Chapter 47:

What she's doing with Sobue's bag?

Crimson Power Black Feather

Sora had to give up. While following Maki she looked at her hands, thinking that all hope for her was lost and that choosing to fall for a man was a mistake. Maki walked silently, so she was left alone with her sad thoughts. Sora wasn't sure whether she should be dumping them onto him. She glanced at his face, which was expressionless. She grimaced and rolled her eyes at herself. Pathetic.

Then her eye caught something familiar in the distance. It was... She narrowed her eyes, and then grabbed Maki, yelling.

"Maki, it's, it's her! We have to catch her!"

Maki did not hesitate and turned his head where Sora was pointing. There was the snake lady. She seemed preoccupied, throwing a fit while fighting a big bag.

Sora's eyes widened, "Maki, she has Sobue's bag! What the actual hell? Did she decide to eat him instead? Please, we need to catch her, she might be the one responsible!"

Maki contemplated the best action plan: teleporting in the bright daylight wasn't an option. They had to cross the street, but there was a red light. Thankfully, the snake has not noticed Sora yet. She was still cursing, walking out of Sobue's building complex. Maki felt the urge to run across, but he was afraid he might give several drivers a heart attack. So they had to wait.

He said calmly to Sora: "Move a bit behind me and be quiet, maybe if she doesn't notice you, she won't run off. We need to cross the street before she disappears somewhere."

"Sure, Maki-san, however, she might turn the other way, and we will lose her!"

As if by magic the snake turned the other direction, which meant she would soon disappear behind the building. Maki cursed under his breath and glanced back at Sora. She stood behind him, eyes huge, mouth open. He touched her shoulder.

"Sora, I will then move very fast, you might miss it, soon the light will switch, you should run to me, I will catch her, I promise."

She nodded. "I trust you."

"Okay, I will move now. See you."

In a moment she blinked, and Maki was nowhere to be seen, as she had to blink again to make sure she did not make a mistake. She tried looking at the place where she saw the snake last, however, there were no people around there.

The light finally turned green, and she ran. As she was running, a strange vision popped into her mind: she saw Yoshi's face, he looked different somehow. He was younger, and dressed in dark historical-drama robes. He had long hair and he smiled openly, looking at her.

So handsome, and so unlike him too. Suddenly she felt she was about to lose consciousness. No, there there are things to do. The snake. I will ask about the hair thing later. Sobue, I wonder how did she find him?

As these thoughts were flying in her head, she did not notice, but she had already fallen onto the ground, people looking down at her, worried. Someone picked her up and moved away from the street. She felt like everything faded to black.

She opened her eyes, the surrounding trees, and she heard someone calling someone, maybe her. It was fussy, she wasn't certain where she was, or who was calling. She tried standing up, however, she couldn't move. So she relaxed her body, looking at the sky above her. It was transparent, so clean. The noises of the outside world became almost non-existent. In several moments, Yoshi's head appeared above her. But again, he had hair and wore armor. He looked surprised, trying to talk to her, but she couldn't respond. All she wanted to do was to ask him about his appearance. However, sleepiness conquered her, she closed her eyes with a smile.
