Chapter 2: Settling in

2 Years After The Recent Events

Kai Weston is walking around the house, seems like he settled in nicely, and is learning quite fast.

“This world isn't so bad after all, we are living a normal life in our little house, at a little town, there aren't many things to do, just a few local shops, and farmers,”

He continues walking and then says “my dads name is Alfred, Alfred Weston, and my moms name is Sophia with her last name being Miller.”

he jumps to the door knob and opens the door to a room “This is our attic, it's pretty small but it gets the job done, i get in here to read some books,”

he barely reaches a book on the bookshelf, and puts it down to read “hm, what is this book about-” he stops in the middle of his sentence as he reads the title.

“MAGIC?!” he says shocked but then remembers.

“Actually I do remember my mom using it to make fire, but more importantly that Hakujin guy was right, there is magic in this world, so maybe he is a god!”

He opens the book and starts flipping through the pages.

After a solid 30 minutes or so he says “I think i get it now,”

Kai gets up, holds up his arm in front of him, and starts to focus “imagine the mana flowing through your body to where you want to use the magic,” he starts to imagine, and feel the power going through him “and now imagine the shape” he starts to imagine a water ball.

“WATER BALL!” The mana starts to flow, and the ball takes shape in his imagination.

But the end result is a little droplet of water falling on his shoes, then he lets off a disappointed laugh “I don't feel so good-” and he passes out.

2 Years Later

“It's been 2 years since i discovered magic,” he says to himself, then starts using water magic to drop water balls in buckets “i started doing this routine every day to increase my mana.”

After a couple of hours Kai finishes his little training routine and turns to the bookshelf “Of course i never stopped reading books,” he says reaching for the book easily “i just can't get enough of learning about this world, and it's magic.”

Kai sits down, and sets the book in front of him as he starts flipping through it “I still haven't finished this book yet, but i learned a lot of things.” he says, but still continuing to flip through the pages looking for where he stopped the day before “There are 4 magic types, Fire, Water, Air, and Earth, it's not so different from any typical anime magic system.”

He stops for a second as he reaches the page he stopped at the day before, and he reads the first lines “YES! I finally found it,” he says excitedly “How To Launch Magic.” He reads.

After a couple of minutes he finally understands “so same process but just imagining a little amount of mana boosting it to be launched?”

“It's a good time to test how much mana I have after all this training.”

He gets up, goes to the window and holds his hand in front of him, closing his eyes, his mana seems to be larger, and he can feel it, it’s so strong that the wind is starting to spin around him, as if a very small tornado is being formed. The water ball in front of his hand is bigger than Kai himself, but he doesn't notice because his eyes are closed.

“WATER BALL!”

He starts to imagine the small amount of mana that will boost the water ball, and he does it, the water ball is launched across the small town, reaching the farms and finally exploding in the air, and making it seem like it just rained.

“Whoa-” Kai says and passes out on the floor, and his parents rush in.

“KAI!” his father Alfred yells, he inspects the room, and sees Kai on the floor, with a magic book next to him, he is ecstatic as he finally understands that his son is learning magic, and then Sophia comes in almost in tears scared for Kai, but Alfred turns to her holding the magic book.

“Everything is okay.” Alfred says sighing.
