Someone snitched.

"Eh?! But... but I have never ridden a bicycle sitting on the passenger seat. I might fall...", she said hesitantly, playing with her fingers.

"You won't. I will protect you. So hop on!"

"Eh!?", she remained quiet for a moment, deciding what to do. A bicycle passenger ride sounded fun, but it looked scary. Should she take the risk? She thought for a moment, before trying to hop on it.

Kanako giggled. "Thanks to agreeing with my kidnapping plan?"

"That sounds wired."

"It sured does!"

Her balance was unsteady. It was as if she was almost going to fall. Ayane unconsciously held on to Kanako's shirt, grabbing it tightly.

"That won't do.", Kanako nodded his head.

"What?"

"U have to hold onto me tightly to make sure you won't fall."

Ayane sat perpendicular to Kanao, her feet on one side. She slowly grabbed Kanako's waist tightly, trying to be comfortable.

Kanako giggled. It felt ticklish. "Okay then, here we go!", he pressed on the paddle, moving it forward.

Ayane felt anxious. What if she falls? What if she becomes the reason Kanako loses balance and gets into an accident? Her grips got tighter as she closed her eyes.

Kanako noticed. "You don't need to be that scared. Just ease up. Look! You can see the sea from here clearly! And the wind is feeling good too!", he assured.

She opened her eyes. Wind was blowing against her face. The air cooled the eyelids of her moon eyes, and she felt the coolness every time she blinked. Kanako's warmth contrasted that feeling. His body was warm, unlike hers. She always had cold hands from childhood. It felt numb. But his warm body lessened her numbness a lot. She glanced at Kanako's face, staring at him, as he was looking far out, smiling.

"Ayane-chan?! What are you doing?", Kanako's body shivered as Ayane touched his warm cheek with her cold hands.

Ayane giggled. "Sorry sorry. I was just thinking what kind of reaction you would have."

Kanako didn't answer. His face was concerning. "Wrap your hands tightly around my waist so your hands doesn't freeze."

She looked at his face. Seeing him concerned, she smiled unconsciously. He might be the first person someone had cared this much for her, after her mother. "Okay.", she said as she wrapped her hands and leaned on his back, resting her head on his shoulder. "Im tired. Do you mind?"

"Nope. I guess you are tired because of the cultural festival activity announcement, right?"

"Yeah."

"Your class got the stage play program. Congrats ! Our main heroine!"

"That's why you were so excited beforehand. How did you know about it before the announcement though?"

"I have friends in the student council."

"Eh? Someone snitched."

Kanako laughed. "If you think so. Main heroine."
