Chapter 13:

Getting tailed

Give me back what's mine

After spending more on breakfast than I generally spend on food for an entire weekend, I decided the next place I would go to make Rachel’s bank suffer would be the expensive clothing shop I had passed on the way. I paid for my food, gave a generous 50% tip out of the goodness of Rachel’s heart, and headed off down the street.

As I walked I thought back on the conversation I had had with Grace. ‘The next day you fucking hit me again.’ For whatever reason, Rachel hadn’t taken the opportunity I gave her to fix her bond with her friend, and instead escalated to violence once again. I had to wonder just how frantic she was. It had been days since the switches began, you’d think she’d have calmed down a little, but it seemed that wasn’t the case.

In hindsight, locking her in a dark room with no range of motion maybe wasn’t the best move, but I was already past the point of wanting to help her fix her life. She had spat in the face of that chance, and I wasn’t about to offer her another one.

That being said, if her erratic behaviour leads to her assaulting someone again, she could end up getting one of us put in jail. That would completely ruin my fun, so I had to try and prevent that where possible. Not that I could do much with whichever body she was in possession of at any given time.

A little more stewing over my misfortune later, and I found that I had arrived at the clothes shop. Just looking at the utterly extortionate prices of the items in the window made me smile. This would be a perfect place to use Rachel’s bank account to vent my anger.

I entered the shop and headed for the section filled with skirts and the like, since the ripped trousers were the thing that most urgently needed replacing. As I browsed, however, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye.

Someone was following me. At first I thought it to be someone else whose ire Rachel had earned, but then I noticed their uniform. It was an employee tailing me.

I cackled under my breath. I could only imagine how much it would infuriate the stuck-up rich girl this body belonged to if she found out that high end shops had marked her as a potential thief due to her appearance. And I didn’t even have a hand in it, it was entirely her own doing.

Despite the very conspicuous employee that just so happened to move every time I moved, I did manage to pick out some nice looking (and expensive) clothes to try, and began to make my way towards the changing rooms. I was stopped, however, by another familiar voice.

“Considering your situation, should you really be dropping hundreds of pounds on clothes? Foolish girl.”

The woman in front of me was Rachel’s mother.
