The Fate of Faith

The magical world of Harmos is perfectly in sync. People use magic as part of everyday life but to live a harmonious life each person needs a compatible partner: without one there won’t be enough magic for a household to work.
Yami Hitsu, an outcast, has been friends with Raia Zo, a girl from a wealthy family, since they were 8. They did everything together and Yami vowed to her that they would be together forever. Because of this vow, Yami had been waiting for the day they both turn 18 so they can take the pairing ritual. Alas, the Fates had other plans; the ritual declared them incompatible! To add insult to injury, the ritual also declared Yami to be incompatible with everyone!
Fortunately, a wise old man heard of the situation and told him that there was a way to change the Fates’ decision. All he had to do was team up with the "Un", an even bigger outcast, and embark on a dangerous quest for a sacred stone.
Will Yami be able to change fate? Or is he destined to be alone?
