How To Survive Getting Superpowers

I had been reading old superhero comics since I learned to read. I was a little obsessed ,one might say. But waking up with super strength? That's a dream come true for a lot of people, myself included.

“Nia baby. Promise me something ok? As special as this strength you have is. Promise me you won’t let anyone else see you use it ok?”

“But why mama?!” I stomped my little feet on the ground causing the ground to rumble beneath us.

My mother just looked at me with a knowing smile and tilted her head at me. She wasn't the type to yell or scream, I can't remember a time when she raised her voice at me at all…then again I was only with her for three years.

I’d give up these powers if it meant she was still in my life till this day.
