Chapter 14:
A ghoulish Lovesung
A few days after the incident, a woman with a shaved head wearing a beige long sleeve crop top along with brown bell-bottom jeans and sneakers strolled into a laboratory. A brooding scowl was plastered upon her face along with white and black paint and makeup. When asked to give a name, she merely replied, "Assïac."
Her target was a lazy young scientist lounging at his workstation. "You are the smartest mind, here, yes?"
The scientist cracked open an eye before nearly falling out of his chair in shock. "Whoa, whoa! You're mega hot! Bald head, no eyebrows, nice body, and rocking sneakers? That's all my kinks in one! You a goddess or something!"
The woman didn't show much reaction, though to be fair, her naturally brooding face could count as her showing her disgust towards the man. Regardless of his attraction towards her, she had a mission to do.
"I am Assïac. Now, let us make a wager over a game of chess," the woman glared as she pointed the king of Assïac at the man.
The man stared in bewilderment as a chessboard suddenly appeared, yet he wasn't forced to sit down, showing that he presumably had a higher elo than the woman. However, his curiosity had been stirred and he graciously accepted the gamble.
...
At police HQ, Tyler scowled as he sat across from Angela in the interrogation room.
"And why am I here? Pray tell you don't consider me the culprit," Angela smirked.
"With that smirk of yours, I sure as hell would. But you're here as a witness for the Lovesung case."
"Still stumped?"
Tyler growled and proceeded to state the facts. After police arrived at the farm on November 1st, 2014, they found two corpses. One was of a beheaded Benny "Big Guy" Guster, and the other belonging to Oswald "Sick-O" Cobblestone. A pumpkin mask and 19th century outfit were found in the trunk of Oswald's car, along with an explosive device hidden under the driver's seat. Based on information from the investigation of Oswald Dennis Osbourne's death, it was clear to police that Sick-O was the mastermind behind this whole ordeal. As for his death, they assumed the it was likely at the hands of one of the Lovesung sisters, but the case didn't end there.
Despite repeated calls to their estate, neither of the sisters answered any calls, nor have been seen since. Though a neighbor reportedly noticed a woman with a shaved head wearing bell-bottom jeans and sneakers leaving the apartment on the night of November 3rd.
"Anything else of note?"
"Yes, two things in fact. The first was that a man reportedly can't remember how he arrived at the Lovesung sister's estate."
"What do you mean?"
"He was driving home late past midnight on November 2nd, then the next thing he knows, it's the next day and he's at the Lovesung sister's estate. He was actually reported missing when he didn't return home on the 2nd, but well, we found him, obviously."
"Hmm, and the second thing of note?"
Tyler pulled out a plastic bag containing a record. "This was found at the estate when we went there this morning. Some sheet music in Mia's handwriting was found alongside it, and states that the record contains what she dubs, "The Last Lovesung". We haven't listened to it yet, but figured we call you in first, to give any insight."
Agatha scowled and quickly ordered Tyler to play the record. "Her final message is clearly there. Play it posthaste!"
