Sudden Revelation

“What are you doing here, Aika-san?” I become speechless after seeing her here at the station. I thought that we would meet tonight for dinner. But that is not the problem.

“Wait, is that you Marina?” Aika-san look so surprise to see Marina here.

“Yes! Long time does not see, Aika!” Marina greeted her old schoolmate cheerly.

Aika-san ‘s response is not quite good though. She seems restless since earlier. Is there something between them? Is it true what Marina said earlier? I can’t judge the situation too early. I should observe what their conversation will be. Then, Aika-san suddenly come closer to me and asking me in quiet voice.

“How, when, why, what, where and who introduce you to this woman, Kouta-kun?”

She is using all the 5W’s and 1H! I just remember this really helps when we need to write essays when I was a student before. It’s so nostalgic…

“Answer me!” Aika-san’s voice slowly became louder.

“Sorry. The truth is I met with her through Shinji. Believe me there is nothing happen between us.”

I hope this explanation is enough for Aika-san.

“Yes! We are just a friend!”

Nice, Marina! Now, I need to know why Aika-san is here waiting for me at station.

“Aika-san, may I know why are you here? I thought that we will meet tonight?”

“I miss you so much! I can’t wait to see you and that’s why I waiting you here!”

Aika-san’s tone sounds weird. Is that how she talks normally? I thought she was a cool person. Who cares? Her version now is cuter, and I like it.

“R-really? I also miss you Aika-san!”

“Just die both you.”

I can heard you, Marina.

“Homura-san, when you will treat me to the good restaurant. I am so hugry!”

Marina! Can you understand our situation right now? Is you idiot?

“What is that mean, Kouta-kun? You will treat that woman?”

Aika-san’s question made me suddenly tremble. Since earlier, Aika-san address Marina as that woman. Did both really know each other?

“I will explain to you Aika! How about you join us together? We can talk more about this during eating later,” said Marina.

“Wai-“

“I agree with that. Kouta-kun, lets go,” said Aika-san too.

I think this is my first time eating here. Marina said the food here is delicious and the price is reasonable too.

“How this place?” ask Marina.

“This place looks nice. I read the menu here and everything is so good! I think I can cover this much expenses for our lunch,” I said while flipping menu book.

Although, the person next to me seemed restless since we arrived at the restaurant.

“Are you okay, Aika-san?”

“O-okay. I just feel awkward because this is my first time here,” reply Aika-san.

It does not sound convincing to me. Maybe after eating, she will be happy again.

“I will kill that b***h later.”

Aika-san? What happened to her today? Is there really anything between Marina and Aika-san before? While waiting for the order, Marina kindly explain what happen between me and her to Aika-san. I don’t know that Marina is so good at explaining things without exposing too much. She also knows to sugarcoat some story to make it convincing to Aika-san.

“If what that woman said earlier is true, I will believe you, Kouta-kun.”

Thankfully, she believes what Marina told her. Thank you, Marina! I will remember this as long as I live.

“This is your or…der?

A waiter is here delivering our order to our table. But he looked so surprised. Is there a trend that everyone should be surprised when meeting someone? Can I join that trend too?

“Aika-chan, is that you?”

Aika-chan? What do you mean? Why is that waiter calling Aika-chan? When and how did he know Aika-chan? Where did they meet? And why Aika-chan?

“Sorry but I don’t know you. Maybe you mistake me for someone else?” said Aika-san while hiding her face with her handbag.

“How can I mistake you for someone else? That handbag is my present to you. Don’t you remember?” said that waiter.

“A-are you kidding me? I bought this myself,” answer Aika-san nervously.

“I will show the picture both of us when bought that handbag yesterday, then.”

The waiter then shows us the picture. I am so surprise. Is that her or this waiter just edited Aika-san’s picture and put it there.

“Aika-san, what is the meaning all of this?” I still hope that everything is not true.

“True. Everything is true. I feel so light right now. Right, this waiter, you and other man is ‘my boyfriend’. I am doing this just for fun. I never thought this would be my end. People like you is too easy. Sometime, your reaction is so good that makes me want to continue this act. B***h, are you happy now? I know that you planned this. You purposefully brought us here knowing that waiter is working here.”

Aika-san’s sudden change made me bewildered. Is this the true Aika-san? My head is blank. The waiter go away from our table earlier after knowing the truth. Right. Normally, I should be angry right now. I can’t. I don’t know how to react.

“You still have not changed, Aika. Of course, I plan all of this. You never feel bored playing other man’s hearts. In the first place, you should avoid going on a date with different people in the same place,” said Marina calmly.

“Same place?”

“The park near the apartment here. I live in that apartment and sometimes I will take a walk in the park in the evening. I can say that I always saw you there with different man sitting on bench while kissing. You should think about what other people feel when looking at you there. Coincidentally, I found the waiter’s working place and that is my perfect plan.”

“I admit this is my loss. Now everything is revealed. Homura, see you again next Monday. Not as a lover, just an acquaintance. Thank you for the food. And this fake moment.”

After Aika-san said that she left the restaurant while glaring at Marina.

“Should not you thank me, Kouta? That woman finally shows her true color.”

“You are lucky, right?”

“K-kouta?”

“Are you happy right now? I just break up with Aika-san although it just a fake relationship. But I am still happy! I finally can feel how it is to have a girlfriend! Then you appear in front of me again. Why are you here?”

No this is not what I want to say!

“I don’t mean to hurt you, Kouta,” said Marina.

“Meeting with you makes me lose something again. But, by meeting with me, you achieve something. How can this world be so unfair? I only just want a girlfriend. Now, I feel so lame. After this, you will go to your boyfriend, but me? How will I face her at workplace later? Maybe I prefer this fake relationship to continue than being in this situation. I want to go home.”

Stop it me! Why am I angry with Marina? I should be angry with Aika-san. No, I should be angry with myself! Who cares. I should not have a girlfriend in the first place. I should not try to find my true love. Everything is just fake. Maybe for me love is just a fake feeling that I should not know. Suddenly….

“I will become your true love then!”
