Which One Is The Correct Answer?

“I am just joking.”

The woman suddenly confesses about what really happened last night.

“What do you mean?”

“I said all things I said before, is lie. The truth is you just too drunk last night and coincidentally I found you lied in front my door,” explain the woman.

“I am too drunk?”

As I know, I don’t drink alcohol. Wait, I feel so dizzy thinking about what just happened right now.

“So, can you go back to your own room or whatever it is? I need to go work after this,” said that woman.

“I don’t know where my room is. And I don’t even know what I am doing in this hotel. Are you sure that I was drunk last night? Maybe you are the one who kidnap me here. That’s why there were too many missed calls from my girlfriend,” I voice my opinion.

“Listen. First, I have a picture of you lied in front of my room last night. Second, I don’t think that your girlfriend is still your girlfriend as you said why she left you for that man in your sleep. Don’t worry, I have record your sleep talking in my phone. Lastly, what I will gain from kidnapping you? You are not even a celebrity. Your wallet just fills with a lot of unused coupon.”

“You open my wallet?”

“Of course. This is one of my jobs. Now that I have explain everything, please get out from here.”

Without hearing my word, she just pushes me away out from her room. Before she closes her door, she give me her business card.

“Whenever you feel in trouble, please be free to call me.”

Kazuki Arisa. If I am not mistaken, she is one of famous lawyer that always win in all cases she handled.

“Really? Right, I am in trouble right now. Please help me, Kazuki-san!”

“You are not in trouble. You just a trouble to me. Have a nice day then!,” she said while closing her door.

Walking aimlessly, I look around this hotel and wondering what I am doing here last night. If I am not mistaken, I should sleep peacefully after did a video call with Sayuri-san. Right, I should just call Sayuri-san to confirm what happen last night. I think all of this is prank show. I don’t know how they did this kind of things but surely it success. All of the missed call from Sayuri-san also just one of their plan to throw me off. I will call Sayuri-san. After a few beep, Sayuri-san pick up my call. But her reaction is not what I expected.

“Yukimura-san, please for the last time, go away from my life. I don’t want you to disturb my life anymore. I don’t need you,” Sayuri-san said with a cold tone.

“T-this is a prank, right? So, can you stop your act right now?”

“Act? What kind of nonsense you are talking right now?”

“Everything! How I am suddenly in the hotel and sleep in the room with another person. This is your plan right? I know this is one of your surprises.”

“Lucky for you. You have find another woman to replace me in your heart. I hope you can find another happiness with her after this. Is that all that you want to said?” Sayuri-san said with a slow tone but fill with some encouragement.

“What are you talking about? No, I don’t even know that person and I don’t like her. Why you sound so sad? This is crazy! You are near here right? Come out right now!”

“I said last night. I don’t think that we can be lovers anymore. I already got engaged to another person and we decided to get married next month. That’s why this is end for us.”

Her response make me more confused. Did she really said that this is the end for us? I can’t believe this.

“Show me the proof that you are engage to your fiancée. I can’t accept all of this after we are talking happily last night through video call.”

“Video call? I don’t remember that we had a video call last night. We just have a normal phone call. After I said that we are not lover anymore, you hung up my call suddenly. I trying to call you again a few times but no response.”

“Stop! Please, tell me what happens right now?”

“Just as I said before. Is that all? I need to pack my things as I am not longer work at our company. Starting tomorrow I will live with my fiancée overseas. I think this will be our last conversation. If there are times I have hurt you, sorry. What I want to say is our times together is precious to me but I don’t have any courage to protect it anymore. Please be happy and goodbye my old love.”

After that, she hangs up. Empty but hurt. What is this feeling? This so suddenly. Should I call her again? I trying to call Sayuri-san but she not pick up my call. Why? The tears slowly falling. Am I crying?

“Sorry but why are you crying here?” I heard a familiar voice.

“K-kazuki-san? I am not crying! Did somebody cut onions around here? My eyes is so sensitive with onions. Don’t worry about me. You can just go,” I trying to not make her worry about me.

“Many people is looking at you. Lets go somewhere quiet and tell me what is happen to you.”

I tell everything about what happened to me last night to Kazuki-san.

“In my opinion, you need to make medical checkup. I afraid that your mental health start to worsening right now.”

I am wrong to trust this lawyer.

“Is that what you want to say to me? Sorry but I need to go.”

“Wait! If what you did last night really happens, you can check the record on your phone.”

Yes! Why don’t I even think about that? But the result is disappointed. There are no record of our video call last night in my phone.

“Why there is no record here?”

“As I said, everything you said is just your imagination. That’s why you should go hospital after this.”

“No! I will show you what happen last night is real!”

I can check Sayuri-san’s social media. As I scroll down, I find many picture of her with another man. They look so happy with each other. Her last update showing her kissing with that man. Everything inside me is slowly crumbling.

“They look so happy! It remind of me when I was with my boyfriend before. So, what is it you want to show me earlier. You are not saying that a woman in this picture is your girlfriend right?” ask Kazuki-san.

“That’s enough, Kazuki-san. Thank you everything. Now, let me excuse myself.”

There is no hope anymore. Everything that happen without I know. Should I accept all of this? If this is a nightmare, please wake me up. If this is reality, please let it end.

“By any chance, you are not from here right?”

Kazuki-san’s question make me confuse.

“Yes. Why are you asking?” I am answering her questions.

“Not that what I mean. You are not from this world, right?”

It even more confusing. Is she want to say that I already dead? Or alien?

“What do you mean?”

“This reality is not your reality. That’s why your memory is not align with other person’s memory.”

“What is your evident that I am not from this reality? As a lawyer yourself , you should know what are you saying right now is unreasonable.”

“Of course, unless I already experience this.”

“Yes. Yesterday, I just sleep happily after won a very important case and suddenly I woke up in hotel room, found you lying down in front of my door. And I don’t think you are lying about your story just now.”

“Yes. Now we need to find why this happen to us and how to stop this changing reality. By the way, what is your name?”

“Yukimura Eita. 25 years old.”

“You are two year younger than me? I think you should find how to respect people who are older than you first,” Kazuki-san said while smirking to me.
