The new cadet

A line of people was formed in front of a table where a lot of them were signing and giving them a card and bag. The one sitting down in front of the table was an officer, he had his hat put at the side of the table and he was wearing a white and gray uniform.

—NEXT! Oh… Let me see, Yasu De Cruz, is that correct?

—Yes, that is me, sir

—Alright, firm here, here and here —the officer pointed out blank spaces with his pen and then gave the pen to the young man.

After signing, the officer gave the young man a card that said with a picture of him:

The officer extended his hand and Yasu extended as well.

The young man took the bag, it was a black one that close by itself making it look difficult to open, Yasu leaved the line, just to leave the building after, the building had the name “Internal Force for External Dangers” and the words “IFED” in big above the explanation of the letters.

Yasu kept walking and went underground to take the train, in there just a couple of minutes passed and he entered and took a spot at the side of the door, holding a belt from the ceiling of the train, looking at the exterior. The train started in a few minutes, and started its travel, the train starting to leave underground and went from above starting to travel between rails above.

Yasu took a quick peek at the sides, there were a lot of people in the train gossiping and talking around. He took a pair of headphones, and took a box out of his pocket, pressed a button and continued looking at the landscape.

Big buildings, drones were passing by, it wasn’t easy to distinguish people below thanks to the speed of the train. Yasu looked above him and watched at the TV, he took his headphones out and started to listen, the news was starting.

—GOOD MORNING! —A cheerful lady appeared on-screen, she was gorgeous, a one-piece white dress showing a bit of skin and long black hair.

Yasu saw the letters that make the announcement and prepare to get down of the train, the train was underground again and stopped, he and a lot of people were coming out of the train as other was getting in, we walk out of the train station, he put his headphones on his neck and wave his hand in the road.

A vehicle stopped in front of him and the door opened by itself first from the front and then slid to the left, Yasu entered and the door closed, sliding to the right and going back to itself, in the car there was no one but a voice.

The car popped out a seat belt, Yasu took it and put it on, the rest were just waiting until Yasu told them to stop.

—Here is fine.

—Got it, sir.

The vehicle stopped near a building and the car popped out a little box with a line at the side, Yasu took his wallet out and slid his card on the line of the box.

—Thank you for using the autonomous ride, hope we see you again, sir. Have a good day!

Yasu got out of the car and walked towards the building. The building had a big name on it, first starting with a big C in capital letter followed by the words, antinn.

Yasu took the elevator to the nine floor, a lot of people were coming in and out as Yasu made his way to the ninth floor, a lot of men who were just tired, other women who were trying just to get to his destination, and other annoying acquaintances, Yasu ignore them all and the ninth floor finally arrive.

Yasu left the elevator and walked towards a lot of doors with numbers, 931, 932, 933 and in the door 934 Yasu stopped, he took another card out of his wallet and he inserted it in the knob of the door just to be unlocked, Yasu entered the flat ones he pulled out the card, standing in the hallway for a minute, making the door close by itself.

At enter were two doors at the sides of the hallway, the curtains were closed, everything had a warm but sad brown-orange tone, the main lobby was conforming of an analog TV, and a couple of equipment below it, with a compartment to save things, in the middle was a couch that was not that elevate it, and a table with papers, fruit, controls and other things. To the right was the kitchen, cleaned and to the left was another door.

Yasu went to the living room, sat down and let out a big sigh out of his mouth.

—Man, I hate going there… it took me more time than I expected… I should order something to eat…

Just as Yasu was about to take his phone out a ring sounded across the entire department, Yasu got up and looked in the peephole of the door and saw a man holding a plate, Yasu put his finger on the hold of the door and opened it.

—Come in

—Thanks.

The man entered the apartment and sat down on the couch of the living room leaving the plate on the table. He was wearing a black top with blue jeans and sandals and he had really short hair.

—You don’t have anything… Did you arrive just yet?

—What? Weren’t you waiting until I arrived? —Yasu moved his head to the side, crossing his arms.

—No way, dude, what do you think I am? Your girlfriend? —The man smiled.

The man and Yasu laugh along.

—Nah, I just arrived, you really had a timing for things, Ren. —Yasu pointed his finger as he was getting near the left door—. Did you make a lot again?

—Yeah, I keep forgetting to make just for myself but it’s tough, you know? Coming from a big family is weird if I don’t do a lot —The man looked at the plate and smiled.

—Well, at least I get to eat for free, let me go change and I will go to your apartment, put that one on the fridge, please —Yasu pointed to the plate that was on the table.

—Alright, I will wait here then.

Yasu waved his hand and entered the room on the left. There were a lot of things in there, the normal stuff, a mirror, a tidy bed and a closet with clothes and shoes. Yasu undressed and put on a long white shirt and a black pants, along with some slippers. He entered his bathroom and saw himself for a bit in the mirror before washing his face

A young man with dark blue short hair, almost medium, he opened his tap and washed his face, he closed and dried his face and hands and left his room.
