I kinda realize a review of the story at this point wont do a whole lot, since it has been taken down, but I was feeling super nostalgic and wanted to do it anyways. SO HERE I GO!!! 😎
Minatika was one of the first people to read my contest entry from the 2023 MAL contest, and she had such enthusiasm for it that I wasn’t expecting. Because of that, I was really inspired to keep writing it, even though a close family member of mine was very sick and I had to help take care of them. It took me a little while, but as I got more freetime I eventually wanted to return Mina's enthusiasm by reading her own story.
Man, I was hooked right away! Claire had such a cool design and Jiro was a fun protagonist. The start broke my heart because I could feel the pain Jiro went through when breaking up with the girlfriend he was ready to propose too. But watching his feelings for Claire grow with every chapter, and their eventual romance really was such a beautiful thing. 💍
In my head, I still replay some of the moments from the story, and even now as I'm typing this up I can't help but reminisce on some of the them, like Jiro riding giant seahorses with Mia and almost drowning, or the fireworks chapter. And I forgot about the maid Toren thing until I looked back at the artwork too lol!
Mina did a good job on the story. I'm not the best with reviews and explaining good stories from bad ones because I just like reading, but this was such a fun story with heart.
What was really the greatest part for me about this story though was the community around it. Mina really did a good job breathing some life into Honeyfeed. I felt really happy because it gave me a little time to get away from my troubles and interact with other people and their stories. Like, did you guys know there's thousands of novels on this website?! CRAZY! 🤣 I found such a desire to read them all, if only I had the energy. Don't even get me started on how impressive it was that she was able to read through like hundreds of other people's stuff! GOOD GRIEF! If only I could read half as fast as she could lol! (I take this as a challenge, Mina! XD )
Anyways, this review is really long and I'll wrap it up by saying that Mina did a great job, and I hope that she is doing well and getting her stories published out in the real world 🌎
Best wishes to the author!
