Mrs Hideki's escape

Kōga finally let his mother's hand go, turning around towards Yoshio.

"I saw him, but he was wearing a half-mask. He had the power around him. She was suppressed by him, and I think she could not move for some time, and then he bit her. Finally, she managed to run, when he... When he grabbed her. She then managed to teleport a bit and ran off. She is not good at teleporting anymore, I don't think. But he did not follow her, somehow. He definitely had the capacity to. He let her go, and.. well, he smiled at me. As if he knew I was looking at him." He paused, observing his hand, "fucking creepy, if you ask me".

Yoshio squinted his eyes, listening attentively. "Did you see any other feature of his face or body maybe?" He asked after a pause.

"Yes, he had long black hair, however, I am not sure if it's not a wig or something, because it hides everything well. His clothes were also baggy, with nothing to see. However, as he well, smiled at me, I saw he had fangs, like the predators have. But I am not sure if he was a fox. Mother would be able to tell since she was near him." He looked back at her, "I will ask it for you. Please don't make her talk to you about it. I will let you know."

Yoshio hesitated, then said, standing up, "Okay, if you insist, I will trust you then. We should discuss the girl. Should we go to the other room?"

"Sure. Do you want your little birdy to listen too?"

Yoshio slightly frowned, but did not comment on how he referred to Makio. "I think we should, yes. Let's go downstairs, and tell Nami to come back here."

Yoshio then appeared in front of one of the tables in the shop, however Kōga chose to take the stairs. As he was coming down, he saw his sister yelling at Makio. He paused, not sure of what he should do. He did not want to impose on her life, however, after hearing the topic of conversation, his ears moved to listen in. As he observed Makio replying - his face handsome and reserved, his voice low and calm - he smiled. Then he turned to the restaurant, not paying further attention.

Yoshio's popped out, "Hey, did you see Maki by any chance?"

Kōga nodded toward the back door and sat down. Yoshio teleported again. Kōga rolled his eyes saying, "Those freaking lonely yokai, not being able to move normally."

He then saw the two men coming towards him, walking, and mumbled something that sounded like "and now you are not in a hurry to teleport, huh?". They sat down, Makio avoided Kōga's eyes the whole time.

"Well, we should start from the very beginning. Tell us everything you know about the girl, " Yoshio said seriously.

"Sure," Kōga felt exhausted, yawning lazily, "As I have already told your pretty birdy here," he motioned towards Makio, "I bumped into her accidentally on the street, and noticed her power, as well as, had a vision, as I often do when I touch people." He paused, noticing how Makio raised his head rapidly, catching his gaze, for a second. Full of himself he winked at Makio, making him uncomfortable. "Anyway, we bumped, I saw a potential future that she might be assaulted, so I decided to let her know by leaving her the notes. I had no intention to be creepy, it's just I had learned her home address through vision too..."

"Aha, very convenient power you have there. Future, past, someone's address?" Yoshio was not impressed, fully suspecting him of stalking.

"You can believe me, or not. As you wish, Mister Big Bird. I am not lying, there is nothing in it for me. I told you. I thought it would be more creepy if I showed up at her door. So I did what I thought was optimal, at the time, and maybe it was stupid because clearly she still got into trouble."

Yoshio tsk-ed, annoyed. "So what about the power to see people's addresses?"

Kōga rolled his eyes, "Obviously it had to do with the vision. I do not choose the content. I saw her walking inside with a parcel in her hand, somebody grabbing her hand at the moment. So that's how I knew."

Makio turned to Yoshio, "Master..." immediately he felt uncomfortable calling him that, but what made it worse, was that he heard Kōga snicker sarcastically. He cleared his throat, "I think the fox is not lying, I mean he knew that I would come to meet him, so..."

"I know, he showed it to me just now, it's not about his powers, but his creepy behaviour that I was asking. Anyway, I think we should forget all about it, and ask you to help us if you would be willing to. At the moment this whole case involves your family too, so maybe you would be interested in joining, with your power we might get there closer."

"Master!" Makio was shocked, he lowered his voice,"I think we can manage..."

"Maki." He turned to Kōga, who sat there, as if the conversation did not concern him, looking at something on the back of his hand "Would you be interested?"

"Mister Big Bird, you all seem very preoccupied. But I must decline. These matters do not concern me. If you have an urgent question one day, I will assist, I guess, because of today. However, I am not that charitable." He smiled, fakely, and stood up waving his hands, "Now, I think it would be time for both of you to leave."

Understanding that the conversation was over, both of them stood up, and nodded slightly to Kōga, leaving. Makio glanced at him briefly but Kōga seemed unbothered never acknowledging him. However, when both tengu had disappeared, a slight smile emerged on his face.
