A Taste of Boba

16-year-old Hotaru Yaro has always been secretive and keeps to himself. His classmates think he has a strange, hidden obsession with gaming as he’s always on a fan forum for a popular streamer called ‘Firefly Chaser.’ Little do they know, Firefly Chaser – one of Japan’s largest masked streamers – is Hotaru himself. And his hidden obsession? A viewer called ‘KofiBoba.’ As their friendship blossoms and blooms into something more, KofiBoba announces a visit in July to Odaiba to meet Hotaru.

But wait - also talking to KofiBoba is another user who watches Firefly Chaser’s streams: Aoki Matsu. As a coffee barista with a tough homelife, Aoki fell for the elusive girl, who he is certain goes to the same school as him and he is determined to find her!

Is Hotaru ready to take the leap? Or will Aoki get there first?

Unaware of the other’s existence or involvement, a tale of summer romance, heartache, friendship, and mystery begins, and it all starts with a taste of boba.
