Chapter 75:

#075 Death Claims Us All

Lucky Draw [100 word stories]

Family-owned, Cementerio de las Rosas had always been my home. I still dream about its winding roads; a city for the dead. Then, to everyone’s shock, the gravestones started to disappear.

Local rumours spread like wildfire, but -as it tends to- interest faded over time. Who cared when it were always the graves of the unremembered? And yet, I had my suspicions.

I would see the sweeping motion of a long, black dress in the corner of my vision… the sweet smell of pan de muerto on the back of my tongue.

Eventually, La Muerte comes to claim us all.
