Kanako to come. She stared up in the sky, losing herself in useless thoughts. Her surroundings went dull as she concentrated on the voice in her head, doing useless things.

Her head picked up on a sound, a ringing sound. Looking at that direction, she saw Kanako walking towards her, with a glossy, new bicycle, with both is hands on the handles, as he continued to smile and ring the bell.
